After tidying up the wood and stone, Xi Xi finally returned to the car. Without even having time to drink some water to calm down, Xi Xi picked up the and began to examine it.
This is a slightly rough piece of yellow paper, which feels just like yellow hemp paper made of cork oak. The ink-colored characters are not legible, but one can feel the deep and vigorous strokes. Intricate cinnabar patterns are also drawn around the characters.
The talisman felt heavy in my hand, and for some reason, it seemed to be filled with an unknown power.
Xi Xi remembered how the light screen had been activated before. She followed the same method and silently said "activate" in her mind. Sure enough, the paper talisman, which had been somewhat heavy, suddenly floated up, trembling as it left her palm, and then flew to the car window and stuck firmly to the glass.
A burst of eerie blue light ignited the paper talisman. Xi Xi saw the dark runes twisting and turning with the flames, and all the windows inside the car, including the front and rear windows, burst into eerie blue flames.
Xi Xi reached out and quietly approached. The flame had no heat; only scorched paper scraps scattered in the air. The flame quietly went out, and the scene inside the car was completely different.
A barely noticeable long strip button appeared above the car window. With a light touch, the retractable curtain slid down from top to bottom and adhered tightly to the car window.
Xi Xi also noticed that there was an extra layer of light gray screen on the inside of the original car window. These were not high-tech gadgets, but they still made Xi Xi, who had not seen much of the world, briefly marvel at the paper talisman's ability to "create something out of nothing".
[Item Description: Vehicle Curtain Component. It consists of two parts: a curtain and a sheer curtain. When both vehicle curtains are opened to create a closed space, the vehicle's presence can be concealed to some extent (using only one curtain is ineffective); using either sheer curtain automatically activates the air filtration function.]
Unexpectedly, the seemingly ordinary car window curtains actually had such functions, and Xi Xi immediately felt that she had hit the jackpot! Both the ability to conceal one's presence and the air filtration were invaluable extra benefits. Concealing one's presence meant that one could avoid risks to a certain extent, and the air filtration was even more so.
Xi Xi suspected that she had underestimated Liu Yunyan's luck. She thought that she was extremely unlucky to have opened three boxes and not gotten any water. It turned out that there really were people who could get such good items from the beginner boxes.
Liu Yunyan (Xiao Ji): "Xi Xi, thanks to you, I feel much better!" When Liu Yunyan sent the message, Xi Xi had just finished fiddling with the built-in screens on the car windows and was now studying the curtains on the windshield.
Liu Yunyan : "But I feel something's not right... That daddy's boyfriend is being attacked by everyone on the public screen, will that affect you?"
What kind of "daddy's boy"? Xi Xi, who was engrossed in her research, was completely bewildered. When she opened the public chat, she saw that everyone was spamming the screen with their comments, which were full of hostility and accusations directed at a person named Lin Hao.
Liu Yunyan : "That's Lin Hao who keeps shouting 'My dad! My dad' on the public screen! You don't know, this 'prodigy' has been howling on the public screen for ages, as if he's afraid people won't know what his dad does."
Liu Yunyan : "He has a car refrigerator. He sells a 330ml can of iced Coke in half, and only exchanges it for fresh food or items he has never seen before."
Now Xi Xi understood everything. Her request for "any goods" contrasted sharply with Lin Hao's high standards for the transaction, and the masses were using her as a pawn. These people didn't genuinely think she was kind; they were simply mocking the rich second-generation heir, and she had inadvertently become both the pawn and the scapegoat.
Xi Xi (Xiao Ji): "..."
Xi Xi (Xiao Ji): "It should be fine. I only sold one bottle because I only had one bottle. One bottle is not a threat to him."
Liu Yunyan was deeply moved. The fact that Xi Xi only had a bottle of chilled plum juice meant she wasn't well-supplied either, and yet she was given an extra bottle of purified water. Wasn't this girls helping girls? So when Xi Xi pressed Liu Yunyan about why she hadn't exchanged the car window curtain charm with Lin Hao, Liu Yunyan honestly revealed her true nature, indignantly hurling all of Lin Hao's absurd remarks at Xi Xi, some of which were so offensive they left Xi Xi stunned. Ah, thought she was a cute girl, but actually a female knight-errant?
When Xi Xi heard Lin Hao say, "Whose car doesn't have curtains?", well... Xi Xi felt like she was being subtly insulted.
Because her beat-up car didn't have curtains... Unlike Lin Hao, a nouveau riche, who drives a high-end car with all sorts of amenities, or Liu Yunyan, a girl who uses black plastic sunshades to avoid getting tanned, she was just a miserable office worker who wanted to sleep a little longer in the morning!
Without Liu Yunyan's reluctance to part, Xi Xi casually made up an excuse to turn off the light screen.
She checked the current supplies and her remaining stamina. Aside from the 1 stamina point used to install the insulation shed, she had used another 26 stamina points to chop trees and rocks, leaving her with a total of 31 stamina points. She also had 48 pieces of ordinary wood, 28 pieces of ordinary stone, 2 pieces of deadwood, and 2 pieces of gravel. "Better safe than sorry," Xi Xi thought to herself before continuing her journey.
The sun was already high overhead, and outside the car window, besides the endless yellow sand, there were large pebbles scattered everywhere, with the reddish-brown rocks standing out conspicuously under the blazing sun.
Even with an insulated roof, the sunlight couldn't completely block the car from shining through, and the temperature inside gradually rose. A wave of heat swept over, and the sweltering air felt scorching her respiratory tract. Xi Xi frowned and had no choice but to draw the curtains on both sides of the back seat.
