Since that day, Tian Yu's treatment has improved dramatically. She moved directly into the Crown Princess's exclusive palace, and several batches of palace maids and eunuchs were added, including Rong'er. After Qiu Xue's death, Tian Yu asked Prince Wu to arrange for her to be moved elsewhere, but unexpectedly, she ended up back in the Crown Princess's palace.
Rong'er was also very happy to see Tian Yu again. Tian Yu now spent her days sunbathing and eating all sorts of tonics. The entire East Palace was decorated with red silk, because tomorrow was her wedding day with the Crown Prince. Everyone seemed to be happy, but Tian Yu found the red silk so glaring and ironic.
Li Xingyun naturally became Tian Yu's personal physician, which was probably the only thing that made Tian Yu happy, because she could see her family every day. Li Xingyun could walk slowly without a wheelchair. One day, he came to Tian Yu and said, "Don't worry too much, it's not good for the baby."
"With you here, I feel much better."
"Your health isn't very good, you still need to take better care of yourself."
"The Marquis, he..."
"Don't worry, he's fine. He's escaped unscathed, and with Li Yong around, you don't need to worry."
"That's good, it was too dangerous! He shouldn't have done that."
"Don't worry, Lord Marquis is meticulous and won't act impulsively."
"But I still always feel anxious and flustered."
"You're pregnant, this is normal, try not to think too much about it."
"Yes! Soon I will be the Crown Princess!" Tian Yu said mockingly, looking at the fiery red silk.
"If you don't want to..."
"No, isn't this exactly what I wanted!"
"Tian Yu, you don't need to do this. The Marquis will find out sooner or later."
"Alright, let's talk about something else, okay?"
After examining her, Li Xingyun asked, "You still need to get more rest and avoid staying up late."
"How is the princess doing lately? Her mourning period should be almost over!"
"He should be back soon. Has the Crown Prince been giving you any trouble lately?"
"I haven't seen him since I returned to the palace."
"That's good."
After becoming Tian Yu's personal maid, Rong'er was very diligent, constantly attending to Tian Yu's every need. On their wedding day, Tian Yu was woken up before dawn, and a group of palace maids surrounded her. Tian Yu felt like a puppet being turned around. Before the ceremony even began, Tian Yu was already dizzy with hunger. Wearing her headdress, she looked at Rong'er and said, "Rong'er, I can't take it anymore, I'm so hungry!"
"Your Highness, please bear with it for a moment. I'll go get you something to eat right away." With that, Rong'er sneaked out.
A moment later, she secretly ran back, nervously saying, "Your Highness, eat quickly so no one sees us." As she spoke, she opened the handkerchief to reveal two pieces of pastry hidden inside. Tian Yu quickly grabbed them and stuffed them into her mouth. Because she ate so fast, she almost choked. Fortunately, Rong'er brought water, but only gave Tian Yu a sip before taking it away. Tian Yu reached out to drink some more, but Rong'er said, "Your Highness cannot drink too much. It's not convenient to go to the toilet in these clothes."
Tian Yu swallowed hard, disappointed, and withdrew her hand, saying, "Fine! I'll endure it!"
With a heavy headdress on her head, Tian Yu completed the wedding ceremony under the guidance of eunuchs and palace maids. Throughout the process, Tian Yu felt dizzy and disoriented. Looking at everything in front of her, which seemed so unreal, she felt guilty and helpless as she kept thinking about Zhao Moyan.
Fortunately, because Tian Yu was pregnant, everything was simplified considerably; otherwise, she would have been exhausted. Finally able to sit down and rest, Tian Yu was so hungry she was dizzy. Without thinking, she quickly removed her headdress. Rong'er tried to stop her, but it was too late; Tian Yu was too hungry. Rong'er brought her a bowl of ginseng soup, which Tian Yu drank in one gulp, finally feeling a little better. Then, she took off her cumbersome outer robe, finally feeling as if she had come back to life.
"Your Highness, isn't this inappropriate?" Rong'er said worriedly.
"It's alright, I'll just bring them when someone comes later." Tian Yu said, already sitting down at the table and eating the snacks laid out on it.
"Your Highness, it would be best if you sat back down on the bed. What would you like to eat? I'll get it for you."
Seeing Rong'er's frightened expression, Tian Yu clapped her hands and said, "Alright, go and have someone cook me a bowl of noodles, with extra numbing and spicy flavors."
"Spicy food is bad for your health. How about I cook you a bowl of clear soup noodles instead?"
"Alright, then go ahead!"
Outside, it was bustling with activity. Tian Yu was lying in bed waiting for Rong'er's face, thinking about how to escape unscathed when the Crown Prince arrived. Before she knew it, she had fallen asleep.
When Tian Yu woke up again, she saw the Crown Prince standing in front of her bed looking at her. His gaze sent chills down her spine, and she immediately sat up and said, "Your...Your Highness, is the banquet outside over?"
"It's over already!" the Crown Prince said seriously.
As Tian Yu watched him, she slowly moved to the edge of the bed, trying to get up. The Crown Prince walked to the table with a wicked smile, sat down, poured two glasses of wine, and gestured for Tian Yu to come over. Tian Yu nervously said, "Um... um, I don't drink alcohol."
"Tonight is our wedding night, so we should at least drink some of the nuptial wine, right?" Although the Crown Prince said this with a smile, Tian Yu felt that the smile made her very uncomfortable.
Tian Yu didn't move, and the Crown Prince continued without any hurry: "I heard that the Marquis of Zhenbei has been injured and has been unconscious for almost half a month."
Upon hearing this, Tian Yu immediately looked up and stared at the Crown Prince, wanting to know if he was lying. The Crown Prince smiled and said, "Why didn't anyone tell you?"
Tian Yuxiang said in a trembling voice, "Why did he...why did he tell me he was injured? It's over between us."
"Really? Don't think I don't know whose child you're carrying. If he knew the child was his, what do you think he would do? And what would Father Emperor do?" The Crown Prince raised his wine cup and looked at Tian Yu.
I'll drink it!
