"I was so scared! I was sleeping soundly and I was woken up..."
"Grandma, it's only 6 o'clock now, can we do it later? Okay."
What is the pronunciation of "夕 with the character 食" next to it?
"What do you mean by 'food, clothing, shelter, and transportation'? It's just about food, clothing, shelter, and transportation, isn't it? Damn it, I hate pretentious people the most."
...
Xi Xi didn't have much energy to focus on the public chat. At this moment, she had only one thought in her mind: to get back to the car as soon as possible. She casually turned the light screen dial, then looked around trying to find the car's location.
However, not only was it invisible to the naked eye, but even on the pixel map, it was a desolate wasteland with no trace of a road. Clearly, because the entrance to the canyon and the exit from the canyon were not in the same place, coupled with the various unexpected situations along the way, she had unknowingly deviated from the route she had come from.
Xi Xi frowned and rubbed her sore shoulders, having no choice but to resort to the same trick again. She took out the she had recently acquired, silently recited a mantra, and saw the talisman slowly rise and float gently in the air.
Without delay, Xi Xi immediately set off, running madly in the direction the talisman was moving. Fortunately, she soon found her way back, and the familiar car came into view.
From afar, Xi Xi saw the burning talisman circle the car, sparks flying everywhere, before disappearing into the air. Strangely, she didn't see any obvious changes in the car. Just as she got closer to the car, Xi Xi suddenly noticed something moving behind the car curtain. Upon closer inspection, she saw it was the shadow of a cute cat's head.
Xi Xi's heart softened. "Ora!" she called out the kitten's name as she quickened her pace toward the car. Xi Xi opened the car door and, sure enough, saw the kitten standing by the window, its little head tilted up as if trying to look out.
Upon hearing the sound, Aura jumped and immediately ran over happily. It rolled over and lay sprawled at Xi Xi's feet, exposing its soft belly, meowing incessantly, looking like it wanted to be petted.
Upon seeing this, Xi Xi's face immediately lit up with a smile. She knelt down and gently stroked Aura's soft fur with tender and delicate movements.
However, at that moment, she caught a glimpse of the scene inside the vehicle out of the corner of her eye, and her lips twitched involuntarily. One of the supply sacks, which had been placed on the back seat, had been ripped open, and the various supplies inside were scattered haphazardly on the floor.
Especially the two corn sausages, which looked rather tattered, with two deep teeth marks clearly visible on the plastic shell.
"..." Xi Xi almost choked on her breath. She gritted her teeth, grabbed Aura by the back of the neck with one hand, and lifted her up. This guy, he pulled this stunt on her the moment she wasn't careful, huh? "You wait, I'll deal with you properly later!" With that, Xi Xi got out of the car angrily to check the situation.
Walking to the car, Xi Xi looked at it again and again, only noticing that the base of the car seemed a little higher than before. Apart from that, she couldn't see any other changes, so she gave up. She then went to the roof, lifted the eaves fabric, and saw the sleeping little white duck, which immediately put her at ease.
Xi Xi carefully picked up the little white duck and, looking at its adorable sleeping face, her anger subsided considerably. Just as she was about to leave, she was pleasantly surprised to find two duck eggs in the corner of the ceiling!
The desert temperature would rise quickly, so Xi Xi carried the little white duck back to the car and gently placed it on the carpet as usual. Then, she picked up the two duck eggs, examined them carefully, and put them in the car refrigerator for safekeeping.
"Meow~" Seeing its owner return, Aura meowed a few more times in a fawning manner. Xi Xi turned her head and glared at it, then put her index finger to her lips in a shushing gesture. Aura immediately understood and obediently shut its mouth and stopped making a sound.
After settling the little white duck in, Xi Xi then carried Aura out of the car. The kitten, upon seeing the sand, instantly became excited and began frantically rummaging through the sand, as if it had found a huge litter box, freely expressing its natural instincts.
“Aura, look around. This isn’t the world we used to know…” Xi Xi crouched down, gently stroking Aura’s head. Her voice was gentle, yet tinged with a hint of melancholy. She slowly began, “Every bite of food here is incredibly precious. From today onward, no food can be wasted. If you don’t want to eat something, you won’t get to eat it. Do you understand? Aura, I know you understand!”
While saying this, Xi Xi kept her eyes fixed on Aura, her gaze revealing an unprecedented seriousness and earnestness.
Perhaps startled by her owner's sudden, sharp gaze, Aura, who had been happily digging in the sand, suddenly stopped, her little paws dangling in the air, looking somewhat bewildered.
After a moment, it seemed to come to its senses, timidly letting out a weak "meow," and took small steps to Xi Xi's side, affectionately rubbing its fluffy little head against her palm.
"Go ahead," Xi Xi said, dismissing the kitten and letting it dig its own hole. Afterwards, Xi Xi patiently instructed Aura that if it needed to relieve itself in the car, it should call out by scratching at the window. Aura quickly mastered this new skill and demonstrated it several times with impressive skill.
After completing her learning task, Aura jumped back into the car contentedly, found a comfortable corner, curled up quietly, and began to carefully lick and groom her fur.
