Under Xu Chengzhi's gaze, Lin Yang reluctantly moved her buttocks closer.
She didn't know what to say, so she buried her head, twisted her sleeves, and bit her lip.
Xu Chengzhi continued scrolling through Weibo with his head down, his expression not good, and he didn't seem to intend to say anything.
Silence filled the air.
Finally, Lin Yang couldn't help but speak up and break the awkward silence.
"You... weren't you ignoring me?" Lin Yang thought for a long time before finally asking this question to break the atmosphere.
She had the air of a young lady who had been wronged.
Xu Chengzhi pressed the power button to turn off the phone, then tossed it aside and asked seriously, "Don't you hate me?"
"No... Ouch..." Lin Yang felt guilty and hurriedly explained, accidentally biting her tongue. "No!"
Was it that obvious?
But what can I do when you're a total scumbag by nature?
"Don't lie to me, I can feel it." Xu Chengzhi carefully cupped her face. "Open your mouth, let me see."
Lin Yang didn't resist and obediently opened her mouth, sticking out a little bit of her tongue. She spoke unclearly, "Is there any bleeding? I think I smelled blood just now."
Xu Chengzhi held her chin and examined her carefully. "Your tongue is indeed bitten raw. You idiot, how could you be so stupid?"
A perfectly round bead of blood was oozing from the tip of her tongue.
The bright red color overshadowed the delicate pink tip of the tongue.
"Hoo..." Xu Chengzhi leaned closer, his lips forming a circle.
The warm breath landed on Lin Yang's tongue, making it tickle.
He blew on and off, making Lin Yang blush and her eyes dart around, unsure of where to look.
"Phew... Does it still hurt?" Xu Chengzhi blew on Lin Yang's face while glancing at her out of the corner of his eye.
The hand that was cupping his chin traced the contours of his face. Xu Chengzhi's throat was a little dry, and his Adam's apple bobbed unconsciously. "Why is your face so hot?"
Lin Yang reached out and pushed away the hand covering her cheek, turned her head away, and slowly withdrew her tongue from her mouth in pain. She stammered, "No...it's...it's just too hot."
The warmth from Xu Chengzhi's mouth still lingered on Lin Yang's tongue, a tingling, numb sensation, like a light feather tickling her.
"Are you hot?" Xu Chengzhi stared at Lin Yang's smooth forehead, but couldn't see a single drop of sweat.
"It's hot!" Lin Yang insisted.
Xu Chengzhi didn't expose her further; he just smiled, picked up his phone again, and continued scrolling through Weibo.
Lin Yang turned around and covered her flushed cheeks for a while before the color gradually faded.
Turning back, I saw Xu Cheng's lower lip drooping again, his eyes so engrossed they seemed to be about to disappear into the screen.
Lin Yang shifted her position, getting closer, and could barely make out the content on the screen as Xu Chengzhi swiped his finger.
As she watched, her expression mirrored Xu Chengzhi's.
Lin Yang couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you angry about these people's rumors and slander?"
Xu Chengzhi paused, shook his head, and said in a nonchalant tone, "The innocent are innocent."
"Didn't the PR team try to handle this for you?" For some reason, Lin Yang felt an overwhelming sense of guilt upon hearing Xu Chengzhi's insincere reply.
Xu Chengzhi shook his head again, repeating his previous statement, "The innocent will remain innocent."
He then logged out of Weibo, turned off his phone, and put it in his pants pocket, as if he wouldn't think of it if it wasn't in his sight.
"The innocent will clear themselves," so why is Xu Chengzhi's brow furrowed because of this?
Lin Yang felt sorry for him from the bottom of her heart, seeing him keeping his true thoughts to himself, and her fingertips involuntarily reached out.
It landed on his furrowed brow.
"Did I... disturb you?" A dark figure approached from a distance and spoke up at an extremely inopportune moment.
