Chu Yu was finally discharged from the hospital after a long delay and returned to the film crew to act.
He missed a lot of scenes, and he's been rushing to reshoot them these past few days.
There was a scene where he cried while facing the ruthlessness of war, but he couldn't control his emotions, and the way he cried made Zheng Linzhou dissatisfied.
"Cut! Xiao Chu, it's not just simple sadness crying. It's a mixture of helplessness and hatred towards the war, as well as a desire for change. That's the kind of crying I want!" Zheng Linzhou called for a pause several times, rambling on to Chu Yu to express his thoughts.
"Okay, Director Zheng, I understand. I'll try my best to find that feeling." Chu Yu wiped away the tears she had managed to squeeze out from the corners of her eyes and nodded repeatedly in agreement with Zheng Linzhou.
"Okay, let's take a break. Xiao Chu, try to get it right in one take. We've already been delayed for too long because of this shot." Zheng Linzhou picked up the megaphone, and his voice echoed throughout the entire crew.
Lin Yang arrived at the film set very early to wait for filming to begin, but who knew that Chu Yu would delay for so long because of a single shot? She waited until she had memorized all of her lines for the day, only to be told that she had to take a break again.
She sat under the umbrella that Duan Tiantian had set up for her, fiddling with the script and memorizing it again.
I was so sick of vomiting that I took out my phone and opened Meituan to see what takeout to order for lunch.
Before they knew it, as they were flipping through the pages, Zheng Linzhou shouted, "Sixth shot, 18th take, begin!"
Lin Yang rummaged through the takeout menu while glancing up at Chu Yu.
The camera was almost right up to Chu Yu's face, and his dry tears were finally about to well up in his eyes.
Before a single tear could even fall, Zheng Linzhou picked up the loudspeaker again.
This time, there weren't as many gentle words of encouragement as before. He was known for being strict, and after so many takes, Chu Yu was still the same as before.
Zheng Linzhou, losing his temper, completely disregarded the large number of people on set and started cursing at Chu Yu, "Chu Yu, are you an idiot? Or even more stupid than an idiot? I've taught you, I've given you opportunities, we've filmed so many takes, and you still can't get the hang of it. Don't you know time is money? So many people are waiting for you for nothing, and you think you're so great? Damn it!"
Zheng Linzhou took a breath and continued to berate, "What do you care about? Do you know how many people are after your second male lead role? If you can't take the role, then get the hell out of here!"
The entire crew fell silent; no one dared to utter a single word.
Those who have been with Zheng Linzhou for years are used to his outbursts of anger and profanity.
Zheng Linzhou is known in the directing circle for his bad temper, so most of the actors who come to participate are aware of this.
But this was the first time he had ever gotten so angry since filming began.
"I'm sorry, director, please give me another chance, please..." Chu Yu silently accepted Zheng Linzhou's scolding and apologized in a low voice for who knows how many times.
Although he apologized verbally, a hint of fierceness and resentment flashed in his lowered eyes.
"No, your apology is worthless. Tell me how many chances I've given you? It's a miracle I've tolerated this long enough. Besides, you should apologize to the other actors who haven't even started filming yet because of you, not me!" Zheng Linzhou's anger continued to rise.
"I'm sorry, everyone, could you please give me another chance? I'm really sorry." Chu Yu turned around and apologized to everyone present again.
Many people in the room were tired of waiting and had cursed Chu Yu countless times in their hearts, but they still hypocritically said, "Yes, Director Zheng, let's give Chu Yu another chance."
