Chapter 193 Flying Kites

"Ding ding ding..."

A barrage of arrows pierced Hellfire's body. Although he was made of stone that emitted green flames, it did not prevent the sharp arrows from breaking through his armor and penetrating his body.

Joey's shark bow was constantly in use, without any rest.

Although the hellfire was covered in arrows, its movements were not restricted. It continued to chase after Joey, trying to close the distance between them and deliver another solid punch to Joey.

"This efficiency is really too low!"

Joey didn't know if the Hellfire really had a long health bar or if his ordinary arrows were just too weak, so he started complaining too.

Joey looked at how few arrows had been taken from his pouch in an instant, and he still felt a pang of regret. Although he was already considered a wealthy man, his good habit of being thrifty and frugal remained unchanged.

Following Joey's complaint, the previously unremarkable Shark Bow underwent a change.

Its body began to glow white, and faint blue seawater drifted around the Shark Bow, causing the shadows cast by the arrows on the longbow to become distorted.

This is somewhat similar to when I was training in the wild, except that back then the Sea Shark Bow was absorbing the white light, while now the white light is being released outwards.

Joey considered this a good sign, so he didn't stop what he was doing and continued to draw the bowstring taut.

"Splash!"

Suddenly, the head of a white shark phantom appeared in front of the longbow, its head perfectly covering the tip of the arrow.

call out!

The white shark phantom flew towards Hellfire with arrows in its wake. As it approached Hellfire's head, it suddenly opened its maw full of sharp teeth and slammed into Hellfire's body. The spot where Hellfire was hit suddenly lost its green flames, and the arrows easily and completely pierced into its body.

"roar!"

Hellfire let out a scream and stopped chasing Joey, shaking his legs violently in an attempt to relieve his discomfort.

"That Sea Shark Bow is awesome!"

Although Joey had read a lot of books and had many adjectives in his head, at this moment, he still felt that the word "awesome" best suited his current mood.

The warlock who had been watching Joey and the Hellfire fight from a short distance away couldn't sit still any longer after seeing this.

He looked anxious and, not caring whether Joey would target him, ran straight towards the location of Hellfire.

He raised his staff towards the tormented hellfire, and a beam of green light shot from his staff, striking the struggling hellfire.

The hellfire fell silent instantly, its physical form seemingly frozen in time, completely still.

"Is this a sign of surrender?"

Joey was quite pleased to see that Hellfire was no longer moving.

"I accept that surrendering means losing half the battle!"

Joey was still muttering to himself, completely oblivious to the sorcerer's venomous gaze.

"Bang!"

An explosion was heard.

The hellfire, which had been motionless, suddenly exploded and scattered on the ground, while the arrows that had been stuck in the hellfire were now scattered all over the ground.

"Self-destruction?"

Joey didn't understand the warlock's actions at first and thought that the warlock was a sore loser, so he directly detonated the Hellfire.

However, Joey quickly understood the warlock's intention. The scattered fragments of hellfire came back to life and gathered in two directions. Before long, two smaller hellfires appeared in front of Joey.

"Asexual reproduction? And the more they're killed, the more there are?"

Joey was a bit dumbfounded; this Hellfire, as a warlock's main pet, was indeed quite troublesome.

The two Hellfires, now half their original size, had barely appeared when they rushed toward Joey again. It seemed that although they had become two, the memory of the big guy was still undoubtedly in their minds.

Joey devised a strategy as he ran, but ultimately decided to repeat the same trick.

As he ran, his hands were not idle; he continued to craft Frost Traps and casually tossed them at the feet of the two Hellfires.

"Snap!"

"Snap!"

The two Hellfires were hit again, and their movement speed was greatly reduced.

"What a pair of big, dumb oafs!"

Joey chuckled; the brainless Hellfire wasn't actually that scary.

The warlock, witnessing this familiar scene, was on the verge of tears. After all, these hellfires weren't Gundams; he couldn't actually enter their minds to control them.

Joey had hoped that the Shark Bow would continue to shine and that he could use that move again, but after several arrows that he had placed his hopes on, the Shark Bow remained as if it were asleep, without any change.

Last time, the Sea Shark Bow was absorbing white light, and it's estimated that the absorbed energy was only enough for one use. So no matter how hard Joey tried, he couldn't unleash the second amazing burst of damage.

"Alright, let's just keep this up!"

Joey had plenty of arrows in his pouch. Having figured out the Hellfire's pattern, he was much calmer and even generously took out a few explosive arrows to add some excitement, intending to wear down the Hellfire in front of him.

Joey fired several arrows behind him, then moved forward to create some distance. As the Hellfire approached, he threw two more Frost Traps to slow them down, and then fired a few more arrows.

Afterwards, Joey called this style of play "flying a kite"!

The enemy is like a kite in your hand; you can always hold it tight and make it fly higher if you want to.

"boom--"

After a while, the two hellfires collapsed and never got up again. The warlock, however, was still unwilling to give up. He stood there staring at a pile of broken stones, trying to wave his staff, completely ignoring Joey standing in the distance.

"Sizzle!"

A steel sword pierced through the sorcerer's chest.

He turned his head away unwillingly, looking at Joey who had a smug look on his face.

"I forgot to tell you, I'm actually a melee hunter too!"

Joey raised his left foot and kicked the warlock forward. No matter how unwilling he was, there was no going back now.

"Killing Hellfire is a piece of cake!"

"Killing warlocks? So easy!"

Joey put the steel sword back at his waist, and the Hellfire, which had been shattered into pieces, suddenly turned into a ball of white light and flew into the Shark Bow.

Joey understood immediately and looked up in the direction where the bearded man and Medes were fighting.

"Wow, those two are pretty brave!"

The sight before him made Joey sigh with admiration, and he couldn't help but give a thumbs up to the bearded man and Medes.
