Chapter 165 The Ghost Ignites the Fire

Lin Piaoxue looked at Lin Ming and Lin Feng in disbelief, then burst into laughter.

"Second Brother, Third Brother, I really can't believe you actually believed such nonsense," Lin Piaoxue said with a laugh.

"Lin Piaoxue, have you laughed enough?" Lin Ming said angrily.

Lin Feng's expression also turned sour. They had gone out late at night because of Lin Piaoxue, and she still had the nerve to smile. She had no conscience at all.

Having found Lin Feng and Lin Ming, Lin's father finally breathed a sigh of relief and said easily, "Alright, it's so late. If we don't go back soon, your mother will start to worry."

Lin Feng's eyes flickered when he saw Jia Bing next to Lin Piaoxue. What was the relationship between this man and Lin Piaoxue? Was he her boyfriend?

Lin Ming said with dissatisfaction, "Lin Piaoxue, please don't come home so late next time, okay?"

"Third Brother, I didn't mean to come back late," Lin Piaoxue said.

“If you didn’t come back late on purpose, then you came back late intentionally,” Lin Ming retorted.

Seeing that Lin Ming and Lin Piaoxue were still arguing in the middle of nowhere, Lin's father frowned and said, "What are you arguing about so late at night?"

"Second brother, didn't you see the snow falling?" Lin Qing asked.

"Brother, we saw a woman in white walking in front of us, but we didn't see anyone coming from the other side," Lin Feng said.

As Lin Feng spoke, he looked at Lin Piaoxue and asked with a puzzled expression, "Piaoxue, how did you get back? We didn't see you."

"Second Brother, I took a motorcycle home. Maybe Jas was driving too fast and it was dark, so you didn't notice me," Lin Piaoxue explained.

“The road is so wide, and the motorcycles are going so fast, plus we kept the flashlights off to save batteries,” Lin Feng said.

Lin Qinghuan walked at the front, listening to Lin Feng and the others' conversation as she went.

Suddenly, Lin Qinghuan stopped and stood motionless.

Seeing that Lin Qinghuan was standing still, Lin's father asked in confusion, "Qinghuan, why are you standing still?"

Lin Qinghuan stretched out his hand, indicating that he should see for himself.

Following the direction Lin Qinghuan was pointing, Lin's father saw a white shadow that had appeared ahead. He was momentarily stunned and asked, "It's just someone walking ahead, what's the big deal?"

Jass said nervously, "That person seemed to appear out of nowhere."

Lin's father and the others were stunned. It appeared suddenly. It wasn't a ghost. How could it have appeared so suddenly?

When Lin's father and the others thought of ghosts, their expressions changed drastically.

ghost?

Could that white figure in front of us not be human, but a ghost?

Lin Feng couldn't help but take a step back, looking at the white figure in front of him. He was unsure whether to continue, but he couldn't just stand there forever! He was caught in a dilemma.

Lin Qinghuan frowned. She didn't believe in ghosts, but why was someone suddenly walking in front of her? It must have been someone who came down from the curb when she wasn't paying attention.

Lin Qinghuan continued walking forward, refusing to believe in ghosts. How could there be ghosts in this world?

Seeing that Lin Qinghuan wasn't afraid at all, Lin's father and the others gritted their teeth and followed.

Lin Qinghuan saw a faint green light flickering on the cemetery hill by the roadside in the distance. She paused slightly, then continued walking forward as if nothing had happened, but her attention had already shifted from the white shadow to the green light on the cemetery hill.

She saw the green light flickering left and right, high and low, eerily strange, making her scalp tingle and a chill run up from the soles of her feet, chilling her entire body.

Holy crap! Is that green light the legendary ghost ignition?

Lin Piaoxue held Lin Qing tightly with her left hand and Jas tightly with her right hand, trembling as she walked forward.

Lin Qinghuan stopped and looked at her father, asking, "Dad, did you see the will-o'-the-wisps on the cemetery?"

Upon hearing this, Lin's father and the others froze, all looking at the cemetery by the roadside. Sure enough, a green light was flickering on the cemetery. Their expressions changed drastically, their spines went cold, and the hairs on their backs stood on end.

It really is a will-o'-the-wisp!

Lin's father and the others held their breath, staring intently at the cemetery; the air was eerily quiet.

A gust of cold air swept in, making them shiver.

Lin Ming muttered to himself, "How strange! Why did it suddenly get cold?"

Lin Piaoxue's body trembled incessantly, like a leaf turning in the wind.

"Father, what should we do?" Lin Piaoxue asked in terror.

Lin's father didn't know what to do either. He had only seen will-o'-the-wisps once when he was a child, and the memory was still fresh in his mind.

"How come there's another will-o'-the-wisp? Does this mean another ghost has come out to roam?" Jass said in a panic.

Jia Bing now deeply regrets sending Lin Piaoxue back. He vows never to come to the countryside again, because there are too many ghosts there.

Lin Qinghuan narrowed her eyes slightly and gripped the wood-chopping knife in her hand.

She didn't eat dinner tonight and walked such a long way. Now she's exhausted and hungry, and no one can stop her from going home to eat and rest, not even a ghost.

"We've been stopped for a while now, so why is that white figure still the same distance away from us?" Lin Ming asked, puzzled.

Lin Qinghuan put down the foot she had just lifted.

Lin Qing and Lin Feng were pale-faced and huddled together. The white figure stopped as well after they stopped, as if it were waiting for them.

Lin Qinghuan leaned closer to Lin Ming and said in a sinister tone, "He might be waiting for you, wanting to drag you into being his ghost husband."

Lin Ming jumped up in fright and said angrily, "Lin Qinghuan, are you trying to kill me?"

“You can speak louder,” Lin Qinghuan said coldly.

Lin Ming was worried that the white figure was really a female ghost who would come to take him as a companion, so he reluctantly shut his mouth, looked at the white figure warily, and turned his gaze to the green light on the cemetery.
