Chapter 16

"This person can change her face," Cassel whispered in Nie Wuhen's ear, watching Nie Wuhen turn sideways and avoid the sharp chrysanthemum petals. "She can also perform illusions, so you have to be careful."

Nie Wuhen held Cassel with one hand and held the Wuwang Sword with the other. Ten thousand swords were fired at the same time, balancing each other with the chrysanthemum rain of arrows. At the moment of collision, a huge energy wave was emitted, illuminating the surrounding flowers, plants and trees. Trees collapsed, sand and rocks flew, and everything seemed to be in chaos.

Nie Wuhen raised his hand and cut off the skeleton. The moment he turned sideways, countless skeletons appeared. Energy spread and illusions intertwined. For a moment, he could not tell what was real and what was fake.

"Brother!"

Bai Yi stood in front of Nie Wuhen, using his fan as mist, and the handle of the fan turned into a sword handle as he wished. He drew his sword out of its sheath, intending to chop off the hideous skeleton with one blow, but he did not expect that the moment the sword and the sword touched, the skeleton disappeared out of thin air!

Bai Yi was shocked and turned to look at Nie Wuhen, only to find that the latter had encountered the same situation as him!

Cassel was the first to sense the approach of danger. The moment he turned his head, he saw the real skeleton laughing and rushing towards him with its fangs and claws bared!

Cassel: “!!!”

He closed his eyes in panic, retracted his tentacles and dared not look back. The only sound he could hear was Bai Yi's shouting. When Cassel opened his eyes, he saw Nie Wuhen using his sword as a barrier to temporarily block the skeleton monster.

The king of the gluttonous beasts roared, and wherever he stomped his feet, the ground broke into pieces. Countless gluttonous beasts of all sizes pounced on the two men, like hyenas seeing sheep.

Cassel lay on Nie Wuhen's back, watching Nie Wuhen fighting with one hand. He suddenly felt like a waste, he could not do anything and was causing trouble for others.

The hand around Nie Wuhen's neck tightened and loosened, loosened and tightened again. Finally, he gritted his teeth and decided to jump down first so as not to hold Nie Wuhen back.

But Nie Wuhen's hand protecting him was too tight, and Nie Wuhen felt it almost as soon as Cassel moved.

The chrysanthemums brushed Nie Wuhen's cheek, leaving traces of blood. He raised his sword to kill a gluttonous beast, and kicked the corpse at his feet away. He took the time to turn his head and look at Cassel:

"Got it."

Cassel said nothing.

He glanced at the endless stream of gluttonous beasts rushing up, then glanced at Bai Yi who was fighting fiercely with the skeleton monster, pursed his lips, and said: "Nie Wuhen, I'm sorry."

Nie Wuhen said nothing.

I don't know when the moon came out, and I don't know when it turned blood red, just like the corpses on the ground. The bright red blood gathered into streams, and in the hazy moonlight, it condensed into a faint blood mist that slowly rose.

Cassel looked up, glanced at the chrysanthemum that was flying towards him, and suddenly reached out and grabbed the chrysanthemum.

The huge impact caused Cassel's hands to tremble, and he was almost knocked over!

But he held on. Blood flowed down his palm, dripping down and landing on Nie Wuhen's shoulder.

Nie Wuhen's pupils trembled.

"I'll tell you a secret," Cassel said, his face turning pale with pain, "My blood is very useful. I don't know why, and Barbatos won't let me ask."

Nie Wuhen dodged another round of attacks, retreated repeatedly, came under a big tree, and set up a barrier. He threw a bottle to Cassel, but Cassel didn't catch it. He reached out and touched the Wuwang Sword.

The Wuwang Sword did not recognize him and sent out sword waves to resist his approach. But it was too late. The blood flowed down the sword and dyed a large area red.

Nie Wuhen was a little annoyed. He pulled away the Wuwang Sword and said in a cold tone, "Don't touch other people's swords. Don't you know that its sword waves will cut your tendons and veins?"

Cassel pulled his hand back tremblingly, gritted his teeth and swallowed the pain in his throat. He didn't say anything, but just shed tears silently, his nose and eyes were red.

Nie Wuhen hesitated for a moment, but finally squatted down and said, "I will lead the gluttonous beast king and the skeleton away, and you hide in the bushes over there. I will take you out, but after we get out, our promise will be fulfilled, and no one owes anyone anything, understand?"

Cassel's voice trembled: "I don't understand, I just... just want to go home..."

The blood was lost so quickly that Cassel's eyes went dark. He only saw Nie Wuhen feeding him three or two pills, then he picked up his sword and walked out of the barrier.

The barrier couldn't last long, so he was leading the gluttonous beast over there.

After fighting for three hundred rounds, Bai Yi finally found the real skeleton among the numerous skeleton monsters. He pinched the skeleton monster and crushed it hard.

The sound of bones breaking was particularly crisp. Bai Yi was wondering why there were no more disturbances from the gluttonous beasts during the fight. But when he turned around, he was so shocked that he was speechless.

