"What's wrong?"
Joey had just run out when he looked at the bearded man and asked.
"Legins is back!"
The one who answered Joey wasn't the bearded man, but Carl, who had arrived at some unknown time.
"What happened? Didn't he go out?"
Joey had previously received news that Leggins had hurriedly left the tobacco field, and he was relieved, hoping that Leggins wasn't even in the tobacco field, giving them ample time to leave safely.
"I don't know either. A member of the tribe just saw him rush back. Judging from his expression, he seemed very scared!"
Carl relayed what his people had told him to Joey.
"Afraid? There aren't many people in this Sandstone City who could frighten him!"
Joey looked puzzled. It seemed that what was happening in the city was not so simple. Many people were involved, and they were some of the main figures in Sandstone City.
"Joey, it seems your planned departure won't go so smoothly!"
Carter also looked worried. For someone who had lived here for so long, tonight's events were too unusual, and he had a new perspective on leaving tomorrow night.
"Let's wait and see. Have your people keep an eye on Leighins; after all, he's carrying something extremely dangerous!"
Karl understood what Joey was saying, and he nodded solemnly in order for his people to leave safely.
"Captain, it looks like someone's coming!"
Sergeant Medes watched as a short man walked quickly toward them from a distance.
"It looks familiar!"
Joey watched the figure getting closer and closer.
"Camille!"
Carter was the first to recognize the approaching figure as Camito, and he shouted loudly.
"Oh, Cartel, my friend!"
"I swear on my beard, you'll never guess what news I've brought!"
Camito had already approached the group, and it was indeed Camito.
"You're not going to talk about Leggins, are you?"
Carter blew on his long beard and looked at Camito with curiosity.
"My God, Carter, did the Mountain King's hammer hit you on the head? When did you become so smart?"
Camillo looked disappointed, and his initial excitement diminished considerably.
"Then tell us, we'd like to know exactly what happened to Leggins."
"It seems you still don't know!"
Camillo became happy again, which made him seem important once more.
Joey also became serious. He was quite concerned about Leggins' situation, after all, they were currently on his territory, and the lives of the Draenei in tomorrow night's escape plan were closely related to him.
"Lykins betrayed the city lord, betrayed Sandstone City! He's the one who let the orc army into the city!"
Seeing everyone's expectant faces, Camito didn't keep them in suspense.
"betray?"
The cartel was the first to be shocked.
"Lykins holds a high position in Sandstone City, and managing the tobacco fields is a lucrative job!"
"Who says otherwise? If I had his treatment, I would be absolutely loyal to the city lord!"
“That’s the two of you. You’re not Leggins. He’s a businessman who’s not simple. When the profits are big enough, betrayal is just a piece of cake. He’s capable of risking his life for it!”
Joey had read a rough draft of Das Kapital. These capitalists had no moral or legal constraints; all they cared about was money. Of course, the amount of money was beyond the reach of Cartel and Camito.
"So he failed and escaped back?"
Joey then asked another question.
"The defeat may not be yet. I met him at the city gate when I followed Duro there. The city gate is currently being guarded by Duro and his men!"
"That dwarf?"
"Yes!"
"It seems your city lord is not so foolish after all; he has already made arrangements!"
Joey glanced at Carter and Camito and said approvingly.
"That's probably it. Judging from Duro's expression, he seemed to have anticipated what would happen today, but he didn't expect Leigh to get involved. He seemed quite surprised tonight too!"
"This is getting more and more interesting!"
"Did you chase after him here?"
Cartel then asked another question.
"Um!"
"Then don't leave. We plan to leave tomorrow. Liya hasn't seen you for days and misses you terribly. Why don't you go see her?"
Cartel wanted Camito to stay, after all, he had come to this sandstone city with him from Baikanburg, and he had some selfish motives.
Camito didn't agree immediately. Instead, he turned to Joey. He had caused these people quite a bit of trouble, and he worried that not everyone would welcome him.
"Stay!"
"Joey said softly."
Camillo gave him a grateful look, but didn't say anything more. Then he followed Carter to the back, presumably to find Lia.
Joey thought tonight would pass by peacefully, but reality slapped him in the face, and in a bad way.
"Joey, someone else is coming!"
The bearded man had no desire to sleep and kept a close eye on the situation outside.
At that moment, he saw a tall, thin figure walking towards him.
"Legins?"
Although they were still quite far apart, Joey had already recognized the man as Leigh Kings.
"Mr. Joey, I'll have to leave for now!"
Karl didn't leave tonight either. He thought he could lead his people away from this place tomorrow, but the events of tonight disturbed his peace of mind and made him uneasy.
