Chapter 3: Purity and Desire (1/2)

These are all later plots, and she has no role to play.

Who could blame her for not living to that day? Later, the male and female protagonists were busy fighting monsters, upgrading infrastructure, and ruling the world happily, while she was drooling and screaming in a pile of zombies, being shot at like cannon fodder.

Pei Xiqing sighed.

Ling Lang stepped on the accelerator, cutting through the obstacles along the way, killing countless zombies. He still had the mood to ask her, "I knocked all your companions away. Do you want to experience it?"

Pei Xiqing looked at the blood and unknown tissue being swept away on the windshield again and again, biting her lip, "No more."

"You'll be like that soon."

"No, you're not reminding me."

Ling Lang teased her again: "It seems that zombies not only lose their rationality and bite people randomly, but also drool and even have difficulty urinating and defecating."

Pei Xiqing was speechless for a moment.

Can this guy just shut up.

To tell the truth is not a pleasant thing.

Ling Lang laughed out loud.

But before he could laugh a few times, the man next to him glanced at him indifferently, and he quickly shut his mouth.

Pei Xiqing had already prepared herself mentally for the possibility of becoming a zombie. The city that kept receding outside the car window really did look like a sightseeing bus, which attracted her attention.

Everything in this apocalypse is new to her.

Not far away, a hunting team was digging something out of a zombie's brain. She asked softly, "Are they looking for nuclear crystals?"

Ling Lang glanced at her and said, "Did the apocalypse just start yesterday? You even have to ask this?"

"I haven't seen it."

“…”

"You haven't answered my question yet. Are those nuclear crystals?"

"Well, you could say that," Ling Lang said, "but that thing is more like an energy stone, something used to build human bases."

"I understand."

"It seems that S1 has protected you quite well, and he hasn't even let you see this." The delicate-skinned and tender-fleshed man looked like he had never been on a battlefield, let alone killed a zombie.

"That's not the case. Everyone in their team probably hates me to death." She propped up her chin, a look of helplessness in her eyes. "They'll probably beat me up if they see me."

"You're so powerful? What did you do?"

"It's hard to say."

"Did you steal something?"

"No."

"You won't..."

Ling Lang's voice was interrupted by a sudden brake. He cursed the zombies that appeared on the roadside and the topic was diverted.

Pei Xiqing hastily looked away, and was caught off guard by the pair of calm eyes in the rearview mirror.

He said: "Your wound has become more infected."

After he reminded her, Pei Xiqing noticed that the green feces on her body had spread from her arms to her neck. Now, except for her face which was slightly normal, the rest of her body was green.

It's so itchy that I'm dying.

She asked, "Do you have...gauze or just any cloth?"

The man handed her a roll of brand new bandages.

This kind of bandage seemed to be designed to prevent the spread of viruses after being bitten by zombies. The length and thickness were just right. She began to frantically wrap the bandage around her exposed skin to prevent herself from scratching.

She was wearing loose pants and her legs were extremely itchy, so she had to lift her pants all the way up to her thighs and bandage them.
