Banus stopped in his tracks as he was about to hand over the letter.
"Your Excellency, Mr. Charlie has been kidnapped. The kidnappers are demanding a ransom of 500 gold coins. The location is that wooden cabin!"
"Kidnapping? A ransom of 500 gold coins? And the location chosen was that secluded wooden cabin?"
“I don’t think my son is worth 500 gold coins at all; I think even 5 gold coins is too much!”
The mayor smiled indifferently at the contents of the letter, as if the kidnapped child was someone else's son, not his own.

"He can just have another child after his son is gone. I'll pick a good burial plot for him!"
A smoke ring came out of the mayor's mouth, and it was clear that this was a cigar of excellent quality.
"Bring your men, don't let them escape this time!"
His eyes turned fierce, and he was full of confidence in this encirclement and suppression.
"yes!"
After hearing the mayor's words, Banus turned and walked out to start arranging manpower to complete the task.
After Banus left, the mayor placed his unfinished cigar on the edge of the long table, took out a piece of white paper, and began to write on it.
Then he took a carrier pigeon from the room, tied the letter he had just written to its leg, and released it through the window.
The carrier pigeon flapped its wings and flew northwards.
