Just as Tian Yu was looking at Zhao Moyan defiantly, Zhao Moyan chuckled mischievously, released the book from her hands, then cupped Tian Yu's head and kissed her directly. Tian Yu's eyes widened as she stared into Zhao Moyan's eyes. She felt like she had forgotten how to breathe, and opened her mouth to catch her breath, but Zhao Moyan took the opportunity to kiss her even deeper. In shock, the book fell from Tian Yu's hands to the ground, and she stood there motionless like a wooden statue, letting Zhao Moyan kiss her...
"Big brother! Big brother!" Li Yong shouted as he ran in.
Tian Yu then realized what she was doing. She pushed away the book that Zhao Moyan had stepped on after taking a step back, wiped her mouth hard with her sleeve, picked up the book, blushed, lowered her head, and ran out of the tent, returning to her own tent.
Li Yong, still confused after shaking his clothes, turned to look at Zhao Moyan and then at Tian Yu who had run away, and said with a wicked smile, "I've come at the wrong time, brother, you'd better hurry up."
"What's up?" Zhao Moyan asked seriously, though he was still thrilled by the kiss.
"An informant reported that Chen Chong picked up someone from a border town in Cheguo and is heading back."
"Okay, is there anything else?"
"Oh, did you read the book I gave you last time? I found you another one. Brother, you're too much of a gentleman. You don't know that these days, you have to be thick-skinned and know how to handle things to win a wife." As he spoke, he pulled a book out of his pocket and handed it to Zhao Moyan like a treasure.
Zhao Moyan took the book without saying a word and flipped through it. Seeing this, Li Yong continued, "Brother, you don't know, the soldiers in this military camp who are most popular with women are all very capable. No matter how angry a woman is, he can coax her back with just a few words. Now, that woman can't live without him."
"Alright, I understand," Zhao Moyan said, waving his hand impatiently.
"Then you'd better work hard, brother, and try to give Tangyuan a younger brother or sister soon. Remember, you have to be a rogue with your woman, not a gentleman, or someone else will steal her away." Li Yong said with a smile before leaving.
Zhao Moyan looked at the book in his hand and then remembered that Tian Yu had taken it earlier, so he quickly went to find Tian Yu.
When Zhao Moyan came in, Tian Yu had almost finished reading the book in her hand. When she saw Zhao Moyan, she put down the book, turned around and said without looking at him, "Take it away! I've already finished reading it. I thought it was some good book. It's boring!"
Zhao Moyan picked up his book but didn't leave. Instead, he sat down. Tian Yu, hearing the voice behind her, was startled and quickly stood up, saying, "Why aren't you leaving yet! I'm a little sleepy." Without daring to look at Zhao Moyan, she took off her shoes, got into bed, covered herself with the blanket, and went to sleep.
Zhao Moyan walked to the bedside and sat down, saying to the blanket, "Are you shy and afraid to look at me, or...?"
"No! There's nothing there."
"Then why are you avoiding me?"
"I...I'm sleepy and want to go to sleep. You should leave now!"
"Okay, you go to sleep. I'll stay here with you."
"No need, you should go back now!"
Zhao Moyan didn't say anything, so he took off his shoes and lay down. The bed was already small, and it felt even more cramped when he lay down. Tian Yu lifted the blanket and said angrily, "What are you doing? Get up now."
"Go to sleep! Aren't you sleepy?"
"You... how did you become so shameless? Did Li Yong give you some dirty tricks again?" Tian Yu said angrily.
"Yes! But it seems to be quite effective."
"You...you're not leaving or not? If you don't leave, I will." Tian Yu stood up angrily, trying to step over Zhao Moyan to get out of bed.
She had barely taken a step when Zhao Moyan grabbed her and pulled her into his arms, locking her hands and feet. Tian Yu tried to break free, but Zhao Moyan warned her, "Don't move! Go to sleep! Otherwise, Tangyuan will really have to have a younger brother or sister."
Tian Yu was so frightened that she dared not struggle anymore, so she could only shrink back and stay still. Tian Yu held on for a long time, and finally fell asleep because she could no longer hold on.
The voices outside woke Tian Yu. Zhao Moyan had already left. The rain was still falling outside. Tian Yu got up and went to the door to look outside. There were many soldiers walking around. Tian Yu stopped one of them and asked why. She learned that the rain was too heavy and several tents had been flooded. They were trying to figure out how to deal with it.
Tian Yu was looking for an umbrella to go outside the tent when Li Yong shouted, "Sister-in-law! Sister-in-law!"
Tian Yu ran out to ask what was going on, and saw Li Yong leading several soldiers carrying things in. He said that there weren't enough tents, so he was moving Zhao Moyan's things into this tent so that the family of three could make do for now. Under these circumstances, Tian Yu couldn't refuse, so she had to help move things. Zhao Moyan's books, clothes, and bedding were all moved in, and the tent, which wasn't very big to begin with, was suddenly piled full, mostly with books and documents.
Li Yong put down his things and led his men to attend to other matters, leaving Tian Yu to sigh as she looked at the mess on the ground and begin to tidy up. She carefully arranged everything on the small table in the tent, sorting them by category. Tian Yu meticulously arranged the folded documents and books, pulling out a piece of paper from one of them. She picked it up and read: "He must not be allowed to return to Chen. He must be stopped. If necessary, he can be killed." The seal below should be that of the Emperor of Wu. The document fell to the ground in Tian Yu's hand, her hand trembling. Although she had considered this possibility, she still couldn't accept it when it actually happened. Did this mean Zhao Moyan had to kill Chen Chong? One was Tangyuan's father, and the other was the man she was once to marry. Without time to think further, the voices of the soldiers outside jolted Tian Yu awake. Pretending not to see anything, she continued to tidy up the things.
The noise outside gradually subsided around dusk. Zhao Moyan returned to the tent with Tangyuan, and then Li Yong and two soldiers brought in dinner. Tian Yu forced a calm smile at them. Li Yong and the soldiers put down the food and said, "Sister-in-law, it's been raining all day, and the firewood is all wet. We'll have to make do with this for dinner."
