Chapter 275

Is it the fifth day, or a week?

Lin Yang couldn't remember.

In this secluded dungeon, she never saw Mr. Ex again; only the maids came to deliver her meals and wash her body at set times.

At first, she resisted fiercely and yelled at those people to leave.

But later, without food and nutrition, his strength gradually faded away.

She lay on the ground, half-conscious, watching the maids enter the dungeon. She was too weak to speak up and drive them away, nor did she have the strength to resist their touching.

In the past few days, she has been summoned to the consciousness space by the system several times in a daze, where it issues tasks and announces to itself that she has successfully completed them.

Lin Yang had pressed the system for answers about Mr. Ex's reasons for doing this, but every time it hesitated to speak, its master, Mr. Ex, noticed everything.

Before she could finish speaking, Lin Yang was banished back to the real world by the consciousness space.

Later, after receiving an official notification from the system, she immediately disappeared.

I was afraid she would ask me anything more.

Before she knew it, the system had already issued three tasks, which Mr. Ex completed quickly for her.

The tenth day, which is the day the last task is issued.

Darkness swept through her brain, and Lin Yang was pulled back into that space of consciousness.

Instead of immediately issuing an official task, the system remained silent.

"What? You're not issuing the last mission because you can't bear to part with me? Or do you need me to kill someone again?" Lin Yang had been confined for so long that her mental state was rather extreme.

"Host, please don't do this," the system said softly.

"What can I do? You all ganged up on me like this, and when I want to know the truth, you keep quiet. The person I love is missing, and I stumbled into this world by accident, as if you're just playing with me. I'm already lucky I haven't gone crazy. What more do you want from me, huh?" Lin Yang was provoked by the system's words and jumped up and down, frantically pulling at her disheveled hair, her smile terrifying.

Lin Yang didn't know why her emotions were so easily triggered.

Perhaps it was because she had been locked up for too long, or perhaps it had been ten days, ten days without any news from Xu Chengzhi, or perhaps the accumulation of various things had finally broken her last string.

It made her no longer like herself.

"Host, please calm down. Haven't you always wanted to know Xu Chengzhi's whereabouts? Aren't you also curious about why my master chose you?" The system threw out the questions Lin Yang had asked it earlier one by one.

"What do you mean?" Lin Yang's grip on her hair slowly loosened, and she looked up blankly. "So you're finally going to tell me?"

The light on the system's main screen brightened slightly, slowly falling on Lin Yang's face.

"Host, if you're willing to do me a favor, I can tell you all the answers you want to know. How about it?" The system was negotiating with her, and the terms were very tempting.

Illuminated by the only beam of light in the consciousness space, Lin Yang's malnourished face appeared deathly pale. "You really...will you tell me anything? What if your master tries to stop you?"

She still didn't quite believe it and asked tentatively, after all, it was just a bunch of emotionless code data being manipulated.

"A gentleman's word is as good as his bond. Host, shouldn't you be worried about what favor I need from you right now?"

"Then, what do you want me to help you with?" Lin Yang really wanted to complain about the system. You're just piling up code, how dare you call yourself a gentleman? But she held back.
