Chapter 33 [VIP]
"I'm not going." Xie Nanyi's answer was crisp and decisive; she hung up the phone without waiting for a reply.
The Xie family may have a unique talent for pretending to be devoted lovers, which allows them to hide their cold-hearted nature so well that others truly believe they are deeply in love.
They're all just a bunch of despicable people.

Having successfully completed his assignment, Pei Xingzhi was a little too excited today. His previous weariness vanished, and he lay in bed for a long time without feeling sleepy.
Forcing oneself to fall asleep while fully awake is extremely difficult. Pei Xingzhi spent a long time trying to fall asleep in bed, but finally decided to get up and give himself some more leisure time.
Most people were asleep at this time. Pei Xingzhi browsed through various apps and finally opened the level that he had long since put aside.
Upon opening the app, the familiar loading screen appeared again. Looking at the various races on the screen, Pei Xingzhi curled his lip and rolled his eyes at the elf in the corner, hoping he wouldn't encounter anything unlucky again.
The game finished loading, and Pei Xingzhi settled into a comfortable position on the bed. Just as he placed the cushions, a flash of light appeared on the screen. Startled by the sudden attack, Pei Xingzhi quickly controlled his wizard to dodge the slime's attack. Inside the yellow armor was a blindingly bright yellow unidentified object; upon closer inspection, the object inside the armor was wriggling.
Pei Xingzhi had always been terrified of such scenes, and just one glance made his stomach churn. He suppressed his nausea and manipulated the wizard to retreat. Before he could switch weapons, an elf appeared out of nowhere behind him, using the ice spike he had just swung out to leap forward and shoot an arrow. Then, the elf switched to a longsword and slashed at the slime.
The slime yelled and then turned into an unidentified puddle within the magic circle set up by the wizard.
Pei Xingzhi covered his eyes, took a deep breath, and moved the wizard to the side to the accompaniment of triumphant joy.
His mouth is always right, it never says good things but always says bad things. He just said not to run into anything unlucky, and as soon as he came in, he encountered a disgusting slime.
Pei Xingzhi has always hated this dungeon. If he had to play it himself, no matter how generous the rewards were, he would never touch it. It just so happened that someone was logging in for a proxy today, and he didn't check the time before logging in, so he was unlucky enough to run into it.
Just as Pei Xingzhi was about to switch accounts and have Dai Gan take over, he received a new message on the communication side.
[Proxy Hunter]: Boss, boss, what's up with you logging in all of a sudden?! I'm fighting mutated slimes!
[Sweetheart Bunny]: I didn't expect you to still be playing so late. You can continue playing, I'm leaving now.
[Proxy]: No, no, no! Boss, you can't log off! This boss is a mutated boss, and you can't disconnect in the middle of the fight. If I log back in, the team will probably be forcibly disbanded. Boss, you'll have to fight it by yourself this time.
[Sweetheart Bunny]: Are we going to keep playing? Wasn't it already over?
[Grinding service]: The yellow slime is only the first stage of the slime level. The BOSS's full form hasn't appeared yet, so you'll probably have to fight it twice more later.
Upon seeing the words "two more times," Pei Xingzhi felt completely unwell. That one glance had already given him goosebumps; if the slime mutated again, he wouldn't be able to handle it at all.
He would rather not have this title.
Just as Pei Xingzhi was about to refuse to let Dai Gan continue to come back to do the daily tasks, Dai Gan sent over his pleading message.
[Proxy Farmer]: Boss, please! No one has ever cleared the Slime Mutation dungeon yet. If you clear it, you'll be the first to clear it! That first clear title is really useful to me! Could you please help me clear it?
Pei Xingzhi stared at the screen, unsure how to refuse. He had essentially signed a long-term contract with this account booster, and he usually played the game diligently, reporting his resource status to him daily, never touching his resources, and sometimes even helping him with extra dungeons.
[Sweetheart Bunny]: Okay.
Pei Xingzhi typed and sent.
Since we're going to fight anyway, we might as well just go for it this time.
Pei Xingzhi closed the chat window and looked back at the game screen.
He remembered that his account should have been in a team with someone just now, but now the screen only showed him. Pei Xingzhi controlled the wizard and circled the minimap twice, then after a few seconds of stunned silence, he remembered that the team data could be viewed in the system.
Pei Xingzhi brought up the system, opened the team list, and immediately felt his vision go black.
The person he teamed up with was an elf, and below that elf was his resentful nickname: "Ultimate Idiot."
"..."
Can he just throw away all that first-time BOSS clear, all that generous reward, all that years of friendship?
Can he still unsubscribe now?
Why did I team up with him?
[Pumpkin Party]: "What are you looking for? You've been acting like a madman since the beginning? Can you even fight? If you can't, then hurry up and sit in the corner and obediently use healing items."
The message from the annoying guy popped up in the team chat, and the vanished elf turned off its invisibility and moved over from not far away.
Pei Xingzhi was in a relatively good mood today and was too lazy to argue with such a lunatic. He only made a sarcastic gesture and still managed to keep a respectful distance in his words.
[peipei]: "TD"
[peipei]: "If you don't want to play, just quit."
[Pumpkin Party]: "Which eye of yours saw me say I didn't want to fight anymore?"
