Wei Xiao watched Lin Qinghuan laugh heartily, a slight smile playing on his lips and a hint of amusement in his eyes.
Lin Qing smiled and looked at Grandpa Lin, saying gratefully, "Grandpa, you're so kind!"
Grandpa Lin looked at Lin Qinghuan with a smile and said with a doting expression, "Grandpa didn't do anything, there's nothing to thank me for."
Lin Qinghuan looked at her grandfather with gratitude. Her grandfather had given her a villa and even sent people to watch over her when she was injured. Her grandfather had already done so much for her!
Grandpa Lin smiled with delight, feeling very happy. He liked children who knew how to repay kindness.
Lin Zi and the others ran out of the Lin family courtyard excitedly, with Lin Qing following behind them with a smile.
"Grandpa, Uncle, the food is ready. Come in and eat!" Lin Qing said to his uncle and grandfather.
Grandpa Lin smiled and nodded to Lin Qing, then walked into the courtyard first.
Aunt Lin's eldest aunt came out of the kitchen with bowls and chopsticks, and said with a smile to Grandpa Lin, "Dad, you must be hungry. Come in and sit down, it's time to eat."
Grandpa Lin smiled and said, "Eldest daughter-in-law, you've worked hard!"
“Dad, I don’t feel tired. This is what I should do,” Aunt replied.
Grandpa Lin was very satisfied with his aunt's humble attitude and walked into the main room with a smile.
Lin's father warmly invited Wei Xiao and Lin Fu into the house and sat them down, and then politely poured wine for everyone.
"This is homemade liquor, and it tastes pretty good."
Grandpa Lin was the first to pick up his wine glass, take a sip, and his expression was tinged with sadness and nostalgia.
"This is wine brewed by your mother," Grandpa Lin said, looking at Lin's father.
Lin's father, remembering his deceased mother, sighed with a look of remembrance, "This wine was indeed brewed by my mother before she passed away. It was buried under the peach tree in the yard. Today, since we are all gathered here, I dug out a jar for everyone to taste. I never expected that you would be able to tell that it was brewed by my mother."
"Give me a jar, I want to take it with me," Grandpa said without any politeness.
Grandpa Lin made a request, and no matter how reluctant Lin's father was, he had to agree. He said with some pain, "I'll get you a jar of wine later so you can take it with you."
Grandpa Lin received a satisfactory answer, and a relieved smile appeared on his face.
Wei Xiao picked up the wine glass, took a sip, and his eyes lit up. The taste was mellow and delicious—a fine wine!
"Wei Xiao, Lin Fu, Wei Hong, please don't stand on ceremony, make yourselves at home," Lin's father said warmly.
“Okay, we won’t stand on ceremony!” Wei Xiao said.
Lin Qinghuan, Lin Feng, and Aunt Lin sat at the dining table in the kitchen. Lin Qinghuan looked at the dishes on the table: a plate of chicken, a bowl of goose meat, a plate of stir-fried pine mushrooms, a plate of green vegetables, a plate of stuffed tofu, and a dish of stir-fried peanuts.
"Lunch today was quite a feast," Lin Qing said with a smile.
Lin Qinghui swallowed hard as he looked at the food on the table, and happily chimed in, "It's as lavish as Chinese New Year, I can have a feast!"
The three Lin brothers and Lin Tang sat down at the dining table in the kitchen. Lin Qinghuan looked at them and said, "You are men, you should go to the main room to drink and play drinking games with Grandpa and the others, you shouldn't be sitting here with us women."
"I don't drink, and I feel more comfortable sitting here with you all," Lin Tang said.
“Dad, you’re such a coward!” Lin Qinghui said.
Lin Tang said nonchalantly, "If you're not a coward, go sit at your grandfather's table and don't linger here."
Lin Qinghui said matter-of-factly, "I am a child, and children should stay with their mothers."
“You’re a child, but you’re also a boy. Boys are men, so there’s no difference between us.” After saying that, Lin Tang picked up his chopsticks, took a piece of goose meat, and put it in his mouth.
Looking at Lin Tang's shameless behavior, Lin Qinghuan finally understood the origin of the saying "like father, like son." Lin Qinghui's personality was exactly like Lin Tang's.
Fang Li glared at Lin Tang speechlessly. This man, really, how could he say such things to his son? Doesn't he care about being laughed at?
Lin Tang met Fang Li's gaze, gave a dry laugh, and put on a fawning expression.
Lin Qinghuan took a large bowl from the cupboard, filled it halfway with rice, added a little of each dish, and a small bowl of goose soup. She smiled and said, "Auntie, I'll go deliver the food to my mom first. Please enjoy your meal. Don't be shy, just relax as you would at home."
Aunt smiled and nodded, watching Lin Qinghuan carry the tray out of the kitchen before turning her gaze to the three brothers, Lin Qing and Lin Qing, and said earnestly, "Your mother loved Lin Piaoxue the most and disliked Qinghuan the most. Lin Piaoxue almost caused your mother's death, and it was Qinghuan who saved her life. Now, the person who is filial to her is not the pampered Lin Piaoxue, but the one she hates the most, Qinghuan. You must learn from this and not follow in your mother's footsteps, being blind to the value of pearls and treating a vicious person as a treasure."
The three Lin brothers showed a faint look of shame and embarrassment.
Lin Qing humbly accepted her aunt's teachings and replied, "Aunt, we know what to do."
The three Lin brothers were, after all, cousins of Lin Tang, and they all shared the same ancestor. He hoped that the three Lin brothers would live well, so he kindly reminded them: "Lin Qing, if Lin Piaoxue dared to take 30,000 yuan this time, she would dare to kill and set fires next time. If you don't learn your lesson, you will regret it."
Lin Piaoxue is all talk and no action, a wolf in sheep's clothing; Lin Tang avoids her like the plague.
