Chapter 37 Awkwardness

The two children, not understanding why, answered loudly in unison, "We remember!"

The three grown men looked at the large bowls of rice in front of them, and Li Yong and Tangyuan nodded happily, saying, "We'll remember, we won't waste any, don't worry!" and began to eat heartily.

Chen Chong smiled at Tian Yu, then picked up his chopsticks and started eating. Zhao Moyan frowned at the rice in front of him, but after hearing Tian Yu's words, he forced a smile, shook his head, and slowly began to eat. Compared to Li Yong's wolfing down his food, Zhao Moyan's was too elegant and dignified. Tian Yu looked at the group and thought that she and Chen Chong were indeed the most normal, neither pretentious nor rude. Thinking this, she finished serving Tangyuan and Xiaoju, and then smiled and served Chen Chong a piece of fish. Zhao Moyan raised his eyelids, and Li Yong, seeing that Tian Yu didn't intend to serve him any more food, immediately served Zhao Moyan a piece, saying, "It's okay, brother, I'll serve you. Brother, eat more, sister-in-law's cooking is delicious."

He even took a portion of everything, until Zhao Moyan said coldly, "Dazhuang, that's enough!" Only then did Li Yong lower his head and start eating. Tian Yu, hearing this, jokingly asked, "Dazhuang? Aren't you called Li Yong?"

"Hehe, Dazhuang is my original name, and Li Yong is the name my older brother gave me later."

“I think Dazhuang suits you better,” Tian Yu said with a smile.

"Sister-in-law, please don't make fun of me."

After Tangyuan and Xiaoju finished eating, they went to the bamboo forest to see the horses with Li Yong. A bowl of rice wasn't much for Chen Chong, and he finished it quickly. But Zhao Moyan had a harder time. He ate slowly and carefully for a long time. In addition, Li Yong put some vegetables on his plate. He even coughed from the spiciness of the snails and spat them out with a frown. When Tian Yu saw him like that, she deliberately picked up a snail and slurped it loudly, exclaiming, "It's so delicious. It's a pity that some people can't eat it."

After Zhao Moyan finally finished eating, Tian Yu only had one bowl left to wash. After cleaning up the last bowl, Tian Yu went out to find Tang Yuan and the others. Seeing them having fun with Li Yong in the bamboo forest, Tian Yu sat with Chen Chong under the shade of a tree in front of the door, weaving furniture with the bamboo they had cut earlier. Chen Chong's bamboo stool was already finished, and Tian Yu could only help by handing over the bamboo strips.

"Luckily you were here, I saved a lot of money."

"Is there anything else you want? I'll see if I can make it."

"Hmm, I can't think of anything. I'll just need whatever you make."

"How about I make you a recliner later?"

“Great! Then I can lie on it and sunbathe every day.” Tian Yu was happily chatting with Chen Chong when Zhao Moyan came out and called Li Yong over.

As soon as Li Yong heard Zhao Moyan call him, he ran over excitedly and asked, "Big brother, what's up?"

"Go back this afternoon and give this letter to Lord Shangguan, who came with me," Zhao Moyan said, handing a letter to Li Yong.

"Alright, when are you going back, brother?" Li Yong took the letter and stuffed it into his pocket, then asked.

"I'll stay a few more days to keep Tangyuan company. Oh, and I'll bring some of my clothes and belongings with me when I come back."

"Okay, don't worry, brother, I'll go back right away." Li Yong prepared to leave after receiving the order.

"Hey, wait a minute, I'm treating you to drinks the day after tomorrow, remember to bring those five soldiers with you."

"Okay, don't worry, sister-in-law. I'll bring everything if there's nothing else."

As he spoke, he went to the bamboo forest to lead away the brown horse. Zhao Moyan escorted him to the village entrance, perhaps explaining some things to him. Li Yong kept nodding in agreement.

After seeing Li Yong off, Zhao Moyan truly began to spend time with Tangyuan, weaving many small items for him out of bamboo. Tangyuan was very happy. At first, he was a little uncomfortable, but in the end, he clapped his hands and jumped up and down, saying, "Daddy is so amazing! Daddy is so amazing!"

Zhao Moyan was probably pleased to hear this, and she wove even more enthusiastically. Xiao Ju watched Tangyuan being happy and she was happy too. Tian Yu looked at them and then smiled at Chen Chong and said, "I think yours is better. It's both practical and beautiful."

They spent the whole afternoon weaving bamboo crafts together in front of the door. Before dinner, Chen Chong said he had to go home and wouldn't stay. Zhao Moyan took the two children to the study that Tian Yu had prepared for Tangyuan to read. Tian Yu prepared dinner and asked them to come out and eat. At the dinner table, Tangyuan watched the three of them eating with airs, especially since Tangyuan and Zhao Moyan looked exactly alike. Tian Yu was annoyed and put down her chopsticks, saying, "What's wrong with you two? Eat properly."

"Father said that there are etiquette rules for dining. One should be elegant at the table, chew slowly, and not make any noise."

After hearing Tangyuan's words, Tian Yu looked at Xiaoju, who nodded in agreement. Tian Yu then stared at Zhao Moyan, who was poking at the rice in his bowl. With a quick dart, she began to diligently serve him food and rice, thinking she was going to stuff him to death. But Zhao Moyan accepted it all and finished it all.

That night, Tangyuan said that since he was a man, he wouldn't sleep with his mother and wanted to sleep with Zhao Moyan instead. Tianyu thought about it and agreed, so she let the two of them sleep in Tangyuan's room on the east side, while Tianyu and Xiaoju slept in Tianyu's bedroom on the west side. Before going to sleep, Tianyu was still a little worried about Chen Chong, wondering if he had eaten. She wondered if there was something at home that required him to rush back without even eating dinner.

Meanwhile, Chen Chong returned home to find a man in black standing there. The man left a letter and then departed. Chen Chong recognized the handwriting on the letter as belonging to his father. Reluctant to open it, he did so anyway. After reading half of it, he burned the letter, picked up his bow and arrows, and headed into the mountains.