All living creatures affected by the sword waves of the Wuwang Sword seemed to be on time, and were prohibited from moving in the air, on the grass... All illusions touched instantly turned into shadows and disappeared.

Not only Bai Yi, but even Nie Wuhen himself was stunned. The only possibility is Cassel's blood just now, but!

Nie Wuhen didn't understand, shouldn't this be Cassel's most important secret? Why did you tell yourself so easily?

"The King of Gluttonous Beasts is running deep into the forest." Nie Wuhen took away the Wuwang Sword. The moment the sword was sheathed, the living creature suspended in the air exploded like a fireball, and it actually began to "rain".

"You chase from here first, and I'll surround you from the side." Nie Wuhen broke the barrier and landed next to Cassel. Looking at the unconscious man, he immediately reached out and pinched his wrist. Seeing that the man was still breathing, he immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

"Brother," Bai Yi came back to his senses from the shock, his face serious, "You should know better than me, even the ghosts outside the three realms can't recognize where this person came from, so this person must be extremely dangerous. Moreover, the evil aura on him will definitely accelerate your demonic possession."

Nie Wuhen bent down and picked the man up: "Before dawn, we must catch the King of Gluttonous Beasts and prevent it from taking the Mermaid Pearl to the Demon Realm."

"Are you listening to me, Brother?" Bai Yi gritted his teeth. "If he escapes from this world, it means he doesn't belong to this world at all! Aren't you afraid that one day your seal will be useless to him, and he will release his evil aura and directly make you possessed?"

Nie Wuhen closed his eyes, as if he was struggling, but when he spoke, he spoke word by word: "I promised."

"What did you promise him?"

"I promised to keep him safe," Nie Wuhen said, "After we get out, we won't have any more interactions."

"It is impossible for me to be possessed by a demon. Even if I am possessed by a demon, I will kill all the demon cultivators before that."

Cassel didn't know about their quarrel. When he woke up, he found himself lying steadily on Nie Wuhen's back. Nie Wuhen was walking with him, looking for something.

The wound on the wrist was bandaged, but because it was the injury caused by the Wuwang Sword, the scar on the palm of the hand could not be removed at all.

"Nie Wuhen," Cassel called him carefully, "Can I not leave you?"

Nie Wuhen paused for a moment, but only half a second. He continued walking forward and asked Cassel why.

"Because you are a good person," Cassel whispered, "you buy me candied haws and save me, I don't want to leave you."

"Where's your home?"

"In the devil's hell," Cassel said pitifully, "I didn't lie to you, no, that's not right. I think I lied to you and said I was a little angel."

"What are angels?"

"They live in the sky and they maintain peace," Cassel said sullenly. "I don't like them because I'm a devil. They are the embodiment of light, while devils are just knights of darkness. We are mortal enemies and we'll fight whenever we meet, but I can't beat them."

Nie Wuhen carried him on his back and said nothing.

Cassel was still chattering away, and from his mouth, Nie Wuhen also began to formally understand the so-called world for the first time, what God, what God of Creation, what demons, and what angels.

In Nie Wuhen's opinion, Cassel never lied to anyone. He was too naive, so naive that he was not at all like the devil he described. Instead, he was more like the angel he described. He simply described his world to everyone, but no one believed him.

After all, no matter who you are, it is impossible to accept an alien species, a person from another world.

Cassel kept talking, but Nie Wuhen remained silent. He became more and more unsure, and finally couldn't hold it back. With tears in his eyes and almost choking, he hugged Nie Wuhen's neck again and buried his head in his neck.

Nie Wuhen's whole body stiffened.

"Can you please not leave me?" Cassel cried sadly, "I really don't know how I can go home. I miss home and Barbatos... I really don't know why I suddenly came to this place."

Nie Wuhen didn't know how to comfort her.

"Is it because I didn't listen?" Cassel wiped all his tears on Nie Wuhen's clothes and cried, "Is it because I lied? Then I will never say that I am a little angel again, can you let me go back?"

Nie Wuhen remained silent.

He waited until Cassel had cried enough and was tired, then he took a deep breath and said, "We can always find a way back."

Cassel hugged him, sniffed, and kept assuring Nie Wuhen that he would never cause any trouble for him and would be a good boy. He also asked Nie Wuhen if he could not leave him.

Nie Wuhen did not respond to his words.

A sudden roar exploded in the empty forest. Nie Wuhen narrowed his eyes, put Cassel down, and repeatedly warned him not to run around. Then he picked up his sword and chased after him.

The King of Gluttonous Beasts is one of the four most vicious beasts in the demon world. He is not someone to be trifled with, especially in a misty forest that suppresses most of the magic power of cultivators.

Cassel stared blankly at the direction where Nie Wuhen disappeared, and finally just sat down, curled up, and leaned against a big tree.

If he wants to go home, he must not only gain Nie Wuhen's favor, but also stop the war between immortals and demons. No matter which mission it is, it is related to Nie Wuhen.

But what if Nie Wuhen doesn't want me at all? There was no point in disguising himself. Nie Wuhen would never be deceived by himself like the little angel.

Cassell was a little desperate.

He always had the illusion that he might not be able to go home at all.
