The tall figure of the man approached, blocking the little light above her head, making her side seem even dimmer.
"Bored?"
Pei Xiqing blocked his nose with a tissue and asked, "What's wrong?"
"I've taken too much tonic." Her voice was a little muffled, and she raised her head to stop the nosebleed from continuing to flow. "I've never taken tonics like this before. It's so strong that it's making my liver fire so strong. I think I really need to eat something to clear away heat and fire, otherwise I'll have a nosebleed again soon."
Duan Xiaolin wiped the blood from her nose from her neck and frowned slightly: "Tian, starting tomorrow I will push those tonics for you, but you still have to continue taking some tonics."
"What a waste." She rubbed the tip of her nose. "I'm very touched by everyone's concern. If I keep doing this, I'm afraid I'll have nosebleeds in the middle of the night."
"I'll do as you say."
Pei Xiqing stood on tiptoe to look behind him.
"You actually know all this. Is the base in big trouble right now?"
"It's not too serious. Starting repairs now won't be affected much by the ground conditions."
"Yeah." She was indeed a little bored staying in the house. After arriving at the construction site, she took the man's hand and walked around, looking here and there, asking questions when she didn't understand. After listening to him explain a bunch of professional terms, she was a little amazed. "This underground base is really amazing. It can maintain all the operations of daily life. It seems that the designer and builder are very capable people."
"The headquarters actually has an underground base as well."
"Hmm? Really?"
"But the underground base must be opened in advance. If you miss the deadline, it will just be a decoration."
"No wonder." Most of the people in the headquarters were stubborn and confident in everything, but they didn't expect that they would fail because of this in the end.
She was still walking around casually when there was a loud noise above her head.
I almost couldn't stand.
Duan Xiaolin supported her and glanced at the passage above his head: "I'll take you there first."
Pei Xiqing shook his head. "It's okay. This base isn't that big. It only takes me about ten minutes to walk there. What happened up there? An earthquake?"
"It should be the magnetic field of the thunderstorm that covered it, and at the same time caused some incidental crustal movement."
"Is it serious?" Pei Xiqing touched the pillar next to him and could feel a few vibrations coming from above through the pillar.
Judging from the reactions of the people around, they seemed to have gotten used to it and did not show any obvious emotional fluctuations. They just looked up slightly and then continued with what they were doing.
"It doesn't look too serious, but it's better to check what they're doing." She asked herself, then answered, "Then I won't rush to leave. I'll walk a little further. If you're busy, go ahead. I'll meet you at the store ahead."
"Don't go too far." The man warned.
Pei Xiqing smiled, her eyes crooked. "The base is only this big, how much further can I go? Hurry up... By the way, Brother Duan, how have you been contacting San She and Qiu Chao these days?"
"There are many methods within Franlon. Why are you asking this all of a sudden?"
She pressed on, "Because I'm curious. We have a lot of inconveniences here, and traffic signals are blocked. How did Brother Duan contact them thousands of miles away?"
"Touchi?"
"Uh-huh."
Duan Xiaolin chuckled in her ear: "I gave you the communication instructions."
"Oh! I remember now." Pei Xiqing coughed and turned away awkwardly: "I didn't forget, I just didn't react."
She heard a hint of embarrassment in the man's tone.
Pei Xiqing's cheeks flushed: "I see. I'm leaving first. Be careful and come back early. I'll wait for you to have dinner together."
Duan Xiaolin stared at her hurriedly leaving back, and understanding appeared in his eyes.
