Chapter 225 Leaving the Palace

"It's getting late today, and Tian Yu is a bit tired. How about we wait until I've decided what to sing for the Crown Prince before we sing it to him?"

"Okay, I'll wait."

Finally seeing the Crown Prince off, Tian Yu had no strength left. If one day she really left Cui Zhenshu, she could take good care of him! She should be more suited to stay by his side than she was. She lay down fully clothed and fell asleep almost immediately. In her dream, she kept seeing Zhao Moyan's desperate, painful, and reluctant gaze as he left. Too much emotion made Tian Yu unable to look him in the eye, her heart aching terribly. She opened her mouth several times to explain, but couldn't say anything. Tears streamed down her face. Zhao Moyan turned and left heartlessly, leaving Tian Yu standing there, heartbroken.

The scene shifts, and Zhao Moyan, clad in armor, enters the battlefield. Amidst the chaos of war, Tian Yu immediately spots him on his large black horse. She tries to stop him from charging into battle, but Zhao Moyan seems oblivious to her. Finally, Tian Yu watches as Zhao Moyan falls from his horse and fights the enemy. Outnumbered and surrounded, Zhao Moyan is pierced by a spear and collapses in a pool of blood. Tian Yu is stunned. Everything before her eyes is too real; she can almost hear the neighing of the warhorses, the clash of swords, and the sound of the spear piercing his body. Time seems to stand still. Tian Yu can't believe what she's seeing and desperately shakes her head, trying to wake herself. But Zhao Moyan is watching her in agony from afar. Unable to bear it any longer, Tian Yu screams and runs towards Zhao Moyan, embracing his fallen body. Seeing her hands covered in blood, Tian Yu cries out in anguish, calling his name repeatedly. But no matter how much she calls, she cannot wake him. Zhao Moyan is gone forever.

Tian Yu woke up with a start, looking around to make sure it was just a nightmare. She wiped the tears from her eyes, lit a lamp, and tried to comfort herself that it was just a dream, not real. Zhao Moyan had only just set off and would be alright. Besides, Prince Wu had promised to protect Zhao Moyan. But no matter how much she comforted herself, she couldn't shake the feeling of unease. She tossed and turned in bed, unable to fall back asleep, her mind filled with images of Zhao Moyan being stabbed by enemy soldiers. Tian Yu got out of bed and touched her lower abdomen; thankfully, she was unharmed. Seeing the moonlight outside, she put on her outer garment, quietly opened the door, and saw that the eunuchs and maids guarding the door were also asleep. She carefully slipped past them and left the courtyard. The deep palace felt even more eerily quiet in the middle of the night. Tian Yu had only wanted to get some fresh air, but as she walked, she strayed from her room, feeling as if she were lost.
