Chapter 548 Sealing

Chapter 548 Sealing

At the edge of the vortex, black mist surged.

Yueqing forced himself to stand up and stared at the center of the deep pit.

"It must be sealed away," she gritted her teeth. "We can't let this thing out."

Yin Hu supported her, saying, "Don't push yourself in your current state."

“It’s not about being brave.” Yueqing shook her head. “The vampire leader said this is a trap, and they lured us here to break the seal.”

The saber-toothed tiger walked to the edge of the deep pit, its huge head sticking out to observe: "The seal has loosened, and it will completely collapse in three days at most."

"Is there a way to reseal it?" Silver Tiger asked.

“Yes.” Yueqing recalled what she had seen on the stone tablet, “The secret arts of the Holy Clan record the method of sealing.”

She closed her eyes and recalled the images in her mind.

The runes reappeared and combined to form the complete ritual steps.

“We need an array that uses life force as its energy source.” Yue Qing opened her eyes, her expression grave. “But the cost will be high.”

How big?

“A sacrifice,” Yueqing said softly. “It requires a powerful life force to be sacrificed, using all of its life force to maintain the seal.”

After he finished speaking, everyone fell silent.

The daughter hugged Yueqing's leg: "Mom, no!"

The son's tentacles clung tightly to the silver tiger: "Even your father can't!"

"Don't be afraid." Yueqing patted her daughter's head. "I just said there is such a method, I didn't say that you have to use it."

“But there is no other way,” the saber-toothed tiger said. “I have heard of the sealing method; it requires a sacrifice to activate.”

Yin Hu walked up to Yue Qing and said calmly, "If someone has to sacrifice, then I will."

"You?" Yueqing frowned.

“I am of royal blood, and my vitality is strong enough,” Silver Tiger said. “Moreover, I am the strongest in combat, and my sacrifice will have the best effect.”

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Yueqing pushed him away. "If anyone should be sacrificed, it should be me. I just learned the secret technique of the Holy Clan, and my life force is purer than yours."

The two stared at each other, neither willing to give in.

"Stop arguing," the saber-toothed tiger said. "When it comes to vitality, who here can compare to me?"

It is the truth.

The ancient behemoths possessed vitality far exceeding that of ordinary orcs; even when wounded, they remained incredibly powerful.

"You?" Silver Tiger was stunned.

“I’ve had enough of living.” The saber-toothed tiger looked into the deep pit. “I’ve been asleep for so long, there’s no point in waking up. I might as well do something meaningful.”

“But…” Yueqing bit her lip.

The saber-toothed tiger saved her and helped them many times.

She couldn't just let it die.

"No buts." The saber-toothed tiger flicked its tail. "I did it willingly, you didn't force me."

"No!" the daughter suddenly shouted, "Nobody can go!"

Golden light erupted from her, more intense than ever before.

"There must be another way! There must be!" the daughter cried. "I don't want you to die!"

Her emotions were too intense, and Jin Guang began to lose control.

The light scattered and actually condensed into new runes in the air.

"This is..." Yue Qing exclaimed in shock, "The runes of the Holy Race?"

The daughter was unaware of what she was doing; she was simply releasing her power instinctively.

The runes multiplied, gradually forming a complex pattern.

The son's tentacles also extended, black patterns intertwined with golden runes.

"They are resonating," the saber-toothed tiger exclaimed in surprise. "The bloodlines of the two children are resonating!"

Yin Hu and Yue Qing looked at each other in bewilderment.

Once the runes were fully formed, they suddenly exploded, turning into countless points of light that fell on everyone.

An aged voice rang in my ears: "The bridge of blood connects life and death."

"Who?" Silver Tiger asked warily.

"I am the last guardian of the Holy Race," the voice said. "You have found another path."

"What road?" Yueqing asked.

"No sacrifice is needed; the seal can be completed through bloodline resonance," the voice said. "But it requires at least three powerful individuals with different bloodlines to simultaneously infuse their life force."

