Chapter 267 Attentive

Lin Piaoxue looked at Lin Qing and Lin Feng, "Big brother, second brother, didn't you buy anything to bring back for the New Year?"

Lin Feng rolled his eyes at Lin Piaoxue, "My older brother and I aren't as capable as Qinghuan, and we don't have the money to buy nice things for our parents. But we'll take advantage of these few days to help them with more chores."

“Lin Piaoxue, anyone can criticize us, but not Nian. If it weren’t for you, our family would be the richest in the village,” Lin Qing said.

"Brother, you got a house, so don't act all innocent after getting a good deal," Lin Piaoxue retorted.

Seeing that Lin Piaoxue was provoking Lin Qing and Lin Feng again, refusing to stop for a moment, Grandpa Lin's face showed displeasure. His expression darkened slightly as he said, "Lin Piaoxue, shut up! I decided to give the house to Lin Qing. If you have any objections, keep them to yourself."

Lin Piaoxue shut her mouth indignantly, not daring to say anything more.

Lin's mother lovingly touched the floral cotton-padded jacket she was wearing, smiled at Lin Qinghuan's father, and asked, "Does Qinghuan's cotton-padded jacket look good on me?"

Mr. Lin looked Mrs. Lin up and down and said with a smile, "The fabric is dark red, but it doesn't look bright. It also has flowers printed on it, which makes her skin look much whiter. She looks more energetic and cheerful. It's the perfect fabric to wear during the New Year and when visiting relatives."

Looking at the new cotton-padded coat Lin's father was wearing, Lin's mother said, "Qinghuan bought you this cotton-padded coat, and you look very good in it."

Lin's father picked up the pants and tried them on. He walked a few steps with great joy, then took off the pants and cotton-padded coat. "I won't be working during the New Year holidays. I'll wear them during the New Year holidays, otherwise they'll get dirty."

Lin's mother picked up the pants and compared them; the size was just right, and the fabric was polyester, which was very durable.

"My eldest and second eldest sons didn't buy us anything. It's our daughter who is so thoughtful and considerate of her parents," Lin's mother said with deep emotion.

"Filial piety depends on the person. Piaoxue is also a daughter, but she's not exactly known to be very good to us," said Lin's father.

A somber look appeared on Lin's mother's face, and she sighed, "Don't mention the snow, it spoils the mood."

Lin's mother took off her cotton-padded coat and put it away. She and Lin's father walked out of the room. When Lin's grandfather saw them come out, he said to Lin's mother, "Qinghuan bought candy, cake paintings and fruit. Please put the things away."

Lin's mother and father looked at the large pile of things on the table and were very touched. Qinghuan had bought them food and clothes; she was so thoughtful!

Lin's mother walked closer to the table, rummaged through it, and found a large bag of bright red apples and two packets of White Rabbit milk candy. The cookies were beautifully shaped and made, and looked very tempting.

Lin Piaoxue reached out to grab an apple, but her mother slapped her hand. Lin Piaoxue looked at her mother unhappily, "Mom, why did you hit me?"

“These things were bought by Qinghuan to show her respect to your father and me. Besides, we’ve already separated our households. If you want apples, go buy them yourself,” Lin’s mother said.

“There’s a whole bag of apples, what’s wrong with me eating one?” Lin Piaoxue said.

"It doesn't matter how many there are, it's fine with you." Lin's mother said, handing an apple to Lin's father. "You've never eaten an apple before, so have a good taste today."

Mr. Lin accepted the apple with a beaming smile, took a bite with relish, and said to Mrs. Lin, "It's fragrant and sweet, better than peaches and oranges. You should have one too."

"I'll put the food away before I eat," Lin's mother said.

Grandpa Lin felt a pang of sadness watching this scene; he couldn't believe that his youngest son had never even eaten an apple.

Lin's mother carried everything into the room. Seeing that she hadn't gotten any benefit, Lin Piaoxue stomped her foot in anger and left the main room to guard her small shop.
