Chapter 199 The Scheme Succeeds

Thanks to the efforts of Li Xiangjun, He Yunxiao, and others, the mole who disrupted the peace negotiations was unsurprisingly exposed.

As Ruobao had predicted, it was someone from the Yan state, but there was sufficient evidence to show that this person had long harbored rebellious intentions and was not instructed by Li Xiangjun to sabotage the peace talks.

This outcome is quite subtle. It both created a villain to succeed the Yan Emperor and exonerated Li Xiangjun, declaring her innocent.

Unlike the usually cautious and meticulous Ruobao, He Yunxiao went to find Miss Li as soon as he received the news.

After setting out a table of food and drink, He Yunxiao said apologetically, "I misunderstood you before, Miss."

Li Xiangjun was quite magnanimous in response, waving her hand and pointing to the teacup on the table, saying, "Pour out the tea in the teacup, fill it with wine, and punish yourself with three cups. If you drink them, we'll let bygones be bygones, how about it?"

He Yunxiao vividly remembered the man's drunken state that day and was unwilling to repeat the same mistake, so he carefully said, "Miss Li, I can drink, but you should drink less."

Li Xiangjun readily agreed. Then He Yunxiao watched as she downed one glass after another until she was completely drunk.

It must be said that Ms. Li, whose face was flushed from being drunk, was indeed much cuter than usual.

Her cheeks were flushed, her eyes were watery, her body was limp, and she even talked incoherently, rambling on and on. This series of changes made her have a kind of silly cuteness.

If you combine this with Li Xiangjun's usual shrewd demeanor, you'll find that she's quite likable now.

Li Xiangjun, who had drunk too much, put her arm around He Yunxiao's shoulder in a rather bold manner.

She wrapped her small arms around He Yunxiao's neck, affectionately raised her glass to clink glasses with him, and then, regardless of whether he drank or not, she downed her own glass first.

Only Li Xiangjun herself felt that this action was bold and unrestrained. He Yunxiao, who was being hugged by her, was quite uncomfortable.

Putting everything else aside, Miss Li was quite well-off. The two of them were arm in arm, embracing each other. She herself didn't care, but He Yunxiao, who was being repeatedly assaulted, could only struggle to suppress his restless mind.

Smelling the alluring fragrance of the beauty beside him, He Yunxiao helplessly advised, "Miss Li, let's call it a day."

Li Xiangjun retorted, "That's enough? Let me see? You're out of wine, aren't you? Fill it up, fill it up. We won't leave until we're drunk tonight."

Looking at the late moonlight outside the window, He Yunxiao deeply regretted not resisting the pressure and refusing to serve the wine. He had originally planned to visit Fei Bao, but now it was definitely impossible.

"Miss Li, you're drunk."

"I'm not drunk!" Li Xiangjun said, her face flushed, shaking her head as she stared at He Yunxiao.

He Yunxiao felt a chill run down his spine and could only say, "Your Majesty, it's getting late, let's go to bed."

The dizzy Emperor Yan patted He Yunxiao on the shoulder and said, "You're not bad. You're loyal to me. I've seen it all."

Then, in front of He Yunxiao, she walked step by step toward the bed in the room, saying as she went, "Someone, come and undress me."

After waiting a while and seeing no response, she took matters into her own hands and gently tugged at the belt around her waist. Her outer garment opened, revealing her white inner garment.

"No! No!"

Upon seeing this, He Yunxiao quickly closed the window and drew the curtains, and put the outer garment that the Yan Emperor had taken off back on her.

"What are you going to do?" Li Xiangjun frowned as she looked at He Yunxiao.

He Yunxiao glanced down at the alluring red glimpse beneath his snow-white undergarment, swallowed hard, and forced himself to calm down. "Your Majesty, this is not the palace. You should go to bed fully clothed."

Li Xiangjun stared at He Yunxiao for a long while, then said, "Fine, I'll listen to you." She then raised her delicate chin, revealing her swan-like neck, and simultaneously stretched out her arms. "Put it on for me."

He Yunxiao forced himself to say, "Yes."

This wasn't the first time He Yunxiao had dressed a woman, so he was quite experienced. Although Miss Li was unsteady and swaying, he still managed to complete the task well and put her outer garment back on.

After getting dressed, Li Xiangjun plopped down on the edge of the bed.

However, she was not in a hurry to go to sleep. Instead, she said to He Yunxiao meaningfully, "My dear minister, tell me, how have I treated you?"

He Yunxiao had no idea what was wrong with Li Xiangjun's drunken antics. She usually referred to herself as "I," but when she had a fit, she would put on airs like the Emperor of Yan.

Despite his dissatisfaction, to be fair, Li Xiangjun has indeed helped him a lot, so it's not unreasonable to say a few good words about her.

"His Majesty's kindness to me is as heavy as a mountain."

The tipsy Li Xiangjun nodded in satisfaction and said, "Then will you do me a favor?"

"Your Majesty, please speak freely."

"Yes. I have heard about the peace talks you had in private. I don't like that valley; we need to find another one."

Ah, this...

To be honest, He Yunxiao didn't know the specifics of the valley that Ruobao and the Yan officials had agreed upon, but he did know that it was a plan that both Mengbao and Ruobao had agreed to. In other words, handing the land over to the Yan Kingdom was inconsequential.

Now that Li Xiangjun wants to make a change, He Yunxiao is unsure whether Mengbao and Ruobao will agree.

After weighing the options, He Yunxiao said helplessly, "Your Majesty, I cannot make this decision."

Unexpectedly, the usually reasonable Li Xiangjun frowned and said, "You're lying to me. If you really can't do it, why have you been thinking about it for so long?"

He Yunxiao's face stiffened.

As Li Xiangjun said, it was indeed true. If the valley she requested wasn't too important, she could have persuaded Mengbao and Ruobao herself and gotten it done.

"Which valley does Your Majesty desire?" He Yunxiao had no choice but to ask.

"Six hundred li east of Luoyue Pass lies the Winter Valley."

He Yunxiao had no idea about this place, so he could only give a perfunctory reply: "I'll go back and inquire for His Majesty. If it can be changed, I will change it for His Majesty."
