Chapter 528 Irresistible
The moment the light shield dissipated, Silver Tiger rushed onto the platform, trying to hug the two children.
But as soon as he reached out, a gentle force pushed him away.
The force was light, yet irresistible.
"Father." His daughter looked up at him, her eyes clear, yet something else was there.
Silver Tiger was stunned.
His daughter's pupils were pure gold, with fine black lines running deep within. Her aura had changed; she was no longer the little girl who would only cling to him and whine.
The son was the same. The little guy stood straight, surrounded by a faint golden light, and his face no longer showed his usual timidity.
"We have to go help Mother," the daughter said, pulling her younger brother along as they walked outside.
Silver Tiger snapped out of his daze and reached out to stop him.
The daughter turned around, her golden eyes fixed on him: "Father, trust us."
Silver Tiger opened his mouth, but ultimately lowered his hand.
He followed the two children out of the altar, where Hu Xiao and several warriors were guarding the outside.
"Silver Tiger, you—" Tiger Roar stopped mid-sentence when he saw the two children and froze.
The daughter and son walked side by side, and with each step they took, grass sprouted beneath their feet. The grass grew, blossomed, and bore seeds at a visible speed.
The withered trees around them are also reviving, with new buds sprouting from their branches, and birds landing on them and chirping.
"This..." Hu Xiao swallowed hard. "What's going on?"
Silver Tiger shook his head: "Don't ask, I don't understand either."
The two children walked quickly, with Silver Tiger and Tiger Roar following closely behind.
Not long after, a loud roar came from afar.
The daughter stopped and looked up in the direction the sound came from. Her little face was tense, and a barely perceptible worry flashed in her eyes.
"Mother is over there." After she finished speaking, she pulled her younger brother and quickened her pace.
——
On the battlefield, Yueqing punched the ancient tribe's king in the face.
The moment the fist slammed in, the ancient king's face caved in, his nose broke, and blood splattered everywhere.
But the ancient king merely shook his head and then tore Yueqing's shoulder apart with a claw.
The skin and flesh were torn open, exposing the bones.
Yueqing grunted, grabbed the ancient king's arm with his other hand, and slammed his knee into his abdomen.
Both of them staggered backward, bleeding from their bodies.
The ancient king wiped the blood from his face and burst into wild laughter: "That's it? How much longer can you last?"
Yueqing remained silent; she could feel the two energies within her body being rapidly depleted. The golden purifying power was healing her wounds, while the black destructive power was amplifying her attacks.
The two forces clashed, and each collision tore at her meridians.
But she can't stop.
If you stop, you're doomed.
She took a deep breath, and her figure disappeared again.
The next second, she appeared behind the ancient king and elbowed him in the back of the head.
Without turning his head, the king of the ancient tribe grabbed her arm and slammed her to the ground.
boom!
The ground was blasted into a deep crater, and debris flew everywhere.
Yueqing coughed up blood, turned over and got up, kicking the ancient king in the knee.
Crack.
The sound of bones breaking was clearly audible.
The ancient king knelt on one knee, but took the opportunity to grab Yueqing's ankle and slam her against the rock wall next to him.
The rock face collapsed, and Yueqing was embedded in it.
She struggled to crawl out, her body almost completely covered in sores.
"Damn it," she cursed, wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth.
The ancient king stood up, his broken knee healing at a visible speed. He moved his neck, the bones creaking.
"You're dead." He grinned, revealing a mouthful of bloody teeth.
Yueqing spat out a mouthful of blood: "Then I'll drag you down with me."
As soon as she finished speaking, the two forces within her suddenly went berserk.
Gold and black intertwined, forming a huge sphere of light that enveloped her entirely.
The sphere of light grew larger and brighter until it finally exploded.
The shockwave swept across the surrounding area, lifting the ground several meters off and turning all the surrounding rocks into dust.
The ancient king raised his arms to protect his head, but was still thrown hundreds of meters by the shockwave, crashing through dozens of trees before finally plunging into the mountainside.
Yueqing stood at the epicenter of the explosion, her body wreathed in interwoven gold and black flames. Her skin began to crack, and blood seeped from the fissures.
This is a desperate, all-out fighting style.
She knew she couldn't hold on much longer, but she couldn't care less.
Kill as many as you can.
The ancient king crawled out of the mountain, smoke rising from his body. His expression turned grim, and a hint of fear finally appeared in his eyes.
"Are you crazy?"
"Yeah, that's right." Yue Qing laughed, a bright, radiant laugh. "I'm crazy, so what?"
She rushed forward.
The two clashed again, their punches landing squarely.
Each collision unleashed a blinding light, and the surrounding space began to distort.
The ancient king punched Yueqing in the chest, breaking three of his ribs.
Yueqing gritted her teeth, grabbed his neck with her backhand, and dug her thumb into his eye socket.
"Ah—" the ancient king screamed as he kicked her in the stomach.
The object flew backwards and crashed into half of a mountain.
She crawled out of the rubble, her left eye blind, and half her face smeared with blood.
Even the king of the ancient tribe was not having an easy time; one of his eyes was gouged out, and his chest caved in.
The two stared at each other for a moment, then charged at each other simultaneously.
Just as they were about to collide, the sky suddenly brightened.
Two golden beams flew in from afar, moving as fast as shooting stars.
Golden light exploded between the two, forming a barrier that blocked the impending shockwave.
The smoke and dust cleared.
The daughter and son stood in the center of the battlefield, their bodies enveloped in pure golden light.
The two children raised their hands, widening the barrier and protecting Yueqing behind them.
When the ancient king saw the two children, his pupils contracted sharply.
"The Holy Race's legacy?" His voice trembled. "Impossible! This is impossible!"
The daughter didn't say anything, but simply raised her hand and gently squeezed it.
The king of the ancient tribe's expression changed drastically, and he turned and fled.
His figure disappeared into the distance, moving as fast as a ghost.
The daughter wanted to chase after him, but the son held her back.
"Sister, Mother is injured."
Only then did the daughter turn around and look at Yueqing, who was covered in blood.
Her eyes reddened, and tears welled up in her golden pupils.
"Mother..."
Yueqing opened her arms, and two children rushed into her embrace.
She hugged them tightly, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.
"It's alright, Mother is alright."
Silver Tiger ran over from a distance and stopped in his tracks when he saw the three people hugging each other.
Hu Xiao patted him on the shoulder: "What are you still standing there for?"
Silver Tiger then realized what was happening, strode over, and hugged the family of four into his arms.
The daughter, squeezed in the middle, mumbled, "Daddy, it hurts."
Silver Tiger loosened his grip slightly and looked down at her: "Are you... alright?"
“It’s nothing,” the son shook his head. “We’re fine.”
Le Qing leaned on Yin Hu's shoulder and said weakly, "The king of the ancient tribe has run away."
“That guy is seriously injured and won’t be back anytime soon,” Hu Xiao said. “Let’s go back first.”
Yin Hu nodded, picked up Yue Qing and the two children, and turned to walk back.
Behind them, the battlefield was a scene of utter devastation.
Trees collapsed, rocks crumbled, and the air was thick with the smell of blood.
But no one turned around.
Just being alive is enough.
