Yan Luo said as she tossed the ladle in the pan.
"It's okay, it hasn't come to the point of tearing each other apart yet. Besides, there are two level nines, one level seven, and one level four in the family."
"The fourth-order one can be ignored, no problem."
A golden retriever who was playing video games with an introverted girl sneezed.
Chi Miaomiao bit the straw, holding a bottle of lemon tea in her hand.
Yanluo glanced at the girl's swallowing and licked her lips.
"I want to drink too."
Chi Miaomiao lightly kicked Yan Luo's buttocks with her toe.
Why do you want everything?
Despite saying that, Chi Miaomiao still put the straw to Yan Luo's lips.
As the cool, refreshing lemon tea went down her throat, Yanluo nodded in satisfaction.
"Miaomiao, be good, or you'll be crying."
Chi Miaomiao blushed, kicked Yan Luo in the butt again, and then turned and walked away.
He left behind the words "lecherous scoundrel".
Yan Luo smiled, the spatula in her hand still steaming.
Ghouls cannot eat human food.
This put An Qiuxi in a bit of a predicament. Fortunately, she had undergone a period of training, which prevented her from vomiting while eating. She could just vomit after eating when no one was around.
Otherwise, that nauseous feeling would linger for a long time.
At the dinner table.
Bai Ningbing secretly glanced at An Qiuxi. Chi Miaomiao had quietly told her before dinner that this child was a corpse demon.
This was the first time Bai Ningbing had seen it. It was quite different from the description. Shouldn't they all have big fangs on their mouths?
Some had bloodshot eyes, while others had pale skin.
I'll ask Yanluo properly later.
Xu Rongyue is already a regular customer, and she is no longer reserved when eating. Yan Luo's cooking is delicious, much better than Xu Qinghe's, which has successfully brought this introverted girl into the ranks of her aunt and little golden retriever.
Kuku is dry rice.
Bai Ningbing was also in this group, but she ate more elegantly, her chopsticks flashing and leaving afterimages, something Tu Yier, sitting in her high chair, was already used to.
Seeing that An Qiuxi was eating very little, Tu Luoxue asked with concern.
"Xiaoxi, is the food not to your liking?"
An Qiuxi shook her head and smiled.
"No, it's just that I don't have much of an appetite and my stomach feels a little uncomfortable. The food is delicious."
Tu Luoxue then nodded.
"It's okay, don't force yourself to eat if you can't. You can have a late-night snack if you get hungry tonight."
Over the decades of humanity's struggle against the ghouls, scientists studied the habits of the ghouls by capturing low-ranking ones through high-level ghoul hunters, and learned that the ghouls cannot eat human food.
Yanluo was eating, but she kept glancing at An Qiuxi in a seemingly casual way.
It seems she's been specially trained, otherwise she would have already vomited. There must be more to this girl than meets the eye.
The youth's vigilance rose again.
Yanluo used serving chopsticks to pick up a piece of lean meat and gave it to An Qiuxi.
"An, eat more, you look too thin."
An Qiuxi frowned slightly, almost imperceptibly.
He looked at Yanluo and thanked her.
"Thank you for your concern, Brother Yan. I will eat more, but I don't have much of an appetite today."
Yanluo nodded in understanding.
After dinner, An Qiuxi went to the bathroom because she felt a little unwell in her stomach.
After locking the door, the ghoul girl knelt painfully in front of the toilet, frantically opened the lid, and began to vomit violently.
The food that was vomited out was all intact, and the food coated with saliva fell into the water little by little.
An Qiuxi didn't dare to chew at all; she was afraid that if she chewed, she would immediately spit it out.
For example, the piece of lean meat that Yanluo gave her had an indescribable taste, like rotten rat meat.
She would pretend to chew the food before swallowing it whole.
An Qiuxi vomited until tears streamed down her face. Even though she hadn't eaten much, the rejection reaction in her body was so severe that the girl felt like she was going to throw up her stomach.
Since corpse demons are supposed to be the manifestations of the dead, why would they react so strongly in a place like this?
An Qiuxi didn't understand.
Yanluo's perception extended into the bathroom, and she sighed silently.
Bai Ningbing, who was cleaning up the kitchen with him, saw him sigh.
"What's wrong?"
Yanluo replied, "Ghosts can't eat human food, but they seem to be able to eat some blood clots from pigs, ducks, and geese. I'll buy some for her tomorrow."
Bai Ningbing wiped one side of the plate with a scouring pad and handed it to Yan Luo.
"You're just too gentle."
Yanluo turned to the side and leaned over to kiss the fox demon sister's cheek.
"Don't worry, I won't hold back when it's time to act."
Once a ghoul reaches the eighth rank, it will no longer be dominated by bloodlust, but it certainly will be at birth, just like a newborn baby will be hungry; this is unavoidable.
"Besides, Sister Ningbing, my gentleness depends on the person."
"I'm not like everyone."
Bai Ningbing spat lightly.
"Bullshit, when you're exerting yourself, why don't you think about being gentle?"
Yan Luo chuckled.
"But you won't be happy if it's too light."
Bai Ningbing stretched out her right foot and stomped hard on Yan Luo's left foot.
"Still daring to talk back!"
Yanluo pretended to be in pain and begged for mercy repeatedly.
"Ouch, that hurts! I know I was wrong, Sister Ningbing."
Seeing Yanluo's funny antics, the fox demon sister smiled sweetly, as beautiful as a snow-capped mountain in spring.
An Qiuxi washed her face, trying to look as natural as possible, and then walked out of the bathroom.
Everyone went to the small living room on the second floor. The ghoul girl stepped onto the stairs and looked around at the layout of the house.
When Tu Luoxue saw An Qiuxi come up, she invited her to sit down.
"Xiaoxi, is your stomach still upset? Should we see a doctor?"
An Qiuxi sat down next to the white-haired girl, shook her head, and said, "It's nothing, she probably just had an upset stomach."
Tu Luoxue was finally relieved.
Tu Yi'er sat in her aunt's lap, looking at her older sister with some curiosity. There was also a Yan Shiyue in the little girl's arms.
Xiao Sanhua stared warily at An Qiuxi in October, as if she had seen something dangerous.
Tu Yier gently stroked October to soothe the kitten's emotions.
Chi Miaomiao was scrolling through her phone when she suddenly received a video call from Su Qing.
Su Qing was particularly busy today; the old professor had arranged for her to photograph a set of newly discovered texts.
Su Qing and Huang Jindie stayed at the school.
Chi Miaomiao answered the phone.
"Sister Qing."
"Auntie—"
"Meow--"
The two people and the cat all greeted Su Qing on the other end of the phone.
Exhausted, Su Qing's heart melted at the sight.
"Have you had dinner yet?" Chi Miaomiao asked.
Su Qing shook her head.
"Not yet, I'm so hungry. Where's Ayan? I called him but he didn't answer."
Tu Yier raised her hand.
"My uncle and his fox-like aunt are washing dishes."
Su Qing smiled and asked, "Has Yi'er missed me?"
Tu Yier nodded seriously and grabbed Shiyue's paw with her little hand.
"I miss you so much, Auntie, please come back soon."
Su Qing nodded.
"I miss you too. How about I have your uncle come pick me up later?"
Tu Yier agreed, then carried Shiyue downstairs to inform Yanluo.
P.S.: Happy Mid-Autumn Festival everyone! Sorry I'm late.
