Holding the key, Lu Ye opened the door of the clothing shop.
The room was small. Black fabric was piled on the table, scissors and rulers hung on the wall, and sewing needles were neatly arranged in a box. There were two clean, smooth wooden chairs on the floor, one for work and the other a sun lounger.
Several unfinished funeral shrouds hung neatly on the rack, looking rather eerie in the dim light.
Behind the shop is a very small courtyard with only a small house. The courtyard is just big enough to fit a table for a meal, with some flowers and plants and a clothesline. Other than that, there is nothing else, making it quite monotonous.
Lu Ye opened the small house behind the courtyard. The house was quite simple, with only a bed and a table. After searching for a while, Lu Ye found a wooden board under the bed.
"Sure enough, this mechanism is just like the one in the novel."
Lu Ye easily lifted the bed, lifted the board, revealing an underground space with steps in front of him. Lu Ye stepped down.
A stench hit him, and Lu Ye looked toward the source of the smell. It turned out to be a dead stray dog, which looked like it had been hanged. Its eyes were wide open, filled with sadness and terror, and the rotting corpse reeked in the underground space.
A sword hung on the wall, spotlessly clean, the only shining thing in this space.
On the table sat a solitary wooden box, locked. Lu Ye weighed it in his hand and figured it contained books or something similar.
Is this what the old man wanted to give?
Lu Ye picked up the box and suddenly realized that the underground space did not feel stuffy. He then understood that the old man's lair must have more than one entrance and exit.
After searching for a while, Lu Ye found an exit. He returned to the house, tidied up the mess, locked the door, and then went back to the basement to leave through another exit.
Back on the ground, I found myself by a river.
After a moment's thought, Lu Ye realized that the river was a good way to escape, and the bustling main street was not far away, so going into the river would allow him to avoid being seen.
Lu Ye wrapped the box in a package and went to the alchemy shop to buy his alchemy materials.
As for Cui Hao, let's take our time looking for him. In this vast sea of people, finding someone isn't that easy.
