After discussing all the relevant matters with Director Zheng, Lin Yang readily signed the contract for the female lead in "Dynasty".
Director Zheng and she hit it off very well, and he even wanted to invite her to have dinner together at a restaurant later.
"Thank you for your kind offer, Director Zheng." Lin Yang looked out of the tent; the sky was dim and a few streetlights were already on. "However, I really have something to do tonight. Next time, next time I will definitely choose a good time to personally treat Director Zheng to a special meal."
Out of the corner of my eye, I glanced to my right and rear and bumped into Producer Zhang, who let out a cold snort.
Just as she was having a pleasant conversation with Director Zheng, she felt someone behind her grinding their teeth menacingly and staring at her with resentful eyes.
Lin Yang couldn't help but shiver. Her actions today had squeezed out Nie Wei, who was originally slated to be produced by Zhang, and this feud had now been established.
But who cares? In her original world, she had countless grudges against characters she liked, but she still lived a good life, didn't she?
She also won several Best Actress awards for her acting skills.
"Since that's the case, I won't insist any further. Ms. Lin, you'll be joining the crew in a few days. I hope your acting won't disappoint me." Fortunately, Director Zheng was a straightforward person. Unlike other directors, he didn't blame Lin Yang for not giving him face by refusing a meal. Instead, he looked forward to seeing what surprises Lin Yang's acting would bring him.
Sure enough, in Zheng Duidui's mind, "talent" outweighs everything else.
Lin Yang muttered a few words to herself, smiled and said goodbye to Director Zheng, then took a taxi back to the hospital.
When she arrived at the hospital, she first sneaked to the restroom, took off her carefully tailored fiery red battle robe, and changed into loose casual clothes.
After tidying her hair in front of the bathroom mirror and checking that she hadn't left any flaws, Lin Yang carefully slipped back to her ward.
Lin Yang tiptoed and furtively peeked half her head inside, looking around for a long time, but she couldn't find a trace of Sister Wang in the luxurious ward she was in.
"Where is he?" she asked, scratching her head in confusion, her heart pounding and not daring to relax.
If Sister Wang catches her coming home so late and running around with her still-unhealed body, wouldn't she nag her all night long?
Just thinking about this scene made Lin Yang feel like his ears were already calloused.
"You're looking for me? Little Yangyang?" A familiar voice suddenly rang out behind her, and Lin Yang couldn't help but stiffen.
"Haha... Sister Wang, so you're here?" Lin Yang stiffly turned her head halfway, and Wang Rui's unchanging Western-style makeup jumped into view. She was truly on the verge of tears.
"Hehe, tell me, what kind of good deeds have you been up to behind my back?" Wang Rui forced a seemingly harmless smile, but she emphasized the word "good deeds" much more heavily than the other words.
Therefore, Lin Yang had no choice but to tell the truth about everything that happened today.
"Sister Wang, I was wrong, I'll never do it again!" Taking the initiative, Lin Yang covered her head after saying everything, looking at Wang Rui with a pitiful expression.
I thought I would be met with a long nagging from Sister Wang, saying that she was a real handful.
Unexpectedly, Sister Wang didn't nag at all; instead, she reached out and smoothed the stray hairs on her head.
“Yang, this is great news! I’m so happy that you’re so ambitious to try and get a role from the renowned director Zheng Linzhou.” Wang Rui paused. “What’s more, you’ve also done your part so well, landing the lead role! This is something to celebrate! But…”
Wang Rui unconsciously gripped her phone tighter, hesitant to speak.
"But what?" Lin Yang then noticed the phone in Wang Rui's hand. It seemed that Wang Rui had taken a call outside before she came back.
"However, the company has asked me to mentor a few new recruits recently, so I might not be able to join you on set." Wang Rui avoided Lin Yang's gaze, lowering her head guiltily, afraid to see the disappointment on Lin Yang's face.
Lin Yang was stunned for a few seconds, her breathing slowed down slightly, but she quickly returned to normal.
"It's okay, Sister Wang, you go ahead with your work. I can find an assistant to accompany me to the set, no problem." Lin Yang shrugged, pretending to be nonchalant.
"Are you really alright, Yang? Ever since I joined you, I've always been by your side whenever you're on set. I've never left you. This time..." Wang Rui looked at Lin Yang's nonchalant expression and felt even more uneasy.
"Stop, stop, stop getting sentimental! You know I can't stand sentimental talk!" Lin Yang interrupted Wang Rui. "You, just focus on managing your new talent. Do you know any top agents who only revolve around one artist? Get on with your dreams!"
Since inheriting the original owner's memories, Lin Yang has known that Wang Rui's dream is to become Asia's top agent, with all her artists becoming wildly popular throughout Asia.
In her previous life, Wang Rui only revolved around the original owner, working hard all her life, but she was only called a senior in the industry. In addition, the original owner made a fool of herself and became love-obsessed later on.
Throughout her life, Wang Rui ended up with nothing but loneliness and was even smeared by others, who said she had poor judgment of people and was even plagued by bad luck. As a result, many artists avoided her like the plague.
"Sister Wang, there's something I've owed you for a long time." Lin Yang took a deep breath and said solemnly, "Thank you, Sister Wang."
This belated thank you is probably what Lin Yang truly wanted to say to Wang Rui.
Wang Rui was stunned for a moment, feeling both amused and moved to tears. "You're the one who's talking to me? Telling me not to be sentimental? What about you? Seriously, it's not like it's a matter of life and death. I'm just going to mentor the newcomers, not like I'm not going to mentor you anymore. You're still my little Yangyang!"
