Chapter 15 Loss

After closing the door, I walked towards my uncle's room.

Upon opening the door, I found Yanluo still fast asleep.

So the little one huddled inside the warmth.

Yanluo is a light sleeper. When she opened her eyes and saw the little one, she covered the baby with a blanket.

A 24-degree air conditioner is still quite cold for children.

8:30.

The uncle and nephew, who had finished washing up in the bedroom, came downstairs.

After preparing the baby's milk, Yanluo put on her apron and plunged into the kitchen.

Tu Yier, on the other hand, sat obediently on the sofa and read a book.

Fan Qianning rubbed her eyes and walked out of the room. She had slept at the captain's house with her sister last night.

Walking into the living room, I saw a little girl, as delicate as a porcelain doll, sitting and reading a book.

"Little friend, what's your name?"

Tu Yier put down her book and saw a really awesome older sister.

"Hello, sister. My name is Tu Yier. What brings you to my house?"

Fan Qianning sat down next to the little guy.

She smiled and said, "My name is Fan Qianning. Qian means light color, and Ning means to gaze. I am a friend of your uncle. I stayed overnight yesterday."

Tu Yier nodded and chatted with Fan Qianning with a smile.

Fan Qianning really liked Tu Yier and happily hugged the little elf in her arms.

Nine o'clock in the morning.

Everyone got up, ate breakfast, and got to know each other.

Zhong Jiudao looked at Tu Yier and thought of his own daughter.

The pain in my heart, which I numbed with alcohol last night, has started to throb again.

When Zhong Jiudao was twenty-five years old.

At that time, he was a police officer with a gentle and virtuous wife and a three-year-old daughter.

It was a little past 1 a.m. that night in winter when Zhong Jiudao finished his overtime work and went home.

A second-tier young ghoul attacked the 13th floor of his house.

After returning home and checking on his wife and children, Zhong Jiudao took his clothes and went to take a shower.

It was pouring rain outside, and Zhong Jiudao, who was riding his electric bike, got soaked.

He took off his clothes, revealing a slightly plump figure, but for Zhong Jiudao, who is 180cm tall, a little belly only makes him look more robust.

Warm hot water flowed from the showerhead overhead, washing away the cold clinging to the body and the fatigue in the mind.

Insulated from the torrential rain outside, this is why a home is known as a safe haven.

Purple lightning ripped through the night sky, accompanied by a deafening roar of thunder.

The sound of thunder also masked the sound of the gate being destroyed.

Then came the wife's screams and the daughter's shrieks.

"ah--!!"

Once dressed, Zhong Jiudao immediately opened the bathroom door and ran to the bedroom door.

The broken door lay on the ground, and in the pitch-black room, a pair of blood-red eyes stared at Zhong Jiudao.

Zhong Jiudao felt a chill rush straight to his head.

He turned on the room light with trembling hands.

His wife, Zhao Yin, was being held up by her hair by a pale hand with sharp claws.

The lifeless eyes stared anxiously in the direction of her daughter, blood dripping from the corner of her mouth.

Blood soaked the blue cashmere sheets, and the headless body lay on the bed, bleeding profusely.

Right forearm missing.

There were several horrific holes in his body!

The light shone on the monster with red eyes.

The monster's skin was deathly pale, devoid of color, and its face revealed it to be a young boy.

Its exposed fangs were stained with blood, and it was still chewing inside its mouth.

The monster's other hand was gripping its daughter Zhong Mianyu's neck.

Zhong Jiudao recognized the monster.

Last week, he caught a thief stealing batteries, but the boy was only sixteen years old.

Zhong Jiudao discussed with his colleagues that they should detain him for three days to teach him a lesson.

And so, sixteen-year-old Huang Song was locked up for three days.

On the second day after he was locked up, Huang Song's grandmother passed away.

His purpose in stealing was to pay for his grandmother's medical expenses.

Upon learning of his grandmother's whereabouts, Huang Song, who had relied on her since childhood, suffered a mental breakdown.

He doesn't hate this unjust world.

I don't hate this cannibalistic world.

But he hated Zhong Jiudao for locking him up.

This caused him to miss out on his grandmother's medical expenses.

At midnight, Huang Song jumped off the building. His hatred caused him to die and become a second-tier ghoul.

It found its dwelling on Chung Kau Road.

