Chapter 612: Some Unusual Plague

Passing through the corridor filled with the smell of medicine, Eros found Father Aligado, who was also wearing a bird-beak mask and only revealed a pair of compassionate eyes.

At this moment, Father Aligado was gently stroking the forehead of a patient in front of him who had died of the illness, while praying devoutly.

I hope this poor soul can go to the Kingdom of the Lord, where he can enter into eternal rest and sleep, no longer having to worry about illness, pain, or suffering.

Eros did not interrupt, but stood quietly by the side, waiting for Father Aligado to finish his prayer.

Eros didn't have to wait too long, and soon Father Aligado finished his prayer.

He turned around and looked at Eros who was standing beside him, and asked in a gentle voice and soft tone:

"Is there something wrong?"

Looking at Father Arigato, who had a kind look in front of him, Eros politely stated one of the purposes of his visit:

"Father Arigato! My mother wants to provide some food assistance to those suffering people. What should we do?"

Upon hearing this, Father Arigato's eyes fell on Estelle beside him, and he said with gratitude:

"Your generosity is praised, and your kindness and generosity will be known throughout Haidaram."

Estelle shook her head and said in a very pious tone:

"I am also a believer in God and have been taught by the scriptures. God's people are suffering right now. How can I just stand by and watch when I have the ability to help?"

"All this is God's guidance, and all mercy belongs to the great God."

As she spoke, Estelle pointed four times in front of her body, forming an inverted cross, and prayed devoutly.

"Praise the ruler of the underworld, the monarch of all the dead, the great god of death and reincarnation."

Father Aligado's eyes were slightly moved, and then he also devoutly pointed four times in front of him and prayed devoutly.

After doing all this, Father Arigato looked at Estelle again and said:

"Come with me! The food distribution station is at the back door of the church."

The open space in front of the church gate is now used to place patients in need of help, so the rescue station can only be moved to the back door.

This is also to keep a distance from those plague patients to prevent the plague from spreading to ordinary people who have not been infected.

Seeing Estelle following Father Arigato to the back door of the church, Eros followed a few steps and then told Father Arigato in front of him the second purpose of his visit.

"Father! Is Archbishop Dino in the church now?"

Father Aligado nodded slightly and said, "The Archbishop is in the side hall with Makabaka and Tonbriber, making a life-saving potion that can alleviate the symptoms of the plague."

After getting the answer, Eros did not hesitate. After saying goodbye to Father Aligado, he walked towards the side hall.

He had already told Estelle in the carriage the purpose of his visit, so there was no need to repeat it now.

After arriving at the side hall and getting the location of Sklem from Archbishop Dino, Eros went straight to the tallest bell tower of the church.

The Son of Fear, dressed in gorgeous robes, was standing on the bell tower, gazing into the distance.

As if he had realized who was coming after him, the young Son of God, who was only a little over 150 years old, did not turn around and spoke to himself:

"According to preliminary statistics, there are already more than 700,000 patients infected with the plague, and this number is expected to continue to increase."

Eros stood behind Scolem and was silent for a second before he said, "Do you need me to continue to provide blood?"

Scolem shook his head and said calmly:

"The blood you provided earlier, if diluted a little more, should be able to keep those patients alive for a few days at the minimum level. After a few days, all of this will come to an end."

Hearing this, Eros was somewhat dazed.

No wonder the symptoms of the patients below were only slightly better than in the early morning.

Although the blood he provided could not expel the plague from the body, it could at least restore the body to a normal state. How could he still look so sickly now?

Now he finally understood that it was the church that was doing the minimum necessary to ensure their survival.

The purpose of doing this is probably to use limited medicine to treat more people.

As for what Scolem said, that things would be over in a few days, he had some vague guesses in his mind.

"Do you think the backlog in Haidaram will explode in the next few days?"

Instead of answering Eros' question directly, Scolem said something completely unrelated.

"The mountain in Gram Mountain Park collapsed due to aftershocks, leaving only a portion of the Kingdom of Night ruins exposed to the air."

Eros frowned, "Do you think this has anything to do with the cultists' plan?"

Scolem's mouth curled slightly, and he said with a hint of contempt:

"That ruined palace of the Kingdom of Night must have been forcibly stuffed into the mountain by someone behind the scenes."

Eros frowned even more tightly. What does this have to do with the ruins of the palace in the Kingdom of Night?

That is a relic of my family from several eras ago. Does it have any connection with the plans of the Abyss Cult or the Scarlet Cult?

As if sensing Eros's doubt, Scolem chuckled and nodded.

"Since he is on the throne, how can the emperor not have his own palace?"
