Chapter 211

On a stormy night, some are happy while others are sad.

At the gate of an old house in the suburbs of Jinling, a straight figure stands tall.

From the start to the end of the wedding, which was the talk of the town, he stayed at the entrance of the old house in Jinling the whole time, without ever leaving for a moment.

He was waiting for the people inside to summon him.

During the day, the sky was clear and there was nothing to worry about standing here. But now that night has fallen, thunder and lightning have struck, and torrential rain has come down without warning.

"I want to see your Mr. Ex." The autumn rain was no joke; the biting cold pierced the skin, making one's teeth chatter.

During the day, some people were willing to coldly reply to him, "Our master does not receive guests."

It's raining heavily now, and there's no one guarding the entrance, only the tightly closed iron gate.

He stood alone in the torrential rain, only the raindrops listening to his murmur, "I need to see Mr. Ex."

The security guards had long since retreated to the small house behind the iron gate due to the heavy rain.

The cold autumn wind howled, carrying raindrops. A few people huddled together by the electric heater, rubbing their stiff hands.

"Why isn't that person giving up? It seems like he's still standing there wanting to see our master, isn't he?"

"Who cares? As long as we do our job well and don't let people who aren't on the list in, we'll just make sure they don't come in."

"Too."

A few people were chatting casually to pass the time when suddenly, an old man holding a black umbrella opened the door.

"Butler." The security guard who was warming himself by the fire immediately stood up and greeted the visitor respectfully.

The butler nodded slightly and glanced at the head security guard. "Open the door. The master said to let Mr. Chu Yu in."

"Yes!" Since the master had spoken, how could they dare not obey?

Grab the key, put on the raincoat, and with a flashlight in hand, head towards the iron gate.

The padlock clicked down.

Chu Yu, standing with his head down in the rain, was slightly stunned, thinking he had misheard amidst the noisy rain.

His lips had long been washed white by the rain, and his teeth were trembling and chattering from the cold.

"Let's go, Mr. Chu Yu." The butler handed him an umbrella, gesturing for him to follow.

"Thank you." Chu Yu took the umbrella with trembling hands and politely thanked him.

The two did not communicate from the front door to the entrance hall inside the house.

Upon entering the house, Chu Yu was soaking wet, with rainwater dripping from his trouser legs and forming a water stain that stretched all the way to the door of Mr. Ex's study.

The nanny gave Chu Yu a disdainful glare before turning to get the mop.

"Mr. Chu Yu, the master is inside. You can speak at the door." The butler led Chu Yu to the study at the end of the corridor, showing no intention of leaving.

"Well, there are some things I'd like to say to Mr. Ex alone." Chu Yu tried to calm the chill in his body and indicated to the butler that he could leave.

The butler remained standing there, motionless. "The master has already given instructions. If you have said what you need to say and there is nothing else, I will take you out again."

This means they didn't intend for him to stay any longer.

It's an immense blessing to even let him in.

Upon hearing this, Chu Yu's face darkened.

"Mr. Ex, I would like to cooperate with you. Would I have the honor?" Chu Yu suppressed his displeasure and went straight to the point of his visit to Mr. Ex.

"Cough cough." Even through the door, Chu Yu could hear the weak cough from inside. "Oh? Cooperation?"

The people inside the room seemed intrigued after hearing him say that.

"Let me guess what brings you here, cough cough..." The coughing continued inside the room.
