Lin Qinghuan watched the car drive past her, a hint of envy flashing in her eyes. When would she be able to have her own car and stop walking, which was exhausting?
Lin Qinghuan encountered no strange things along the way and returned home safely.
When Lin Qinghuan returned home, her mother asked, "Have you seen your sister?"
“I didn’t see her,” Lin Qinghuan replied.
Lin Qinghuan plopped down in a chair, panting.
Oh my god! I'm exhausted!
Lin Qinghuan carried a hoe into the yard. Seeing Lin Qinghuan return, he smiled and asked, "Qinghuan, you're back so early?"
"I don't know anyone in the city, and wandering around for too long gets boring, so I might as well come back sooner," Lin Qinghuan said.
Lin Qinghuan took the meat out of her pocket and handed it to her father, saying, "Dad, I'm tired from walking today, so you'll have to cook for yourself."
Lin's father took the pork belly, weighed the meat in his hand, and said with a pained expression, "Why did you buy so much meat? It's such a waste of money."
"You can't take anything with you when you die. If you have money, you should spend it. If you suddenly die, wouldn't that be a huge waste?" Lin Qinghuan said irritably.
Lin's father was speechless and said helplessly, "What nonsense are you talking about? If we don't save some money for ourselves, what will we do if we get sick and don't have money for treatment?"
"Father, we'll die whether we eat well or not, so we might as well eat and drink well. That way, we won't lose anything if we die," Lin Qinghuan said.
"I'm too lazy to waste my breath on you, you little brat." After saying that, Mr. Lin picked up the meat and walked into the kitchen.
Mr. Lin was cooking in the kitchen, and Mrs. Lin, worried that he would ruin the meat, also went into the kitchen to help.
After Lin Ming and Lin Feng returned, they helped feed the pigs and chickens.
After Lin's parents finished cooking, Lin Piaoxue still hadn't returned. Both of them looked worried, wondering if Lin Piaoxue had encountered some trouble.
As darkness fell, Lin's mother, filled with anxiety, said to Lin Ming and Lin Feng, "Second brother, third brother, go along the main road and look for Piaoxue."
Lin Ming was very unhappy. He was still waiting to eat meat. He also resented Lin Piaoxue. How could she not learn her lesson after suffering a loss once? She was truly incorrigible.
Lin Qinghuan watched Lin Ming and Lin Feng walk out the gate thoughtfully. Oh my god! Could Lin Piaoxue have been kidnapped by human traffickers on her way home?
He then shook his head, thinking he was overthinking things; human traffickers wouldn't be that brazen.
Time passed second by second, and darkness fell. Looking at the deep night sky, Lin's mother's face was filled with panic, and she looked at Lin's father with a blank expression.
"What should we do? It's already dark, why hasn't Piaoxue come back yet?"
"You're asking me? Who am I supposed to ask?" Lin's father said, frowning.
Mr. Lin sighed helplessly. He had no choice and felt helpless.
Lin's mother turned her gaze to Lin Qinghuan, who waved her hand and quickly said, "I'm not a god, how would I know where Lin Piaoxue is?"
Lin Qinghuan and Lin Piaoxue weren't familiar with each other, so how would she know where Lin Qinghuan was? She wasn't a god who could just pinch her and know where Lin Qinghuan was.
Lin's father and mother stood at the gate, eagerly waiting for Lin Piaoxue to appear.
A bright light appeared in their sight, and the sound of a motorcycle came from afar, finally stopping in front of them.
Lin Piaoxue jumped off the back of the motorcycle and asked, "Dad, Mom, what are you doing standing at the gate?"
Suppressing his anger, Lin's father said in a deep voice, "I was worried about you because you hadn't come home late, and I wanted to see you as soon as possible."
"Auntie, Piaoxue went to my house for dinner, so she came back a little late," the man who brought Piaoxue back explained.
Lin's mother finally breathed a sigh of relief and said with a smile, "Piaoxue, I'm relieved to see you back safe and sound."
Lin Qinghuan leaned against the door frame, frowning, and asked, "Lin Piaoxue, have you seen my eldest brother and second brother?"
Lin Piaoxue asked, "Second Brother and Third Brother came looking for us, but I didn't see them. Did we miss them?"
Lin Qinghuan looked at Lin Piaoxue and asked, "Lin Piaoxue, don't you think before you speak? There's only one main road to the city, how could you miss it? Are you walking on the ground while they're flying in the sky?"
Lin's father's expression turned serious. Could it be that something had happened to his second and third sons?
"The second and third sons are both grown men, nothing will happen to them. Let's go back inside," Lin's mother said nonchalantly.
Lin Qinghuan looked at her mother with a cold face and said in a deep voice, "Mom, don't you know that some coal mines buy people to work in the mines? Aren't you afraid that when your son goes to find Lin Piaoxue, he will encounter unscrupulous human traffickers who will kidnap them, sell them to coal mines, force them to work in the mines, and eventually die in the mines? Mom, is Lin Piaoxue your only child, and none of us are your children? Your favoritism is outrageous!"
Lin's mother's face immediately changed, and she staggered. No, Qinghuan was talking nonsense. She had only heard of human traffickers abducting women, not men.
