Chapter 253 Summoning the Convenience Store

Caught between a rock and a hard place, it's better to find a safe haven.

According to game conventions, Xi Xi personally believes that NPCs must be immortal—so NPCs' houses must be the most sturdy, able to withstand at least a magnitude 10 earthquake, let alone a blizzard.

[Item Description: One-time consumable. After using a Summoning Ticket, wait in place overnight. The convenience store will teleport to the summoner's vicinity before 6 AM the next morning.]

That being said, Grandma You's convenience store still hadn't gone online after midnight. Xi Xi thought she would have to stay up all night until 6 a.m., but it turned out that the convenience store quickly teleported over in about an hour.

In the surveillance footage, the convenience store lights looked particularly warm amidst the blizzard. Through the blurred glass windows, the neatly arranged goods on the shelves could be vaguely seen.

"Let's pack up and go to the store." Xi Xi briefly explained her idea to Chu Zhiqin, and then began packing her hiking backpack.

Aura stayed close to the heated car wall. Fortunately, the wall wasn't an open flame, so the cat hair didn't catch fire, but it was slightly charred and emitted an indescribable smell.

Xi Xi frowned, unzipped her coat, placed the little white duck on her chest, and pushed Aura to her mother with some disgust, which caused the cow cat to "curse" loudly.

Fully armed, the two carefully opened the car door. A biting wind immediately rushed in, feeling like countless icy blades cutting their faces.

But Xi Xi was prepared. She used a heating talisman and put it in her pocket. She held her mother's hand tightly and walked step by step toward the convenience store.

A sign that read "Open for Business" was pasted on the glass door of the convenience store. When the door was pushed open, a noticeable warm current flowed in, and the crisp sound of wind chimes echoed in the empty store.

The shelves were filled with all sorts of goods, from food to daily necessities. A cup of steaming tea sat on the checkout counter, as if someone had just left.

"Grandma You? Are you there?" Xi Xi called out towards the inner room, her voice echoing in the shop, but she received no response.

It was Chu Zhiqin's first time seeing a supply station. She looked around warily and curiously. She had thought that the convenience store would be as "high-tech" as the Dongli Post Station, but she did not expect it to be such a simple and unpretentious little shop.

Even though it's a small shop, it's still incredibly well-stocked for adventurers in the survival world.

Suddenly, her gaze fell on the self-service checkout counter in the corner. The counter's interface lit up and emitted a faint static.

"This is the self-checkout counter. Welcome, my customer! This is a self-checkout point. Please place your purchased items in the designated area. The store will automatically recognize the items and process the payment. We only accept payment via survival points..."

Xi Xi knocked on the door of the inner room of the convenience store. This was the inner passageway where she had stayed before, and she remembered it very clearly.

The convenience store was quiet; it seemed like no one was there.

Xi Xi paced back and forth for a while before noticing that the ostrich Barrett was not waiting at the door either. So, Grandma You really wasn't in the shop.

"Could it be another rare copy?" Xi Xi shook her head, thinking that the game shouldn't be so unoriginal.

She turned around and looked at the supplies in the store. They were plentiful, but unfortunately Grandma You wasn't there, so she couldn't restock and could only buy the items already on the shelves.

"Let's buy some first." Xi Xi put aside the idea of buying on behalf of others for the time being and said to Chu Zhiqin. The two of them then picked up shopping baskets and started browsing.

Although the most important thing is to have enough food, Xi Xi also included snacks at this time, since these are essential for watching TV series and she was looking for something to eat with her meals.

All told, Xi Xi hasn't encountered a supply station since she started surviving in the desert, which shows how low the probability of a supply station being randomly generated is.

With that in mind, she stopped being picky and took whatever flavors were available, including braised chicken feet, hot and sour noodles, rice noodles, self-heating hot pot, Anhui-style flat noodles... she ate everything she liked and had never tried before.

"Hey, when did these extra freezers appear here?" Xi Xi only noticed the extra row of freezers when she walked to the back of the convenience store—two open-style refrigerated freezers and two closed-style freezers.

Just then, Chu Zhiqin walked over carrying a full basket of flour. Her gaze was also drawn to the row of freezers, and a look of delight appeared on her face.

Some frozen processed foods lack cooking tutorials, making it difficult to replicate without knowing the specific proportions. This limits their tolerance for error and prevents them from bearing the consequences of multiple failed cooking experiments. Therefore, they can only cook dishes they already know how to make.

Now, the variety of food options for stocking up has increased again—beef balls, crab sticks, sausages, hand-pulled pancakes, fish roe buns, crispy fried tofu rolls, tempura... Although it's not comprehensive, it has all kinds of basic frozen ingredients.

Xi Xi and Chu Zhiqin started working, carrying baskets of frozen ingredients they didn't know how to cook back to the RV's refrigerator, filling it to the brim in no time.

The mother and daughter spent almost all of their hard-earned survival points before they were able to move most of the supplies from the convenience store.

Looking at the remaining goods, Xi Xi pondered for a moment, then took out a piece of cloth and spread it flat on the ground.

Next, she placed the loose food items and unused household goods from the convenience store on a cloth and adjusted the light screen camera to take pictures.

Xi Xi (Ping): "Supplies for sale, brand new and unused, clearly priced, no bargaining, first come, first served. (Screenshot)"

That's right, she's not going to do commission-based purchasing anymore; this time she plans to resell at a higher price.
