Chapter 34 Automated Driving

Suddenly, a loud knocking sounded from the window, which startled Xi Xi.

She glanced at the central control screen and realized it wasn't her imagination; a green dot on the screen was moving along with the car.

"What is that?" Xi Xi reached out and cautiously pulled back a corner of the curtain again. As the curtain was lifted, her heart skipped a beat.

A large, round, snow-white face was pressed against the glass as the car sped along. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be none other than the little white duck that had been acquired just yesterday.

The little white duck's bright black eyes were looking at Xi Xi, with a hint of resentment in them.

"Stop, stop the car!" Xi Xi shouted, directing the automated components to bring the car to a slow stop. She touched her nose, feeling a little guilty, and looked out the window.

"Hi~" She gently pressed the button, the car window slowly rolled down, and she said softly with a half-smile.

Before she could finish speaking, the little white duck suddenly swayed, its previously outstretched wings quickly folded, and its whole body trembled and swayed before it limply fell into Xi Xi's arms.

"Oh no! How could I have forgotten about this!" Xi Xi thought to herself, realizing something was wrong.

She almost forgot that ducks are cold-resistant but not heat-resistant!

The scorching sun made the ducklings scalding hot, and their originally white and fluffy feathers became droopy. Xi Xi placed the little white ducklings on the passenger seat, and after realizing that they could still get sunlight, she quickly picked them up and moved them to the soft, cool carpet.

Immediately afterwards, Xi Xi hurriedly got out of the car and quickly walked to the roof of the car.

She reached out and groped around for a while, finally finding the empty candy jar. She quickly returned to the car, slowly poured cool, clean drinking water into the jar, and gently held the jar to the little one's mouth.

The little white duck, already somewhat drowsy, struggled to open its eyes, slightly opened its beak, and barely managed to peck at a few mouthfuls of sweet water.

Perhaps because it was too weak, it collapsed again after only drinking a few sips of water.

Seeing this, Xi Xi frowned and became increasingly anxious.

Without the slightest hesitation, she quickly tore open a bag of bread, carefully shredded it into small pieces, then picked up a piece of bread crumb, moistened it with water, and offered it to the little white duck's beak again.
