Chapter 11 The Great Time Magic...
Beep beep beep—
When the alarm clock rang, Ying Shixue reached out from under the covers and struggled to turn it off. She then struggled to sit up in bed. Even though she wasn't fully awake, her body instinctively slipped on her slippers and went to the sink to wash up.
Perhaps it's because I've been too tired during the day these past few days, but last night I was caught up in a series of vivid dreams and couldn't get out of them. When I woke up this morning, I still felt dizzy and groggy.
He scooped up a handful of water and splashed it on his face. The icy water dripped down his face. Ying Shixue stared blankly at the wet strand of hair at her temple.
My hair seems to have grown longer again.
He brushed his teeth, washed his face, and changed his clothes in one smooth motion. As Ying Shixue buttoned his clothes and went downstairs, he suddenly stopped just as he turned the corner of the stairs and was about to continue walking straight down.
Downstairs at the dining table, Song Mingli leaned back in his chair, reading a newspaper. His shirt sleeves were rolled up, revealing a section of his well-defined forearm. A cup of hot tea on the table was steaming slightly.
The microwave in the kitchen dinged, and Aunt He came out with a cup of warmed milk, preparing to place it on the other side of the table.
To outsiders, Ying Shixue's pause and hesitation at the corner seemed to last less than a second. He went down the stairs and turned towards the door as if he had no intention of eating breakfast in the first place: "Aunt He, I have to go to my workstation first in the morning, so I'll be going now."
Aunt He had just placed the glass of milk on the table when she heard this and said anxiously, "Young Master, don't go! You should eat first, no matter how early it is—"
Ying Shixue seemed to ignore him, waving her hand without turning her head to indicate that it was fine if she didn't want to eat. Following her gesture, she took the coat hanging in the entryway and put it on. Her voice collided with another voice at the same time:
"I have bread in my office—"
"return."
Song Mingli lifted his eyelids to look at him: "Eat before you leave."
Ying Shixue's hand was already lightly resting on the doorknob. He didn't turn around, but by the indistinct shadow on the door, he could sense that Song Mingli was looking at him.
Their eyes met for a few seconds in the shimmering void, then Ying Shixue lowered her eyelashes, turned the doorknob, and left without looking back.
Located in the heart of Vanke City, the SK Building rises from the most valuable land, driving the surrounding area into a renowned economic zone. Its iconic circular structure atop the building is hailed as the "Pearl of Vanke City." Television stations have filmed scenes here multiple times when narrating the century-long history of the Federation, symbolizing the changing times and strides forward.
Nine o'clock in the morning.
The elevator dinged, and a delivery person dressed in the uniform of the famous private bakery in Fancheng pushed a cart out, neatly stacked with exquisite tea and snacks, and delivered them to various offices.
The gloomy atmosphere that had started the morning with a meeting lasting an hour was swept away. Everyone cheered as the boss strode confidently toward his car, while Secretary-General Tang Ronghan stood beside it with a smile.
Zou Xinlei took a small amount with her fork and put it in her mouth, a happy smile on her face: "If I eat like this every day, I'll get fat."
Wei Chao, who was next to him, mumbled incoherently while stuffing food into his mouth: "It's only nine o'clock, why are they giving out food already? I haven't even digested my breakfast yet."
Tang Ronghan, the only one who knew the truth, smiled silently and picked up a piece of paper, saying, "Xiao Ying, you should rest for a while too."
Ying Shixue typed the last character on the keyboard, slowly exhaled, stood up, and walked to the table.
The tea snacks are soft, fluffy, and not greasy. Paired with perfectly warm tea, they soothe the heart and stomach.
Ying Shixue quietly ate her food, holding a small plate. The people who had been chattering around the table gradually quieted down, looking at each other and occasionally stealing glances at Ying Shixue.
The appointment of SK's senior staff is fair and rigorous, almost completely eliminating the possibility of favoritism and corruption. Everyone here is a graduate of a prestigious university with a top degree, selected through a rigorous process involving two assessments each year.
However, the other party was extremely young. No one had ever seen him in the company before his first day of work. He was parachuted into the top floor and said he would start from the bottom in the secretariat. But everyone knew that in the secretariat of the Zhili General Affairs Office, even the lowest position was a height that many people could not reach in ten or twenty years!
On her first day, Ying Shixue became the focus of the members' attention, and her stunning beauty was just as famous as her extremely young age and mysterious background.
