Chapter 570 The Giant Dragon Breaks Through the Clouds
The silver dragon broke through the clouds, carrying the tiger clan members northward.
The daughter lay on the dragon's back, her golden eyes filled with excitement. It was the first time she had ever been so high up, and the forest below had turned into a green ocean.
"Mom, look!" the daughter exclaimed, pointing into the distance. "There are so many birds there!"
Yueqing held her waist, afraid she would fall: "Don't move, hold on tight."
His son leaned closer, pressing his little face against the dragon scales. The scales were cool and had a metallic sheen. He reached out and touched them, his tentacles stirring restlessly beneath his clothes.
"Don't touch it." Silver Tiger pulled him back. "Don't let the tentacles out."
The son pouted: "I just want to touch it."
The saber-toothed tiger lay on the center of the dragon's back, its injuries not yet fully healed. It let out a low growl in response.
Hu Feng sat at the very back, his face grave. He wasn't sure if going to Dragon Valley was the right or wrong decision. But with the four divine realms eyeing them covetously, the Tiger Clan truly had no better option.
Yun Yuan stood on the dragon's head, his gray robe fluttering in the wind. He closed his eyes, as if sensing something.
"Senior," Yue Qing began, "how far is Dragon Valley?"
"We'll be there soon," Yun Yuan said. "We'll arrive in two more hours."
He had barely finished speaking when he suddenly opened his eyes.
The silver dragon let out a warning roar and spun rapidly in the air.
More than a dozen dark figures burst out of the clouds at an astonishing speed.
The leader was an elderly man in black robes, his face covered in wrinkles, his eyes cold and sinister. Behind him followed a dozen or so people also dressed in black robes, each exuding a dangerous aura.
"Yun Yuan," the black-robed elder sneered, "you really dare to bring outsiders back to Dragon Valley?"
Yun Yuan's face turned ashen: "Yun Sha! How dare you ambush me on the way?"
"Intercept and kill?" Yun Sha sneered. "I'm cleaning up traitors. Your unauthorized recruitment of outsiders has already violated the Dragon Valley rules."
"Bullshit!" Yun Yuan roared. "Dragon Valley has never had such a rule!"
“Now I have it.” Yun Sha raised his hand, black energy condensing in his palm. “If you know what’s good for you, hand over those two brats, and I might spare your life.”
Hu Feng's expression changed drastically. He hadn't expected that Dragon Valley was also in turmoil, and this treacherous situation would likely be even more difficult to navigate.
Silver Tiger shielded Yue Qing behind him, the power of the abyss stirring within him. But he forcefully suppressed it; using the power of the abyss now would be suicidal.
"Dream on." Yun Yuan sneered. "You think you can?"
"Then let's give it a try."
The cloud formation moved.
The black energy transformed into a spear and pierced towards Yun Yuan, moving at a speed too fast for the naked eye to perceive. Yun Yuan raised his hand, and silver light condensed into a shield to block the attack.
boom!
The collision of energies erupted in a blinding light, and the shockwave ripped through the surrounding clouds. The silver dragon roared as it steadied itself, its dragon might spreading outwards.
The black-robed figures behind Yun Sha attacked in unison, their various energies weaving into a net that enveloped the giant dragon.
"court death!"
Yun Yuan roared and swung his wooden staff through the air. A burst of silver light erupted, tearing the energy net apart.
But Yun Sha seized the opportunity to close in and struck Yun Yuan in the chest with a palm.
Bang!
Yun Yuan spat out a mouthful of blood and was sent flying backward. He tumbled several times in the air before barely managing to steady himself, his face pale.
"Senior!" Hu Feng exclaimed in surprise.
Yun Sha sneered: "Getting old is getting old. You still want to protect these useless people?"
The black-robed figures behind him all surrounded the silver dragon.
The daughter held her son, her golden eyes filled with fear. She could sense that these people were very strong, even stronger than the people from the Four Divine Realms before.
