"Oh dear, ancestor, stop yelling..." Chu Zhiqin was already feeling a bit dizzy, and she couldn't stand this noise right now.
She casually tossed two smaller fish to the little white duck and Aura, who then settled down with the fish in their mouths.
Outside the car, rain and seawater still mingled, making it impossible to distinguish which were tears from the sky and which were calls from the ocean.
On the sea, mist rises, blurring and blurring distant scenery. Only the nearby waves, reflected in the rain, appear exceptionally clear and real.
The second net yielded half a bucket of tiger prawns. A huge wave crashed in, tilting the car at a 45-degree angle. Xi Xi quickly reached out and gripped the windowsill tightly, while simultaneously pulling hard on the fishing net, not daring to let go for a moment.
The shrimp basket, which had just been tied up, lost its balance under the powerful impact and slid straight into the car with a "whoosh." The shrimp, which had been quietly waiting in the basket, were startled and began to jump wildly, their long antennae still covered with bits of seaweed.
With quick reflexes, Xi Xi scooped up the few tiny, unrecognizable pieces of seaweed, a surge of hope rising within her.
There's something to it! There really is seaweed here!
Although they weren't whole seaweed pieces, and the specific species was unclear, being able to hook these fragments was enough to prove that seaweed resources did indeed exist here. Thinking of this, Xi Xi suddenly felt a surge of energy.
"Let's cast another net!"
"..." In comparison, Chu Zhiqin was far less energetic than Xi Xi today.
As the waves crashed in ever more violently, the intense seasickness gnawed at her cerebellum like a demon.
A wave of nausea surged through her, almost unbearable. Only when the squid hidden in the shrimp basket sprayed ink onto her face did Chu Zhiqin scream as if waking from a dream.
Xi Xi was startled by her mother's sudden shout. She almost dropped the fishing net in her hand. Then she looked down and saw that the little white duck and Aura beside her mother's feet had also been caught in the crossfire.
The once snow-white duckling has now turned completely black, and Aura has completely shed her original image as a cow cat, becoming a large, jet-black cat.
After being cleansed by the rain, the seafood not only appeared fresher and plumper, but also more robust and vigorous. The tiger prawns struggled in the net, while the squid tried to break free with its agile tentacles.
"Hahahahahahahahahaha—"
When Xi Xi burst into laughter, Chu Zhiqin suddenly felt much better. As a mother, she hadn't seen her daughter laugh so happily in a long time, so she couldn't help but grin as well.
His face, covered in ink, grinned, revealing a set of big white teeth, making him look even more comical.
Xi Xi couldn't help but burst out laughing at the sight, but the squid was relentless and launched another attack. The next second, she was covered in ink herself.
Aura had never seen anything like this before and was so frightened that its fur stood on end. Its eyes widened in terror as it stared at Xi Xi, who was covered in ink stains, and the squid that was still spraying ink. It didn't know whether to put its raised paw down or not.
Finally, the little white duck leaped down and tumbled in the rain, bringing Aura back to its senses. Seeing that Xi Xi and Chu Zhiqin were already laughing so hard they were doubled over, it meowed awkwardly twice, and then tiptoed away, trying to save face.
"Hey, don't go too far! If you make a mess of the house, I'll teach you a lesson!" Chu Zhiqin pulled Aura back with one hand. In her heart, she had obviously already regarded this RV as her "home".
With a swift stroke, Xi's mother dealt with the unusually active squid, handed the ink sac to Xi Xi, then casually wiped the ink off her face with some rainwater, and laughed, "Goodness, wait until I weave this waterproof coat, then let's see how arrogant you can be!"
"What materials do you need for a waterproof coat?" Xi Xi asked while drying her hair. She hadn't really looked closely at her mother's notes on blended fabrics.
"Let me think... Oh dear, I'm getting old, I can't quite remember, it seems like it involves deep-sea crystallization, and..."
Another deep-sea crystal?! Xi Xi was startled. The thought of using her only deep-sea crystal to create the Sea-Suppressing Soul Pearl was already painful enough; now, even weaving a waterproof garment required a deep-sea crystal?!
She involuntarily looked down at the feather gloves in her hands. According to her mother, these gloves were immune to all poisons and were made by blending various materials, which showed how rare they were.
Or, how about we use the magic pen to draw a few more pairs?
As dusk fell, they hauled in their last net in the pouring rain. The net seemed to be stuck in the reef area, and Xi Xi felt the rope vibrating violently.
"Put some effort into it! Hiss... Could it be some kind of big fish?" Chu Zhiqin said through gritted teeth as she exerted brute force.
However, what she pulled up was a great disappointment—it was a tangled mass of golden-brown algae, like a mess of hair, interspersed with a few broken shells and barnacles.
Just as Chu Zhiqin was about to slash the net with her knife, Xi Xi suddenly grabbed her wrist.
“It’s seaweed!!” Xi Xi’s voice trembled. She picked up a clump of seaweed and looked at the sky. The filamentous stems and leaves were covered with pearl-like air bubbles.
Yes, it doesn't have to be wakame seaweed, sea lettuce will do too!
"Dragon's Beard Seaweed?" Chu Zhiqin had never seen this kind of seaweed before. It looked like a messy clump of brown wig and didn't seem like something edible at all...
"Don't underestimate seaweed, there are so many ways to eat it!" Xi Xi explained to her mother, rummaging through the seaweed in the net. The seaweed was tightly tangled in the net ropes, making it quite difficult to handle.