Zou Xinlei glanced at him furtively. She thought he wasn't bad-tempered. On the contrary, after spending the past ten days together, he had been quite humble. He was quick to learn and completed tasks with high efficiency. His preparations and follow-up were impeccable. During breaks, he would sit quietly in his seat, looking out the window.
What is he looking at?
Many times when Zou Xinlei hurriedly passed by the office and saw this, such thoughts would flash through her mind.
However, those little thoughts were quickly pushed aside by the heavy workload, and most of the time she just rushed through them.

office
Dan Yan stretched lazily in the sofa chair, looking at the person on the desk who hadn't given him a second glance since he came in, with a mixture of drowsiness and slight speechlessness in his eyes.
Tang Ronghan appeared calm on the surface but was inwardly raging with complaints: She was making the most of her last bit of sleep this morning when her boss woke her up with a phone call, specifically asking her to order dim sum from the bakery in the west of the city and have it delivered to the company before 9 a.m. Heaven knows that the bakery doesn't even open until 10 a.m.!
After a flurry of activity, he managed to deliver the food to the company just in time. He watched as the young master ate and drank the small amount of food and water, and finally breathed a sigh of relief, wiping the sweat from his forehead. He then began his daily routine report, only to find an old man had arrived at the office.
Dan Yan, with his legs crossed, said, "Hey, Young Master Song, I finally managed to come back to Fancheng after finishing my fieldwork. It's one thing for Si San to graduate and then go to work at the grassroots level instead of staying here, but what you're doing is a bit unreasonable—"
He muttered, "You haven't even given me a sip of water since this morning. After more than ten years of brotherhood, this is how you treat me?"
Song Mingli didn't even look at him: "Continue."
Tang Ronghan: "...Tomorrow I'm going on a business trip to Liancheng to visit Guangyun Winery and discuss cooperation details. I'll have dinner with Mr. Li from Guangyun tonight."
"the day after tomorrow...."
"Choose a birthday gift for President Song and attend his birthday banquet in two weeks."
After finally finishing her report on the week's work, Tang Ronghan breathed a sigh of relief, thinking to herself that she truly deserved to be called a top-notch secretary who could handle any situation perfectly.
Dan Yan was practically bursting with impatience. Song Mingli gave him a cool look and asked, "Who just ruined the tea cakes and sofa in my drawer?"
Dan Yan chuckled and was about to pat his leg and get up when suddenly there were two knocks on the door.
Song Mingli: "Go in."
As the door opened, Ying Shixue stood in the doorway in the morning light. Her hair was jet black and her face was snow-white. She wore a casual black suit with a smooth back and long legs, making her stand out immediately.
“President Song,” Ying Shixue placed the documents in her hand on his desk, her face refined and indifferent: “The financial statements for the last quarter.”
Song Mingli gently stroked the pen in his hand with his fingertips, then looked up and hummed in agreement.
"I'm going on a business trip tomorrow, you're coming with me."
Ying Shixue paused for a moment: "...I'm also in charge of coordinating with Xiyan Media and other smaller projects within the organization."
Song Mingli didn't even turn his head: "Xiyan Media will temporarily arrange for Secretary Zou to handle things, and the rest will be distributed to others."
Tang Ronghan: "Yes."
Ying Shixue stared at him for a few seconds before lowering her eyelashes.
The door closed, and Shan Yan looked at the person sitting in the boss's chair looking at reports:
"Tsk tsk tsk, tsk tsk tsk, tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk."
Tang Ronghan retreated in time, and Shan Yan slammed his hand on the table: "Hahahaha, you've finally met your match! What, you've been gone for three years and haven't come back, now you regret it, don't you? People don't care about you anymore, do they?"
The plastic casing of the report in Song Mingli's hand creaked as he squeezed it.
Dan Yan was completely unaware: "I always said that everything was fine back then, but you insisted on going to university in Haizhou, and you didn't come back for three years. Now that kid is an adult."
“I’ve heard all about it. Xiaoxue originally chose business as her major after graduation. She had already contacted a company and made arrangements. But on the day she started her job, you insisted on having someone bring her here.”
"That's a heartless company."
Dan Yan casually replied, "You made that up, didn't you? Tianzhe Medical Equipment, although it's not one of the most famous companies, it's still somewhat well-known in Fancheng."
Song Mingli looked directly at him, his expression genuine: "That's a shady company."
