Chapter 13 Nephew

Xiao Zheng's smile is like sunshine, seemingly infectious. Watching him smile makes you smile involuntarily, and your mood improves considerably.

It seems this distant relative knows quite a bit about her family situation.

Lin Yang shrugged, the slight sadness brought on by the original owner's memories quickly dissipating. "What, are you a messenger he sent? Otherwise, how did you end up in the entertainment industry?"

She wasn't the original owner of this body, and the sadness brought by her memories was only temporary and wouldn't have much of an impact on her.

"Oh, Auntie, I just finished the college entrance exam and was bored, so my friend dragged me to audition for a role in 'Dynasty.' He didn't get the part, but I was inexplicably chosen to be the third male lead." Xiao Zheng said helplessly, then paused and continued to explain, "What do you mean by 'lobbyist'? I agreed to play the third male lead because I heard you were the female lead. Maybe I could catch up with you. We haven't seen each other much in the past few years."

As he spoke, Xiao Zheng felt a little aggrieved. He had been looking forward to getting together with her, but when Lin Yang first met him on set, she completely forgot who he was.

Lin Yang guiltily avoided Xiao Zheng's aggrieved gaze, touched the tip of her nose, and awkwardly changed the subject, "Haha... Nephew, how did you know I'm playing the female lead? Isn't Director Zheng's production known for its excellent secrecy?"

"Who wouldn't know? It's all over the internet, okay? When Director Zheng was casting for the male lead and second female lead, he vaguely told everyone to go back and wait for further notice. But with you, he just picked you directly and dismissed the rest of the people in line. With such an obvious result, who wouldn't know?"

If she wasn't the one playing the lead role, could she really say she didn't know?

She doesn't like using Weibo at all; you could say she lives in the 2G era, and she's always the last to know any news.

"Is...is that so?" Lin Yang pulled out a tissue to wipe the sweat from her forehead. It was so hot that even with Duan Tiantian holding an umbrella for her, she couldn't stop sweating.

Xiao Zheng couldn't help but roll his eyes, feeling sorry for his aunt who couldn't keep up with the information age. Just as he was about to say something more, he was interrupted by the voices of the staff coming from afar.

"Sister Lin—" The voice trailed off, immediately drawing Lin Yang's attention. "The makeup artist is looking for you!"

"Hey, I'm coming!" Lin Yang replied hastily, then turned to say goodbye to Xiao Zheng, "I'm leaving now, someone's looking for me. You should hurry into the dressing room too, don't get heatstroke standing outside in this heat."

After saying that, he hurriedly led Duan Tiantian towards the dressing room.

Lin Yang's departing figure gradually became a small dot in Xiao Zheng's eyes. The sunlight was a bit dazzling, and he squinted his eyes reflexively, muttering to himself.

"Auntie, something seems different. What's different about it...?"