The saber-toothed tiger struggled to its feet, blood seeping from its fangs. It tried to charge forward, but its injuries were too severe, and it collapsed again as soon as it stood up.
"Don't move," Silver Tiger said, pressing it down. "You can't help."
Hu Feng gritted his teeth: "Form ranks!"
The tiger warriors formed a circle, but everyone knew it was futile. Their opponents were far stronger than them; forming a formation was merely a delaying tactic.
Yun Sha stared at the silver tiger, a greedy glint in his eyes: "Interesting, the power of the abyss can actually coexist with the power of life. It's a pity you will die today."
He raised his hand, and black energy condensed into chains that shot towards the silver tiger.
Silver Tiger tried to dodge, but the chains were too fast. Just as he was about to be hit, Yueqing suddenly blocked his way.
"Get out of the way!" Silver Tiger shouted.
"It's too late!"
Yueqing's life force erupted, and the golden light blocked the chains. However, she was already weak, and this attack almost exhausted all her strength.
Her body went limp, and Silver Tiger quickly supported her.
“Fool,” Silver Tiger said in a low voice.
"You can't die," Yueqing gasped for breath. "The child still needs you."
Yun Sha sneered, "How touching. Then let's die together."
The black-robed figures behind him attacked simultaneously, their various energies weaving into a net that enveloped the group.
Just then, the silver tiger moved.
He didn't use the power of the abyss, relying purely on his physical strength to charge towards Yun Sha. His speed was so fast that he left afterimages as he punched Yun Sha in the face.
Yun Sha's expression changed, and he raised his hand to block.
Bang!
Fist and palm collided, creating a shockwave. Yun Sha was forced back three steps, blood seeping from his tiger's mouth.
"Such a powerful physical body." Yun Sha narrowed his eyes. "It's a pity it's useless."
The men in black robes behind him had already surrounded him, and more than a dozen attacks fell simultaneously.
"Hurry up!" Yun Yuan propped himself up and stood up, waving his wooden staff in the air.
A burst of silver light erupted, forming a barrier to block the attack. However, his injuries were too severe, and the barrier shattered after only a few seconds.
Yun Sha shattered the barrier with one palm, and reached for Yun Yuan's chest with his other hand.
"You old bastard, prepare to die!"
boom!
Suddenly, the dragon's might erupted from Yun Yuan's body, and the silver light was so dazzling that people couldn't open their eyes.
"Oh no!" Yun Sha's expression changed drastically. "He's going to self-destruct!"
"run!"
The men in black robes retreated in unison, but it was too late.
A burst of silver light exploded, tearing apart the space within a hundred meters radius. Yun Sha was blasted away, his black robe ripped apart, revealing his charred skin.
The other men in black robes fared even worse; the weaker ones were blasted into a bloody mist, while the rest were also severely injured and collapsed.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, the silver dragon broke through the encirclement and carried the tiger clan towards the canyon ahead.
"Hurry!" Yun Yuan's voice was weak. "Go to Dragon Valley and find Yun Xi!"
As soon as he finished speaking, his body began to disintegrate, turning into specks of silver light and dissipating.
“Senior!” Hu Feng shouted.
But Yun Yuan could no longer hear it.
A burst of maniacal laughter came from behind: "Run? Do you think you can escape?"
He flashed and chased after the silver dragon.
The fog inside the canyon grew thicker and thicker, turning everything into a white expanse where nothing could be seen.
The silver dragon carried the group deep into the canyon, the maniacal laughter of Yun Sha fading into the distance. But soon, the surrounding mist swallowed them up.
"Damn it!" Hu Feng cursed. "There's something wrong with this fog; my senses are being suppressed."
Silver Tiger frowned as well. He could sense a strange force around them, as if it were disrupting their sense of direction.
The dragon circled in the mist a few times before finally landing on a flat piece of land. It let out a deep roar, its dragon might spreading outwards in an attempt to dispel the mist.
But it didn't work. The fog only got thicker.
