Chapter 96 Mage Joey?

When the sun is directly overhead.

Joey and his group arrived at the gate in front of them.

Who are those two people?

The gatekeeper of the tobacco field opened the small window, and Joey, Big Beard, Martha, and Digger stood outside.

However, Wawa was not questioned by the gatekeeper. This simple-minded dog-headed man was not someone who needed to be questioned.

"Oh, this is my assistant. After all, this is a big deal with Mr. Leakins, and I can't manage without a few helpers!"

Before coming, Joey had already prepared his answer, so when the gatekeeper asked him, he answered without hesitation.

The gatekeeper nodded, thinking it made a lot of sense.

He opened the door and let Joey and the others go inside.

Led by Joey, the four walked towards the smelting furnace.

The bearded man and Martha were very curious throughout the journey, finding everything in the tobacco field quite novel. Martha, in particular, had never been to the tobacco field, which was off-limits to outsiders, even though she had lived in Sandstone City for over a decade.

The appearance of the Draenei here is so striking that she could go on and on about the bearded man for ages.

The group walked for a short while before arriving at their destination.

The smelting furnace in front of her was indeed covered in rust, but when Martha first saw it, she did not show any disgust because of the rust. On the contrary, her eyes were filled with joy and anticipation.

"This is the smelting furnace that my father used back then. It was huge!"

Martha looked up at the tall exhaust pipe, unable to suppress the smile on her face.

The bearded man was also shocked by the enormous smelting furnace.

Perhaps the genes for smelting and forging already exist in the bodies of every dwarf, only to be activated at some point.

"Mr. Joey!"

A figure emerged from behind the smelting furnace; it was Lakins.

Martha's eyes immediately became wary.

Although Joey had already told Martha and Big Beard what had happened on the way here, Martha still couldn't control her emotions when Leigh Kings, the lord's right-hand man, was actually standing in front of her.

"Mr. Legkins, greetings!"

Joey walked in front of Martha and shielded her behind him.

He didn't want the girl to lose her composure, after all, now was not the time to cause a rift.

Who are these people?

Leigh looked at Martha and the bearded man, especially the kobold who was always with Joey.

As far as he knew, the kobolds seemed to be a simple-minded bunch who never got close to humans. When their group encountered humans, only one side would survive.

"Oh, my assistants, Martha, Sam, and this kobold named Wawa!"

Joey introduced several people to Leggs one by one, but the little black thing on his head was not included in the introduction.

"As you can see, such a large smelting furnace cannot be operated without a few skilled workers!"

"Luckily, I have a few good dwarf friends who are more knowledgeable about this than I am!"

Leggins approached the group, looked them over one by one, and finally walked past Joey, stopping in front of Martha.

Martha became even more nervous.

"Are you Cartel's daughter?"

Leigh Williams pushed up his glasses with his left index finger.

“Yes, Carter is my father!”

Martha forced herself to remain calm and answered Leigh's question.

"That's really true, haha!"

"I'm one of your father's admirers. He was in charge of the old city lord's smelting furnace back then, and he made a lot of money for the city lord!"

Leaks had a friendly smile, but given his somewhat sinister-looking face, one couldn't help but feel that his words weren't entirely reliable.

Martha didn't respond to him.

Leigh could only laugh awkwardly and then walked around to Joey's side.

"Since you, Lord Leggins, are so familiar with Carter, you must understand his smelting skills. Martha is his daughter, so she can't be too bad!"

"Of course!"

Suddenly, Leggins reached out and grabbed Joey's hand, leading him to the other end of the furnace, seemingly wanting to speak to him privately.

"Mr. Joey, did you deliver all this ore today?"

Leighins pointed to the piles of ore stacked high on the ground next to the smelting furnace, a white light shining through his glasses.

He was still quite shocked by the sudden appearance of these ores.

He had already asked the gatekeeper, and Joey had come alone the previous times without any transport vehicles following him. With so much ore appearing here, Leigh Kings began to speculate about Joey's true identity.

A mage is a high-level profession that can communicate with the elements.

They can not only summon exceptionally powerful elements to assist in battle, but also activate teleportation arrays at a location to transport people and other items to different places.

And Joey seems to possess that ability.

"Mr. Lekins, this is my secret, and I cannot disclose it at this time. Please forgive me!"

Joey, of course, had no idea what Leggins was thinking, but he didn't want to make it public that he owned this magical fanny pack; it wasn't something that was good for publicizing.

As for what Leggins is thinking, that's his business, and Joey doesn't want to guess. Anyway, no matter how much he tries to guess, he won't figure it out.

"A secret? Well, everyone has their own secrets!"

Leggins was 70% certain that Joey was a mage in disguise.

Such generosity—conjuring up a bunch of items that don't belong here out of thin air, and even having a kobold as a follower—is something not everyone can do.

When Leigh initially saw the ore lying on the ground, a hint of greed arose in his heart. He thought about secretly killing Joey and taking the ore for himself.
