Chapter 153 Imperial Relatives



Xi Xi turned around without making a sound, glancing once more at Sallyman, who was busy dealing with the rat carcasses, and Chu Zhiqin, who was keeping watch at a high level. Then, she quietly took out the fragments of the diary on pages 3 and 5 that she had obtained earlier from the railway station from the golden lucky bag.

After all, she hadn't been honest with Sallyman about the railway issue in a timely manner.

Bringing up this matter again at this point would seem abrupt and unnatural, as if all the previous exchanges were just insincere pretense.

Rather than doing that, we might as well take advantage of this gruesome skeleton and try to cover up the two fragments of the railway diary.

So, Xi Xi deliberately quickened her pace and moved to Chu Zhiqin's side, handing the three fragments of the diary she was holding tightly to her mother.

Chu Zhiqin, having experienced much in life, instantly understood Xi Xi's intention. Her face flushed slightly, and with a somewhat embarrassed yet delighted exclamation, she took the fragments of the diary and then pretended to reread them.

Xi Xi couldn't stand watching her mother act, as she was too prone to bursting into laughter, so she quickly looked around while Chu Zhiqin was engrossed in reading.

Sure enough, in the corner where the sewer turned, she found a faint trace of a campfire that had once burned.

However, the marks were already blurred and indistinct, and water was still dripping from the surrounding walls, washing over them again and again. If Xi Xi hadn't been so observant, she probably wouldn't have noticed them.

Next, Xi Xi moved to the edge of the sewer sink. She bent down slightly and kicked a stone into the sink with force.

With a muffled "plop," the stone fell into the water, splashing up a small spray.