Just then, it began chewing on Zhao Yin's right palm, the taste of blood stimulating its nasal cavity.

The flesh and blood slid through its esophagus, entered its body, and nourished its limbs and bones.

Its wonderful taste is intoxicating.

Under Zhong Jiudao's incredulous gaze, it opened its mouth as wide as possible and forcefully swallowed Zhao Yin's head into its belly.

Like a python feeding.

Zhong Jiudao roared and lunged at Huang Song, but Huang Song kicked him out of the bedroom with incredible speed.

The powerful kick caused Zhong Jiudao to smash through the glass sliding door of the kitchen.

He crashed hard into the cabinet door.

Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, and he felt intense pain.

Huang Song, who was engrossed in the aroma of food, turned his gaze to Zhong Mianyu.

In its eyes, Zhong Mianyu was like a delicious lamb waiting to be slaughtered.

Soft bones, delicate skin, and although there isn't much flesh, the newly grown flesh and blood are undoubtedly a top-quality tonic.

With a dazed look in his eyes, Zhong Jiudao gasped for breath, felt a sweet taste in his throat, and spat out a mouthful of blood.

He stared intently at the bedroom, gazing at the nightmare he would never forget for the rest of his life.

"No, please don't!"

"Spare my child,"

Please!

His desperate pleas sounded to Huang Song like a victory song being played for the victor, and were simply delightful.

Huang Song opened his mouth, and his fangs were immediately revealed.

Zhong Mianyu couldn't even let out a wail.

The upper half of its body was held in Huang Song's mouth.

Its bleeding lower body fell to the ground, and its small head was tossed toward Zhong Jiudao.

Zhong Mianyu's head was slammed onto the floor, her forehead caved in, and she slowly rolled to Zhong Jiudao's front.

Zhong Jiudao let out a shrill roar.

"ah--!!"

His eyes widened in disbelief at what he was seeing.

Zhong Jiudao held his daughter's head in his trembling hands.

Warm blood stained his hands.

The image of his daughter's dull eyes was etched deeply into Zhong Jiudao's mind.

Overwhelmed with rage, he gently set Zhong Mianyu's head down, then slowly stood up and picked up the cleaver from the knife rack.

Huang Song is devouring the rest of Zhao Yin's body.

Zhong Jiudao's forehead veins bulged, and he felt as if something inside his body had been awakened.

His blood was boiling, driven by a thirst for revenge.

He rushed into the bedroom with the knife in his hand and slashed fiercely at Huang Song's neck.

Unfortunately, the cut only went in halfway and was not enough to completely destroy the pine tree.

Black blood splattered onto Zhong Jiudao's face, making him look as terrifying as a god of death from hell.

Huang Song, in pain, turned around and punched Zhong Jiudao, sending him crashing into the bedroom wall and sliding to the ground, panting heavily.

This attack made Zhong Jiudao's consciousness somewhat blurred, but his hand remained tightly gripping the knife.

Huang Song roared angrily and leaped toward Zhong Jiudao.

Zhong Jiudao immediately straightened up and moved away from Huang Song.

The power within his body was surging out continuously. Zhong Jiudao seized the moment when Huang Song lunged at him and punched Huang Song in the back.

Huang Song was knocked to the ground by the punch.

It didn't understand why Zhong Jiudao had suddenly become stronger.

He was clearly being beaten down by himself just now.

Zhong Jiudao didn't care about its thoughts; the flames of revenge burned in his chest.

Zhong Jiudao aimed at the wound he had just struck and slashed in again.

This caused Huang Song to scream in pain.

Huang Song tried to get up, but Zhong Jiudao held him down and he couldn't break free no matter what he did.

Zhong Jiudao was like a mountain, pressing down on Huang Song.

Zhong Jiudao unleashed his power and forcefully severed Huang Song's neck.

Huang Song's head was like a ball, rolling a few times on the floor before hitting the wall and starting to dissipate.

Zhong Jiudao only stood up after the black particles had completely disappeared.

He threw down the knife, went to the kitchen, picked up his daughter's head from the floor, and went back to the room.

Zhao Yin was eaten by Huang Song until she only had her left leg left.

Zhong Jiudao held his daughter's head in one hand and his wife's leg with the other.

He lay down on the bed, which was soaked in blood.

Overnight, Zhong Jiudao lost his wife and daughter.
