Chapter 92 Tiger Peak is Captured
Yueqing jumped off the silver tiger's back, regained her human form, and hugged the child tightly.
The child seemed to sense the tense atmosphere, clutching her clothes tightly with his little hands and blinking his big eyes as he looked around.
"We must develop a battle plan," Silver Tiger said in a deep voice. "Rushing in rashly will only increase casualties."
Yu Yun then walked to Yue Qing's side: "Yue Qing, I just remembered something. As the headquarters of the Beast God's ritual, Li Suo City may have other plans. I have spies there, so perhaps I should stay and continue to monitor them."
After thinking for a moment, Yueqing nodded: "You're right. We can't just focus on the present; we must guard against their subsequent actions."
“Then I will stay in Lisuo City.” Yu Yun’s tone was firm. “If there is any unusual activity, I will immediately send a message to you.”
Hu Xiao asked with some concern, "Brother Yu Yun, isn't it too dangerous for you to go alone?"
"Don't worry, I'm better at infiltration and intelligence gathering." Yu Yun patted Hu Xiao on the shoulder. "You guys focus on rescuing the Tiger Clan, I'll keep an eye on the Beast God Priest's lair."
Yin Hu nodded in agreement: "Dividing the troops into two groups is indeed a wise choice. Yu Yun, you must be careful."
"I will." Yu Yun glanced at Yue Qing, hesitated for a moment, but finally agreed, "Take good care of yourself and the child."
After saying that, Yu Yun turned and left, quickly disappearing into the woods.
As Yueqing watched his departing figure, a complex mix of emotions welled up within her.
She was not unaware of Yu Yun's feelings for her, but now was not the time to consider those things.
"Let's move on," Silver Tiger commanded in a low voice.
The group cautiously approached the tiger clan's territory.
As they drew closer, they witnessed an infuriating scene.
The tiger tribe's totem poles were toppled, their tribal flags were torn to shreds, and traces of battle were everywhere.
What's even more infuriating is that Elder Xue is standing on the steps of the Tiger Clan's council hall, surrounded by a dozen men in black, smugly directing his men to search the area.
"That traitor!" Hu Xiao gritted his teeth, his fists clenching so tightly they cracked.
"Calm down." Silver Tiger pressed down on his shoulder. "The most important thing now is to rescue the clan leader and the others."
Yueqing carefully observed the surroundings and suddenly noticed a detail: "Look, there are guards at the dungeon entrance over there, but not many. The clan chief and the others are likely imprisoned there."
The cat spirit said softly, "We cats are good at stealth, so we can go and scout the situation first."
"No," Yueqing shook her head, "I'll go."
"You?" Silver Tiger frowned. "Too dangerous."
“My squirrel form is the smallest and the least likely to be spotted.” Yueqing handed the child to Yinhu. “Besides, I am quite familiar with the terrain of the tiger clan.”
Yin Hu took the child, and the little guy babbled in his arms, clutching his clothes with his tiny hands.
Yin Hu looked at the baby in his arms, then at Yue Qing's determined eyes, and finally nodded: "Be careful."
"Wait for my signal." After saying that, Yueqing transformed into a nimble little squirrel in a flash.
She moved swiftly along the branches, avoiding the guards patrolling on the ground, and soon approached the dungeon entrance.
Sure enough, there were only two guards here, chatting idly.
"I really don't know what the point of capturing these old guys is. We can't kill them, and we can't release them."
"Elder Xue said to keep them as hostages, in case that Silver Tiger comes back, they can still use him as a threat."
"Silver Tiger? I've heard he's very powerful. Can we really beat him?"
"What's there to be afraid of? With Elder Xue as our inside man, all the secrets of the Tiger Clan have been uncovered."
Yueqing listened to their conversation and became even angrier.
She quietly circled around to the dungeon's ventilation shaft and crawled inside through the narrow passage.
The dungeon was dark, damp, and reeked of a foul odor. Yueqing carefully made her way through the cracks in the rocks and soon heard a familiar voice.
"Chieftain, how are your injuries?"
"It's alright, I'm just worried about Hu Xiao and the others' safety."
It's the clan leader's voice!
Yueqing was overjoyed and quickened her pace to climb toward the direction from which the sound came.
Soon, she saw the Tiger Clan's high-ranking members locked in a cell.
Hu Feng sat in the corner, his face pale, with a strip of cloth wrapped around his left arm, clearly injured.
Besides him, there were several elders and warriors of the Tiger Clan, all of whom were core figures of the Tiger Clan.
Yueqing regained her human form and softly called out, "Clan Chief!"
"Yueqing?" Hu Feng looked up abruptly, his eyes flashing with surprise when he saw her. "What are you doing here? Where's Hu Xiao? Where's the child?"
“Everyone is safe,” Yueqing said quickly. “Silver Tiger has brought the allied forces of various tribes to rescue you, and Tiger Roar is outside as well.”
"That's wonderful!" an elder exclaimed excitedly. "We thought..."
"Shh!" Yueqing gestured for silence. "This is not the time to be happy. How are your injuries? Can you move around?"
Hu Feng struggled to his feet: "We're all fine, but we were drugged and can't exert any strength for the time being."
"What medicine?" Yueqing frowned.
“A paralyzing drug that will prevent orcs from transforming and greatly reduce their strength,” another elder explained.
Yueqing's heart sank. In that case, even if they were rescued, they would not be able to participate in the battle for a short period of time.
"Clan leader, why did Elder Xue betray the Tiger Clan?" Yueqing couldn't help but ask.
Pain flashed in Hu Feng's eyes: "At first I didn't know either. Later, I found out that his son died at the hands of the Beast God Priest. But Elder Xue always thought that I ordered his son to be killed, which is why he betrayed the Tiger Clan."
"These beasts!" Yueqing gritted her teeth. "They'll stop at nothing!"
Just then, footsteps could be heard outside.
Yueqing immediately transformed back into a squirrel and hid in a crevice in the rocks.
"You old guys inside, behave yourselves!" a gruff voice rang out. "Elder Xue said that as long as you cooperate, she won't hurt you."
Tiger Peak snorted coldly: "My Tiger Clan would rather die than submit!"
"Heh, you're pretty tough." The man sneered. "Wait until Silver Tiger is caught too, then let's see if you're still so tough."
The footsteps faded into the distance, and Yueqing reappeared.
"Chieftain, I must go back and report to Silver Tiger and the others so they can prepare for the rescue."
"Yueqing, be careful," Hu Feng said worriedly. "Elder Xue knows our Tiger Clan too well; they must have set a trap."
"I know," Yueqing nodded. "Don't worry, we will definitely rescue everyone."
After saying that, she transformed back into a squirrel and quickly returned along the way she came.
When she returned to Silver Tiger's side, she found everyone waiting anxiously.
"How is it?" Silver Tiger asked immediately.
Yueqing regained her human form, took the child, and quickly reported the situation in the dungeon.
"A numbing drug?" Jin Lie frowned. "In that case, even if we rescue the clan leader and the others, they won't be able to fight for a short period of time."
"Moreover, Elder Xue is definitely waiting for us to walk into her trap," Yin Yue analyzed.
