Chapter 10: Digging a Big Hole, Enough for Three People

"Help! I don't want to die!"

"Mom, I want to go home!"

"Sir, orc, please let me go!"

"..."

The battle had already turned in one direction. With no decent resistance, the orcs were like hungry wolves entering a sheepfold, slaughtering indiscriminately.

Everywhere there were cries and pleas for help from the workers, but the orcs couldn't understand what they were shouting; they only found the sounds more exciting.

At this point, who can save them?

"Will, tell me, will they kill you first, or chop me up first?"

Looking at the hellish scene before him, Joey asked Will beside him in a low voice.

Will, who was initially terrified by the impending death, became much more resigned and at ease when he saw Joey still having the leisure to joke around at this point.

"They'll definitely chop you up first; you've already angered them enough!"

"I don't think so. You know I speak orcish, right? Maybe they want a translator or a guide, and I'd be perfect for that!"

"Traitors?"

"Uh... it means traitor!"

"Would you become a traitor?"

"You think I wouldn't? When people are truly facing life and death, they'll do anything to survive! Never test human nature; very few people can withstand the test!"

"But I think you're one of the few who can withstand the test!"

"Hmm? Why are you so optimistic about me? We don't seem to know each other that well, do we?"

"You don't seem like someone who's afraid of death at all. Someone who's afraid of death would be crying and wailing over there!"

"But you didn't cry and wail, you didn't scream and shout. Aren't you afraid of dying?"

"I was quite scared just now, but I'm not scared anymore!"

"Is this even possible?"

"I don't know why, but it feels weird being with you. I feel like you're influencing me!"

"Will, let me tell you, I'm straight and I'm not interested in guys. You can't fall for me. Even if you do, you'll have to line up behind those girls!"

"Pah, pah, pah, what are you saying? You're quite an interesting person!"

"You don't like me? Oh, that's a real shame. I'm very likable. It's your loss if you don't like me!"

"Come on, why aren't you afraid of dying? I really want to know before I die!"

"So what if I'm dead? Everyone dies eventually. Death can be heavier than Mount Tai or lighter than a feather. Maybe I'll transmigrate again and be able to delete my account and start over!"

"Time travel? Deleting my account and starting over?"

"Well... that's why I'm not afraid of death. If you don't die today, you can savor the experience later!"

"You think you can survive today? But what you said really doesn't make sense. Take this 'Mount Tai' for example, I've never heard of such a mountain before!"

"Maybe I really don't have to die!"

Joey suddenly lowered his voice and winked at Will.

Will looked in Joey's direction and saw a head with completely soaked hair pop out on the riverbank, with water still dripping from the two large, twisted beards.

"That is..."

Will was immediately overjoyed. He looked around and saw that the orcs around him were busy hunting down the fleeing workers. No one noticed that the bearded man had returned.

"Shh-"

Joey immediately made a shushing gesture to avoid attracting the attention of the other orcs.

Seeing that Will had cooperated and quieted down, he cast an inquiring glance in the direction of the bearded man.

The bearded man understood immediately and made a gesture with his hand.

What does this mean?

Will couldn't understand the meaning of the bearded man's gesture, so he tried to imitate it himself.

"Oh, this is my secret code with the bearded man; it means the matter is settled!"

Joey explained to Will that this internationally recognized hand gesture was something the bearded man had learned from him when they were together.

Will understood the meaning of the gesture, but he didn't know what Joey meant by "things are done".

Just as he was wondering, the wooden bridge that had been standing steadily on the river began to shake violently.

"&……%¥#(*&!"

The orcs crossing the wooden bridge panicked, shouting as they desperately pushed their way forward, trying to get across before the bridge collapsed.

However, because the orcs on the bridge were pushing and shoving each other, the bridge pillars that could have held up for a little longer immediately broke.

Then came a chain reaction: several more of the bridge's pillars broke, and the beams and planks that were built on top began to fall into the turbulent river below.

Thump, thump...

Except for five orcs who rushed to jump onto the riverbank, the rest of the orcs began to fall into the river one after another.

The orcs who had just jumped ashore didn't have time to rescue those who had fallen into the water. They glanced at the river and prepared to kill a few workers to vent their anger, but just as they turned around, they happened to spot the bearded man lying on the bank.

"%……&*#@#¥%!"

They immediately shouted and charged at the bearded man with their axes.

"Holy crap, how did they find me?"

The bearded man dared not stay lying down any longer, so he immediately got up, not even bothering to brush off the mud, and charged towards Joey and the other man.

Do you still think we won't die today?

Seeing the bearded man lead five orcs toward him, Will calmly asked Joey a question.

"This is something I never expected. My own brother is extremely unpredictable!"
