Chapter 178 The Grand Master's Summoning

Levia's expression also turned sour. This was the first time Joey had seen Levia in this state; it was a contradictory expression of intense anger that she was unable to vent.

"Hmph, although I can't do anything to you lot, the Mountain King you're talking about is long dead!"

"Your proud Mount Baikan is now the lair of that black dragon, especially you bronzebeard dwarves, who are now like stray dogs, wandering aimlessly!"

After saying these words, Levia's expression relaxed, as if she had vented a lot of her anger.

"You old elven woman, the King of the Hills is not someone you can casually comment on. Your elven race can't even produce a few newborns a year these days, and you'll disappear from this continent sooner or later!"

Martha couldn't stand it and confronted him directly.

"The three of us are in our prime and will give birth to new bloodlines for our people in the future, so you don't need to worry about us!"

Leiflia seemed to have been hit where it hurt, and her momentum noticeably diminished.

"Hmph, a bunch of hens that can't lay eggs, how dare you?"

Martha gave a dismissive look, but her fighting prowess remained explosive.

"You little dwarf girl, we elves were originally too conservative, but the Sunwell has given us new inspiration. In the future, we can find some decent human men to marry, and then we can have children like humans!"

Seeing that Leiflia hadn't gotten any advantage over Martha, Chris also came over and spoke softly to Martha, without the slightest fear in her expression.

Looking for humans?

This statement truly shocked Martha. In her understanding, the elves had always been extremely fanatical about the purity of their bloodlines. They considered themselves a noble and ancient race, and given their extremely long lifespans, they never allowed elves to intermarry with people of other races.

"Of course, but you dwarves have no chance. This time, only the human race has been selected for the revelation!"

After saying this, Chris looked at Joey with an ambiguous gaze.

(Hey, don't look at me like that! I feel like I've suddenly turned into a stallion!)

Joey felt uneasy under Chris's meaningful gaze.

Although he didn't really mind helping the beautiful female elves of the Elf race reproduce, being stared at like that still felt a bit strange.

"Hmph, who cares? We dwarves have plenty of beautiful girls and strong men!"

Martha completely ignored Chris's words. After speaking, she walked to the bearded man's side, took his arm, and seemed to deliberately declare their love.

"snort!"

Chris also stopped talking.

"Alright, alright, it's just a meal. We've made plenty of food today, it's just a matter of adding a few more bowls and chopsticks!"

Joey sensed the growing tension in the air and quickly stepped in to smooth things over. With a major battle imminent, it was best to form a united front and put aside internal conflicts; the priority now was to unite against a common enemy.

"no!"

"no!"

No sooner had he finished speaking than Martha and Levelia objected in unison.

“Joey Brown, we have no desire to eat with these filthy dwarves!”

"Joey, we don't want to eat with these annoying long-eared rabbits either!"

The two sides glared at each other, neither intending to back down.

"Martha, let's eat first, I'm hungry!"

The bearded man didn't share Martha's hostility towards these elves; he was more concerned about his stomach.

"Leviathan, Chris, that girl's birthday is the day after tomorrow, and we still have the Sunwell Revelation quest to complete!"

At this moment, Yi also came over and offered a word of advice.

"snort!"

"snort!"

They glared at each other and then walked into the room one after the other.

It seems that on matters of principle, both sides are able to temporarily set aside their differences and compromise to stay under the same roof.

Joey was the last to enter the room, and what suddenly happened left the cook both amused and exasperated.

"Wow, this is so delicious! I'm so glad I can finally eat Joey's cooking again!"

That's the bearded man's voice.

"It's really delicious! It's several times better than the leftovers I had at Medes!"

That's Martha's voice.

"Joey is really amazing!"

That's Liya's voice.

Joey closed the door and looked at the bearded man wolfing down his food; his eating habits were truly wild.

Meanwhile, Levia and the other two put down their chopsticks and frowned as they watched the bearded trio devour their food. Their appetites seemed to have been completely shattered at that moment.

This meal became the domain of the three bearded men, who paid no attention to the gazes of the three female elves and ate heartily on their own.

...

"Knock knock knock—"

After a third of the food on the table had been eaten, there was another knock on the door.

"How strange, what day is it today that so many people are coming to see me?"

Joey muttered to himself as he walked to the door and turned the handle.

"Medes?"

The person standing at the door was none other than Sergeant Medes.

"Captain Joey, Archmage Melder is looking for you. He wants you to go to the castle's council chamber!"

After Medes finished speaking, he turned his head and looked behind Joey.

"You're not here to freeload, are you?"

Joey ignored Medes' words and stared at Medes with narrowed eyes.

"No, how could that be? I've already eaten!"

Medes straightened his posture and resumed his serious expression.

"real?"

"Really! But I'm still not full. If you, Captain, would like to invite me to eat some more, I would gladly accept!"

Medes lowered his voice, seemingly lacking confidence.

"Hey kid, go eat. We won't miss your bowl and chopsticks!"

Joey walked straight behind Sergeant Medes, gave him a push, and shoved him into the room.

"Sam!"

"Medes, you're here too?"

"Hehehe, just passing by!"

"Greetings, Your Excellencies!"

Medes had a fear of being controlled by shapeshifting magic, and still held a sense of awe towards Levia and the other two.

"I'm going out for a bit, you guys keep eating!"

Joey didn't go back inside. Instead, he said something to someone inside the house and then turned and walked towards the castle's council chamber.

He had no intention of staying here any longer. He felt like a rat caught in the middle, suffering from both sides, so he might as well take this opportunity to slip away.

At this point, Levia seemed to have no intention of continuing to deal with Joey and remained silent.

Chris just gave Joey another ambiguous look and winked at him.

Joey understood perfectly and could only plan to take Catherine as his first wife before considering becoming an elven stallion.
