Chapter 10 Damn it! My orange juice!

Hengdian is where the opening ceremony of "Dynasty" was held, and also where the first palace scene was filmed.

There's an unwritten custom in the circle: find a master to calculate an auspicious day, cover the altar with red velvet, place a statue of Guan Yu on the altar, and put incense burners and offerings on both sides.

Then, the main members of the production team took turns burning incense and praying to the gods. Finally, they lifted the red cloth covering the camera and announced the start of filming.

Once the above steps are followed, the ceremony is complete.

"Have Lin Yang and the others arrived yet? Go and urge them, don't miss the auspicious time." Zheng Linzhou looked up at the sky and said, while turning the mini electric fan in his hand to the highest setting.

This weather is unbearably hot. Even though there are eaves providing shade in Hengdian, there's still a sweltering heat all around.

"They said we're almost there. I'll go check the entrance again; we might be lost." The assistant standing next to Zheng Linzhou flipped through the location Lin Yang had sent not long ago and started walking out.

Because of Zheng Linzhou's urging, the assistant director walked in a bit too fast. With her head down and only focused on walking forward, she almost bumped into Lin Yang, who was carrying a large bag of drinks as she entered.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't bump into you, did I, Sister Lin?" The assistant director apologized hastily.

Lin Yang quickly checked the things she was carrying, breathed a sigh of relief, and felt glad that she hadn't spilled them.

"It's alright. Could you help me get these drinks and distribute them to everyone here? It's hot, and everyone's thirsty. Some orange juice or lemon juice can help cool you down. See what you like to drink and pick one yourself. Thank you." Lin Yang didn't delve into the matter. The things were too heavy to carry, so she used the request to distribute drinks to divert the attention of the person in front of her.

The assistant nodded, took the heavy drink from Lin Yang's hand, and then called over a few staff members to help take the drinks from Duan Tiantian and the driver behind her.

With someone's help, they felt instantly come back to life, their fingertips stiff from lifting the weight.

"Director Zheng, it's hot, how about a glass of orange juice to cool down?" Lin Yang deliberately left a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice in his hand and walked past his assistant into the room. "I'm so sorry, Director Zheng, there was a bit of traffic on the way, which delayed the opening ceremony. I'm really sorry."

When Zheng Linzhou received the orange juice, he initially had a stern face, but when he saw Lin Yang's knuckles, which were red from carrying the drink, his expression softened.

"Your intentions are good, but don't do this again next time. Luckily, it didn't waste any time. Take a break and say hello to Xu Chengzhi and the others. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 12 o'clock sharp." Zheng Linzhou pointed to Xu Chengzhi sitting in the corner and didn't say anything more difficult.

Lin Yang nodded obediently, then took a glass of orange juice from Duan Tiantian (the ice hadn't completely melted), and strode towards Xu Chengzhi.

Xu Chengzhi chose a corner spot. There were no chairs, so he casually sat on the steps. Even though there was no sunlight, his assistant thoughtfully held up an umbrella for him to protect him from UV rays.

He held the newly printed script in his hands, engrossed in reading it, completely absorbed.

He seemed oblivious to everything around him, and even when some of the bolder female supporting characters tried to get close to him, he ignored them completely.

Like a painting standing alone, high on the wall, it is meant to be admired but not to be trifled with.

However, Lin Yang just wanted to tease him!

His fans are called Orange Juice, so he probably likes to drink orange juice, right?

Lin Yang unconsciously gripped the bag she was carrying. The remaining coolness seeped through the plastic bag and into her fingertips, temporarily easing the scorching heat of the surrounding temperature.

To be honest, she had been focused on studying the script lately. The female lead's character really resonated with her: a passionate and loyal female general whose patriotism outweighed her budding romance, and who ultimately sacrificed her life for her country.

My goodness, how long has it been since she received such a good script?

Since she won every major international award, she has become extremely picky about scripts, sometimes only accepting one project a year.

Unexpectedly, she encountered such a good script after coming into this world, and devoted herself to thoroughly understanding the character.

She had no time to research the scumbag Xu Chengzhi. Apart from glancing at his basic information and photos online at the beginning, she knew almost nothing else about him.

It's already pretty good that you know his fan name and the nickname his fans give him, which is "Orange Juice," okay?

What is a revenge mission? Is it delicious? Is it better to find a good script? Can it be more appealing than building a career?

Ahem, complaining aside, she only thinks like this when she's bursting with ambition. She really wants to go home. She doesn't want to fail her mission and be stuck in this godforsaken place for eternity, dying at the hands of that scumbag.

However, since this revenge mission involves getting Xu Chengzhi embroiled in negative news, we need to get closer to him first and create a good impression before we can have a chance to create negative news, right?

As Lin Yang watched the distance between them gradually shorten and the invisible light emanating from Xu Chengzhi became even more dazzling, she couldn't help but swallow hard.

She wasn't after his body, pshaw! She wasn't after his looks, hmm! She was doing it all for the sake of the mission's progress!

"Auntie—" Just as Lin Yang and Xu Chengzhi were only a few steps apart, a loud voice, both familiar and unfamiliar, called out from her side.

Lin Yang stiffened. Was this someone calling her?

"Auntie, it really is you!" A boy with a slightly immature face ran towards Lin Yang with great joy after seeing her face.

Lin Yang instinctively tried to dodge, but this guy was incredibly fast, and he flashed in front of her in just a few seconds.

Left with no other choice, she could only cross her arms in a defensive posture, her eyes revealing a deep sense of alienation.

"Who are you?" Lin Yang reacted too quickly in self-defense, and the drink she was carrying was hit in her chest by the impact. Her chest not only hurt, but also felt quite... cold.