[peipei]: "If you curse me again, I'll kick you out."
[Pumpkin Party]: "..."
[Pumpkin Party]: "That's not what you said when you were begging me."
[peipei]: "Who asked you for help? That was what I said on behalf of Gan. If you want to find someone, you should go find him."
[Pumpkin Party]: "Don't blame everything on the proxy server. How could a proxy server ask me for half a month just for your first clear title?"
[peipei]: "Please, do you need half a month?"
[Pumpkin Party]: "Of course."
Pei Xingzhi was stunned. So this was the professional ethics of a liver surrogate? He couldn't let his good brother down.
[peipei]: "Then I'll let it go for now. You better give me a good beating later."
[Pumpkin Party]: "Okay."
The inexplicable conversation ended, and both of them frowned as they looked at the chat box on the screen.
Why does this conversation feel so eerie?
The dungeon didn't give the two any time to think. The two minutes ended quickly, and the dungeon map interface slowly changed. Narrow cracks appeared in the ground, and the things that poured out gathered on the ground. After seven or eight seconds, they merged and took shape, turning into a blue slime.
The blue slime is much better than the yellow slime from before; at least Pei Xingzhi can accept its appearance.
[Pumpkin Party]: "I'll focus on attacking, you heal."
[peipei]: "I'm a wizard, not a healer. Enter the magic circle, and I'll give you a buff."
Pumpkin Party naturally refused to listen to Pei Xingzhi's words, and the two of them fought separately. The slime map was divided in two by the two of them, with the wizard and the elf staying in their respective territories and fighting the BOSS in their own half.
The consequence of their lack of cooperation was that their attacks became slow, and what should have been a less than half-hour task took them almost an hour to defeat the boss.
The elf fired the final arrow, and the wizard chanted a spell to dissolve the BOSS. The final form was defeated, and the game was successfully completed.
The victory song started playing again. Pei Xingzhi rested his chin on his hand, looked at the screen, and couldn't help but yawn.
How incredibly boring.
This was definitely the most boring boss he had ever fought.
With the BOSS defeated, the world promptly sent out a notification of victory. The long-lost IDs "peipei" and "Pumpkin Party" reappeared before the public, successfully causing the long-silent world to explode once again.
However, the two people at the center of the incident had no time to care about these things; at that moment, they were fighting over the unequal division of the spoils.
The most sought-after material in the Slime Dungeon is naturally Slime Slime, which is an essential material for high-level weapons. Neither of them was willing to give up this material.
[peipei]: "This is the boss I discovered, so the materials should be mine!"
Pei Xingzhi might have given in to anyone else, but since it was Pumpkin Party, he would never give up the slime to them, even if it meant giving it away.
[Pumpkin Party]: "Can't you be reasonable? You're the one who begged me to do this dungeon, so of course the materials should belong to me." Xie Nanyi hadn't even had a chance to vent his anger at the Xie family, and Peipei just had to walk right into his line of fire again. He was determined to get the materials this time.
[peipei]: "I already said that was a liver transplant, not mine. If you want to find someone, go find him! This material is mine!"
[Pumpkin Party]: "Whether it's you or someone else who's using your account, it's your account, so you have to give it to me!"
[peipei]: "What did you even do in this dungeon? Didn't you check the results? I was the MVP, I contributed the most, so if anyone should be credited, it should be me!"
[Pumpkin Party]: "You only finish off the enemy after the final blow, what kind of MVP is that? Go look at the attack leaderboard, I'm ranked ahead of you."
[peipei]: "I don't care about this ranking or that ranking! I'm not giving it to you! I can still beat it even without you!"
[Pumpkin Party]: "..."
Pei Xingzhi was waiting for a reply from the other side, his fingers already on the keyboard, having thought of his next sentence. But after waiting for a long time, all the other side sent was a string of periods. Pei Xingzhi didn't understand what he was trying to say, so he tentatively sent a question mark.
[peipei]: "?"
Two minutes after sending the question mark, the sprite was right in front of me, but I didn't receive any reply in the chat box.
Pei Xingzhi looked at the motionless elf and felt a little flustered.
Did he go a little too far?
Although this annoying person has been targeting him, it seems that he is indeed being unethical in this matter. What he did seems no different from what this annoying person did.
[peipei]: "What's wrong with you? Did I go too far? Do you really want this so badly? Don't be angry, I'll give it to you, okay?"
There was still no reply from the other end.
Pei Xingzhi tapped his fingers on the keyboard, steeling himself to add a few more top-tier gems to the gift page. Before he could send them out, the elf opposite him suddenly moved, and Pei Xingzhi's temporary inventory slots were instantly emptied.
The change came too suddenly. Before Pei Xingzhi could even complain to Pumpkin Party, the person quickly logged off.
Pei Xingzhi looked at his empty backpack and the deserted map, resisting the urge to smash his keyboard, and closed the game, clicking uninstall.
Now, forget about being sleepy; Pei Xingzhi was filled only with anger.
Overwhelmed by emotion, Pei Xingzhi, carrying two bottles of wine, gritted his teeth and knocked on Xie Nanyi's door.
As soon as the door opened, Pei Xingzhi swung his arms and walked in. He sat down on Xie Nanyi's bed with his legs spread apart and waved his hand, saying boldly, "Drink with me!"
