The next day, Tian Yu and her group set off at dawn. Before leaving, Ji Feng returned to the group and told Tian Yu that everything was ready. The group then set off, and they should be able to reach the capital in three days. The closer they got to the capital, the more nervous Tian Yu became. The people chasing them would not give up easily and must have already laid an ambush in that place. Now there was only one road from here to the capital. Tian Yu traveled quickly for two days, hoping to eliminate the enemy before Tang Yuan caught up with them. That day, Tian Yu and her group camped in the suburbs. The guards lit a fire, and Ji Feng hunted down some rabbits and pheasants to roast and eat.
"Madam, aren't you angry after hearing so many rumors?" Jifeng asked with rare curiosity.
"Don't be angry, it's normal, it's only human nature," Tian Yu said, eating the chicken leg that Ji Feng handed her.
"But the closer we got to the capital, the more rampant the rumors seemed to become."
"Yes! You can imagine how badly people in the capital have scolded this unscrupulous village woman. It's good! My name has arrived before I have even arrived. It seems that people in the capital still like me."
"So that the lady can still smile."
"Why aren't you laughing? It's not my fault. By the way, has your prince sent any more letters?"
"No!"
At this point, after Jifeng sent that letter, the Wu Prince's Mansion received a letter the next day. The servants trembled, wondering whether to hand the letter to the prince. The prince, knowing it was from Jifeng, said, "What does the letter say?"
The servant hesitated and said, "This!?...This servant dares not say."
"Give it to me!"
Prince Wu took the letter, read it, and then angrily crumpled it into a ball and threw it into the lake. The servants were so frightened that they dared not move. Prince Wu said angrily, "Has this Gale been following Tian Yu for too long and caught her influence? Go and call Zhuiyun here."
After a while, a handsome young man about the same age as Jifeng came over, knelt down and said, "Your Highness!"
"Get up. Go and check where Gale and that woman are. See if there are any ambushes along the rest of the way. Make sure they arrive safely."
"yes!"
"Tian Yu, we'll be meeting again soon," Prince Wu said with a smile, looking into the distance.
Meanwhile, Tangyuan and his group were worried because no one was chasing or lying in ambush. At Tangyuan's repeated requests, Li Xingyun agreed to travel through the night in hopes of catching up with Tianyu and the others as soon as possible. When they stopped to rest at the last post station, Qiuju and Lvliu heard about the martial arts competition that had taken place there the day before. From their description, they knew it was Tianyu and her group. They also heard rumors that were slandering Tianyu. Lvliu was so angry that she wanted to confront the people, but Qiuju stopped her and pulled her back to the inn, repeatedly telling Lvliu not to let Tangyuan and Li Xingyun know.
Once inside the inn, Green Willow stood silently, while Autumn Chrysanthemum said, "Young Master, Uncle, and Madam stayed here yesterday. Should we set off soon? Maybe we can catch up with them quickly."
"Okay! Uncle, are you tired?"
"I'm not tired, let's go, I don't want to stay here either."
"Okay, let's set off then. I don't like it here either."
Unbeknownst to Qiuju, while they were out shopping, Tangyuan and Li Xingyun had overheard other guests' comments about Tianyu at the inn. Tangyuan wanted to go down and confront them, but Xuanyu stopped her. So she and Li Xingyun stayed inside, afraid that they might lose their temper and start a fight.
Another strange thing was that the entire county was abuzz with arrests—men in black, men with tattoos on their shoulders. They were said to be the men the local tyrant, Master Lei, was looking for. Seeing the strange tattoos, Li Xingyun understood. Tian Yu was truly skilled at manipulating people. He'd heard that these men in black had broken into Master Lei's house, severely humiliated him, and stolen all his property. As they left, they inadvertently revealed their tattoos, which was how Master Lei locked onto them and vowed to tear them to pieces. No wonder these men in black were always so busy wherever they went, unable to spare any attention for them; Xuan Yu alone was enough to handle the occasional minor disturbances.
Before dawn, Tian Yu got up to set off, but Ji Feng advised, "Madam, we don't need to rush. We can reach the capital today. It's still early, why don't you sleep a little longer?"
"No need, let's get going!"
"But this is too tiring, and you wouldn't want the Marquis to see you like this, would you?"
"What's wrong with me? Am I dirty?" Tian Yu touched her face. She hadn't showered or changed her clothes for two days.
"It's not dirty, but it looks very tiring."
"Okay, I'll rest a little longer. Wake me up when it's light." After saying that, Tian Yu went back to the car to rest.
When Tian Yu woke up again, it was already broad daylight. Tian Yu climbed out of the car and said reproachfully, "Ji Feng, why didn't you wake me up?"
"Don't worry, Madam. It's just dawn. There's a stream ahead. Would you like to wash up first before setting off?"
"Okay! I'll be right back."
Tian Yu changed into clean clothes, washed up by the river, and then continued on her way.
Not long after they left, Tangyuan and the others passed by Tianyu's campsite. Xuanyu dismounted and looked around, saying, "It should be them. They look like they just left."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Tangyuan said excitedly.
"good!"
Around noon, Jifeng stopped the carriage and said to Tianyu, "Madam, let's rest here for a bit and have something to eat. The capital is just ahead."
Tian Yu got out of the car to take a look around, and sat down with the others to eat some dry rations. While munching on a flatbread, Tian Yu said, "When we get to the capital, I'm going to cook a feast to treat everyone."
"That's wonderful! I've heard that Madam is an excellent cook," a soldier said with a smile.
What would you all like to eat?
"I want to eat braised pork. I heard that Madam makes it very well."
"I want to eat noodles."
Several soldiers were saying what they wanted to eat, and Tian Yu smiled and agreed to each one. Then she turned to Ji Feng and asked, "Ji Feng, what do you want to eat?"
