With doubts in her heart, Lin Yang took a step forward to find out what was going on.
Just as she lifted her foot, two conscientious security guards reached out to stop her. "Ms. Lin, we were sent by Mr. Xu to protect your safety. The people in the car are of unknown identity, so it's best if you don't get close."
"I'll just go take a look, nothing will happen. That car looks really familiar, I feel like I've seen it somewhere before." Lin Yang tried to persuade the stubborn person in front of her.
"Excuse me, Ms. Lin, this car has been parked there spying on you. It's obvious they have ill intentions. I think we should leave as soon as possible." The security guard blocked Lin Yang's way and refused to budge.
"Tsk." Lin Yang adjusted her baseball cap, thinking to herself how Xu Chengzhi had sent her two inflexible guys.
That car looked so familiar! She swore she'd seen it somewhere before, and even ridden in it!
She silently withdrew her foot, having no choice but to obey the security guards and let them escort her home.
No sooner had she pulled her foot back than the door of the understated yet luxurious black car opened.
A pair of long, slender legs emerged from the car first, coming into Lin Yang's view.
Hmm, those long legs look familiar too.
Lin Yang's attention was drawn to the car, and she couldn't move her feet. She just stood there staring intently to see who the owner was.
He wore a blue suit jacket and adjusted his coat with his well-defined knuckles, his expensive watch on display.
The next second, Lin Yang saw the face she was most curious about.
The car owner bent down before getting out of the car.
Upon seeing the man, the two security guards were stunned, silently praying that he hadn't overheard them saying the car owner had ill intentions.
"Xu Chengzhi!" Upon recognizing the familiar face, Lin Yang exclaimed the car owner's name with delight.
"Yangyang~" Xu Chengzhi stood straight beside the car, gently calling her name and opening his arms.
The next second, Lin Yang lunged and crashed into his arms.
Overjoyed, he forgot his own strength and bumped into Xu Chengzhi, causing him to jolt in the chest.
He couldn't control himself and let out a muffled groan.
"What's wrong? Did I bump into you too hard? I'm sorry, I was so happy that I forgot to hold back. Are you alright, Chengzhi?" Lin Yang tenderly rubbed Xu Chengzhi's chest, looking up at him like a child who had made a mistake.
"Yangyang, I'm fine, but could you call me 'brother' so I can hear it? That will ease the pain." Xu Chengzhi frowned, his face revealing a hint of pain.
"Brother, brother, let me blow on it and it won't hurt anymore." Lin Yang called him brother without hesitation, pouting her little lips and blowing on the chest that she had bumped into.
"Hey, good boy." Xu Chengzhi patted Lin Yang's head triumphantly, his face no longer showing any pain, only a mischievous grin.
He's tricking her into calling him "brother" again!
Realizing what had happened, Lin Yang punched him hard in the chest to vent her temper, "Why do you always lie to me! I don't know where you got this little quirk from, but in every life you always call me 'brother'!"
"Isn't it because my little Yangyang called me 'brother' that it was so sweet to my heart? Does it hurt? Let me rub it for you." Xu Chengzhi said cheekily as he grabbed her hand.
"By the way, when did you come to the hospital? Didn't you say you had something to do today? Those reporters were surrounding me and asking me all sorts of questions, and you didn't even come to help me out! You just hid in the car and watched the show!" Lin Yang pouted, quite dissatisfied.
"I'm done with my work, so I came over. Yangyang, do you know that if I come up here to help you out, we'll be trending again? Do you want to be trending? If you do, I'll hold a press conference right now!" Xu Chengzhi said, and then actually pulled out his phone to scare Lin Yang.
Having been bombarded with trending topics in her previous life, Lin Yang quickly stopped Xu Chengzhi, "No, no, no! You should just stay in the car and watch the show from now on."
