The smoke talisman trembled and drifted into the distance. As soon as it landed, the white smoke spread out at an astonishing speed, like a thick veil, shrouding everything in a hazy and chaotic state.
Five seconds was far too tight; Xi Xi's heart was in her throat, and every step she took felt like walking on thin ice.
She covered her mouth and nose with one hand by turning up her collar, and gripped the sickle handle tightly with the other, ready for any eventuality. Then she jogged quickly through the bat cave.
As Xi Xi ran, she thought to herself, "I only have one smoke talisman. If I turn back, won't I be unable to do the same thing?" Then, could she run quickly and then leap into the water...?
She didn't know how long she had run, but when she realized that everything behind her was still quiet and nothing had happened, Xi Xi finally felt relieved. She stopped, panting, and leaned against the cave wall to rest for a while.
Once her breathing had calmed down, Xi Xi reopened the map on the light screen and immediately spotted the distant red dot and the treasure chest right in front of her. Her spirits lifted instantly, and she quickened her pace involuntarily.
They encountered another stagnant pool along the way. Fortunately, this pool wasn't deep, but Xi Xi still rolled up her trouser legs with some annoyance and carefully waded across the water.
Before long, Xi Xi arrived at the end of the cave. She stopped, zoomed in on the map on the light screen, and examined it repeatedly, a hint of doubt in her eyes.
Finally, she fixed her gaze on the stone wall in front of her, hesitated for a long time, and then reached out and pushed hard. Unexpectedly, a rumbling sound rang out, and the stone wall moved back a few millimeters.
Xi Xi was startled and cautiously took a step backâshe never expected that the stone wall was actually a hidden stone door.
