Lin Qinghuan smiled politely at the village chief, "Village chief, I'll head back now."
The village chief smiled and nodded slightly, waving his hand and saying, "Go back now! Otherwise your family will scold you."
Lin Qinghuan smiled. The Lin family members had no time to care about her right now; they were all surrounding Lin Piao, showing concern and care.
Lin Qinghuan went to a secluded place and sat there until it was almost dark before returning to the Lin family home.
Lin's father was sitting in the courtyard enjoying the cool air when he saw Lin Qinghuan return. He said, "Come back earlier next time. Don't wander around. It's not safe for a young lady like you."
Lin Qinghuan sat down next to her father. "Father, do you care whether I live or die?"
Lin's father said, "Qinghuan, how could I not care about your life or death? You are my own daughter!"
Lin Qinghuan asked, "Father, since you care about me, why did you watch me get bullied before?"
"Qinghuan, you always accept things passively and never resist. How can your father help you?" Lin's father asked rhetorically.
Lin Qinghuan looked at her father, her face full of helplessness and sorrow, "Dad, from childhood to adulthood, no one has ever helped me. How can I rebel? Do you think I dare to rebel?"
“Father, do you know? Sometimes I even wish I had no father or mother, no brothers or sisters, and wish I were an orphan. But I have three brothers who coldly watch me being bullied, and even help the bullies. And the source of all my suffering is your good daughter, Lin Piaoxue. I have a father and a mother, but my mother treats me coldly, as if I were her enemy. My father coldly watches me suffer. Now you tell me that it is because I don’t know how to fight back.”
"Dad, do you know? I have no will to live in this world. I can't find a reason to live."
"Father, if I die, will you be sad? Will you regret your past indifference?"
Lin's father's lips trembled; he couldn't believe that Lin Qinghuan had lost hope in life.
"Qinghuan, you are my biological daughter, and I care about you."
Lin Qinghuan scoffed and questioned, "Father, your so-called concern is just watching me suffer. What kind of father are you?"
“Father, you are more of a stranger to me than a stranger. Stop making excuses for your indifference.”
"Father, I hate you all."
After Lin Qinghuan finished speaking, she stood up and prepared to go back to her room. When she looked up, she saw her mother and the three Lin brothers.
Lin Qinghuan remained indifferent and returned to her room without expression.