"So I won't have to die?" The daughter's eyes lit up.

"You won't die, but you'll be weak for a long time," the voice said. "And it has to be someone you share blood with, otherwise the resonance can't be achieved."

Yin Hu looked at Yue Qing, then at the two children: "The four of us?"

“That’s not enough,” the voice said. “We need a fifth person, as the core, to stabilize the formation.”

“Me,” said the saber-toothed tiger.

"No, your bloodline is too strong; it will suppress others," the voice denied. "It must be someone who can coordinate all bloodlines."

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a golden light suddenly shot out from the deep pit.

The golden light landed and transformed into a phantom human figure.

He was an old man, dressed in a holy clan robe, and his entire body was transparent.

"Guardians?" Yueqing asked in surprise.

"It's just a remnant soul." The old man smiled. "I was hoping to wait for a suitable person to inherit it, but instead, a disaster struck."

He looked at the two children, a look of relief in his eyes: "But it was worth it, to be able to witness such a pure bloodline resonance."

"Senior, who is the fifth person you mentioned?" Silver Tiger asked.

“Right here beside you,” the old man pointed to Yueqing. “There is another power dormant within her, but it has not yet awakened.”

"Me?" Yueqing asked, puzzled. "What power?"

“System,” the old man uttered the word.

Yueqing was startled.

Childbirth System!

“You transmigrators all have cheat codes, and this system is yours,” the old man said. “It has been helping you, enhancing your child’s talents and strengthening your abilities.”

“But it has never spoken.” Yueqing frowned.

"Because the time is not yet right." The old man raised his hand, and a beam of light entered Yueqing's body. "Now, it's time for her to wake up."

A mechanical voice suddenly echoed in Yueqing's mind:

Special circumstances detected; the birthing system activates emergency mode.

Mission: Assist the host in completing the sealing ritual.

Reward: System upgrade, unlocking new features.

“You…” Yueqing was stunned.

[Host, don't be surprised, I've been here all along.] The system said, "This seal requires me as the core to coordinate the power of all bloodlines."

"Will there be any danger?" Yueqing asked.

[Yes, but not fatal] The system says you will fall into a deep sleep for a period of time, the exact duration of which is uncertain.

Silver Tiger noticed her unusual behavior: "What's wrong?"

“The system…it says it can help,” Yueqing explained simply, “but I will go into a deep sleep.”

"how long?"

"have no idea."

Silver Tiger was silent for a moment: "Is there any other way?"

The old man shook his head: "No, this is the last chance. The aura of the Lord of the Abyss is getting stronger and stronger; if we don't seal it now, it will be too late."

As soon as he finished speaking, the vortex began to churn violently.

A giant arm reached out from it and grabbed the edge of the pit.

His arms were covered in black scales, each one exuding an aura of death.

"There's no time to hesitate!" the saber-toothed tiger roared.

Yueqing took a deep breath and looked at Yinhu: "Take good care of the child."

"Wait..." Silver Tiger tried to stop her.

But Yueqing had already rushed into the deep pit, his hands forming a mudra.

[Sealing Ceremony Begins]

Golden light burst forth from her body, outlining a massive magic circle in the air.

"Quickly!" the old man shouted, "You all come too!"

Silver Tiger gritted his teeth, grabbed the two children, and jumped into the magic circle.

The saber-toothed tiger followed, its massive body radiating golden light.

Five forces intertwined, forming a dazzling pillar of light.

The beam of light shot into the deep pit and collided with the black vortex.

The two forces canceled each other out, producing a piercing roar.

Yueqing felt her vitality rapidly draining away, and her body growing weaker and weaker.

"Hang in there, you're almost there," the system told me.

But at that moment, the arm suddenly exerted force, tearing open a corner of the seal.

"Not enough..." The old man's expression changed drastically, "The power is still insufficient!"

A strange voice came from the vortex: "Too weak. You think you can seal me?"

The Lord of the Abyss is about to break free from his seal.
