"I'm selfishly reluctant," she muttered, "but you're the Chief Judge of Farranlon after all, and there are many innocent people at the base. I can't say anything. If you insist on handling it, I won't blame you."
Besides, Sister Long Yan, Ling Lang and those friends who had helped her before were probably all at the base. It was impossible for her and Duan Xiaolin to stay out of it and not care about their lives.
Duan Xiaolin touched the top of her head and said, "When the time comes, I'll take you to see the parasite. Then you can decide whether you want to go to the headquarters with me."
"If you don't want to go, just come back. You can continue to live the life you want. Give me some time and I will take care of everything."
Pei Xiqing asked, "Is there any difference between the headquarters and the third base we visited before?"
"Yes." He lowered his eyes. "Headquarters is the headquarters, and the Third Base is just a branch."
Pei Xiqing didn't get to see what that place looked like during the plot.
I didn't even make it to that plot point.
All I know is that the male and female protagonists are doing very well in the headquarters later on.
Second to none, above ten thousand others.
Later on, he even ignored the marshal at the headquarters.

Although she was curious, she got goosebumps when she thought that the methods used by headquarters to deal with zombies might be even more terrifying.
