"Hey, look at that Joey, he's taken down another sorcerer!"
While standing on the city wall, Chris took a break from fighting the Hellfire to check on Joey's situation. Seeing that he had killed another warlock, she was overjoyed and ran over to Leviathan to share the good news.
"Hellfire is immune to magic attacks, so its physical attacks are more suitable for it than ours!"
Levia directly pointed out the key to Joey's ability to defeat the warlock faster than the three of them, but Chris didn't seem to buy it and still looked at Joey with eyes full of love.
"Look at those humans. They're brave enough, but there's really no one who could kill a Hellfire and a Warlock in such a short time!"
Chris really had a soft spot for Joey and kept speaking up for him.
"He's so powerful, he should be here helping us deal with these hellfires, instead of just sitting down there watching!"
Seeing that Joey had killed the sorcerer and was now sitting on the ground resting with Big Beard and Medes, completely indifferent to the situation, made Levia very unhappy.
"Perhaps he was tired; after all, killing two warlocks is no easy feat!"
Chris activated the magic on her staff, keeping the shield on the city wall erect and slowing down the Hellfire's attack.
...
"Joey, are we just going to watch like this?"
The bearded man looked at the Alliance and Horde still locked in fierce combat ahead and asked somewhat uneasily.
"Let's take a break, we'll go later. We've already killed two warlocks, we've paid a heavy price for this battle!"
Joey lay down immediately. He was indeed exhausted. His hands were raw from making the traps. His frost traps had been the most worn-out part of the battle.
"Captain, why don't you rest, and I'll go first?"
Medes has the honor of being a Cavalier, and the league's daily professional ethics prevent him from resting as easily as Joey.
"Oh, go ahead then. Just remember not to die. I, the acting squad leader, don't have many men left!"
Joey gave Medes a word of advice, and the latter responded and hurriedly ran towards the battlefield.
"Big Beard!"
Seeing that Medes had already walked away, Joey sat up straight again.
"Um?"
The bearded man turned around in confusion and looked at Joey.
"You'd better be careful later. You need to be extra careful on the battlefield. Although you're not usually very shrewd, you need to be more careful now. I don't want anything to happen to you!"
"Don't worry, Joey, I'll be fine. The King of the Hills will protect me!"
"I think you're just being fooled!"
"You want to..."
"I plan to go to Ashfury City to help out. After all, the orcs' real target is Catherine in the castle! Although they haven't breached the city gates yet, I suspect the core of their attack lies inside the city!"
"Alright, go ahead and protect Catherine!"
"Um!"
Joey responded, and the bearded man, watching Medes's retreating figure, rushed over in that direction.
Joey stared gravely at the gates of Ashfurnace City, where many hellfires still raged and were fiercely attacking the city walls.
"Joey Brown, you chose this path yourself. You couldn't live a comfortable life, you had to be a hero, so you have to pay the price for being a hero!"
Joey encouraged himself and then ran wildly toward the city gate.
"Hey, Leviathan, what did you just say?"
"What's wrong?"
"That human named Joey Brown actually came to help!"
Seeing Joey running towards them, Leiflia didn't say what she had been holding back. Instead, she looked at Joey with a complicated expression.
"Whoosh whoosh whoosh..."
Joey took the Shark Bow off his back and loaded it with explosive arrows. At this point, he was no longer stingy and wanted to finish the battle quickly. The key was to show off in front of the three female elves; he had to look cool.
"Boom boom boom..."
The explosive arrows struck the Hellfires, sending sparks flying. Their attack on the city wall slowed down, and several Hellfires, enraged by Joey, stopped attacking the city wall and pounced on him instead.
"Activate the shield and let me in first!"
Joey called out to the three female elves on the city wall. He had no intention of taking on several hellfires by himself right now. If something went wrong, losing his life would be a small matter, but losing face would be something he could never make up for.
"Come in quickly!"
Chris opened a small hole in the shield she was supporting, and at the same time, she had the soldiers around her throw down rope ladders.
"You're so sensible, Lady Chris!"
Joey winked at Chris and ran quickly toward the rope ladder.
"See that? This human is flirting with me!"
Chris felt a surge of smugness.
"Bang bang bang..."
The giant fists of Hellfire slammed into the already closed shield. Although they exerted all their strength, they failed to break the shield. Only the fine sweat on Leiflia's forehead indicated that the intensity of the attack had also taken its toll on her.
"Lady Leviathan, Lady Chris, and Lady Leviathan, you've had a long and arduous journey!"
Joey greeted the three female elves as soon as he arrived and praised their work. Although Joey was not the leader, he still knew how to say nice things.
"Alright, help us create a barrier around these hellfires!"
Levia glanced at Joey and urged him to get started.
