Chapter 11

Chapter 11

The excitement of the party faded quickly, like the ebbing tide, and campus life returned to its usual rhythm. During recess, Zhao Jinglu, Su Xiaowen, Li Yuanyuan, and Wang Yufei continued to gather together, but ever since the playground "reservation" incident that afternoon, a subtle atmosphere had quietly permeated their lives. Su Xiaowen's enthusiasm for that "handsome basketball player" continued to grow, and she kept mentioning him more and more during recess.

Zhao Jinglu had always carried that little secret with her. Every time Su Xiaowen mentioned it, she would feel a subtle sense of guilt, and could only vaguely evade the question with words like "Oh, stop being such a fangirl."

Li Yuanyuan was a quick-witted and curious girl. Seeing Su Xiaowen's absent-minded appearance every day, she volunteered, "Wenwen, leave it to me! I'll help you find out who he is, what class he's in, and his phone number. I promise to get everything to you!"

Su Xiaowen immediately raised her head, her eyes shining: "Really? Yuanyuan, you are the best!"

Zhao Jinglu's heart skipped a beat. She looked at Su Xiaowen's expectant expression, her mind in turmoil. She had an inexplicable feeling that once this thing started, it would develop in an uncontrollable direction.

The information barrier between the high school and middle school departments was, to those with a keen eye, as thin as a sheet of paper. Li Yuanyuan had a cousin who was a sophomore in high school. She took the opportunity to ask about a problem and, without much trouble, received the definitive answer the next day.

During lunch break, Li Yuanyuan mysteriously slipped a small note into Su Xiaowen's hand, her face brimming with pride and excitement. "Here! Class 7, Grade 12, Ling Peng! I got number □□ for you, too! My cousin said he didn't hesitate at all. As soon as he heard it was a little girl from the junior high school department who wanted it, he gave it to her straight away!"

"Really?! Ling Peng...what a nice name!" Su Xiaowen almost jumped up and snatched the note. Looking at the string of numbers on it, her face flushed with excitement. "Oh my God! Yuanyuan, you're amazing! Did he really give it to me?"

"Of course! Is there anything wrong with me being there?" Li Yuanyuan raised her chin proudly. "When my cousin told him, he seemed to be stunned for a moment before he told me the number. I guess he didn't expect to be so popular! Hahaha!"

Zhao Jinglu, standing nearby, felt her heart clench as she heard the name "Ling Peng" finally revealed. But afterward, she felt a greater sense of relief: "It's finally here!" The secret was no longer a secret, and the little information she knew was no longer significant.

She watched Su Xiaowen, clutching the note like a treasure, excitedly discussing with Li Yuanyuan and Wang Yufei how to add him and what to say first. The small, personal ripple in her heart was quietly buried deeper. Even with a hint of guilt and a desire to compensate, she joined the discussion, saying with a smile, "Then you'll have to come up with a special opening line."

At the same time, in the high school classroom.

Zhang Hao hooked his arm around Ling Peng's neck and asked with a sly smile, "I heard that a little girl from the middle school class next door, Chen Hao, asked you for your phone number, and you actually gave it to her? That's not like you! Tell me, who's that girl?"

Ling Peng was reading an aerospace magazine. He didn't even look up when he heard this. His tone was flat and calm: "What sister? She's just the little dancing teacher. I guess she has some follow-up questions for the show."

To him, the logic was simple and direct. That "little teacher" who was so methodical, so serious about her dancing, and who had previously seemed to be avoiding him, suddenly demanded his help in a roundabout way. Could it be anything other than business?

He even felt that this method was a bit too roundabout.

Zhang Hao was stunned for a moment and scratched his head: "Little teacher? Then why don't you want mine?"

A misunderstanding caused by information misalignment was quietly formed.

Su Xiaowen held the "horn of victory" and was full of longing, thinking that she was the special lucky one.

Zhao Jinglu let go of the psychological burden of "concealment" and thought that things were finally back on track.

Ling Peng, on the other hand, knew nothing about this and just thought he was dealing with an ordinary "after-sales matter".

None of them knew that this small note would soon pry open the seemingly stable relationship between them.
