Chapter 44

Chapter 44

The surroundings were silent except for Cassel's soft sobs. He pushed Ji Chuya while trembling, crawled to the foot of the bed, and curled up into a ball.

Blood oozes out from his wrist, staining Cassel's inner clothes red, but Cassel doesn't notice. He just cried, trembling and hugged himself, saying: "I don't like it... please..."

Ji Chuya didn't say anything.

The mermaid guards kneeled down and kowtowed: "King, the witch invites you."

His wrist was grabbed again, and Cassel burst into tears in panic. He no longer cared about anything else and bit it, refusing to let go.

The wings behind it flapped heavily, as if trying to protect its master, but it was no use - its magic power was sealed again.

Cassell is like the most suitable weapon. Whoever uses it will be the top one. But if he is taken out alone, he is nothing.

Even if he had magic power at this moment, there was a time limit to freezing everyone. In such a short period of time, Cassel couldn't escape at all, unless some powerful person cooperated with him.

Cassel was almost desperate. He cried and bit Ji Chuya's wrist. He didn't let go even when it bled. He didn't dare to let go, but someone was holding his neck, and Ji Chuya used magic to force him to open his mouth.

"Eat something." Ji Chuya didn't care about the teeth marks on his wrist, but threatened, "If you don't want to eat, then finish what you just did, and no one can stop you."

Cassel trembled with fear. He nodded repeatedly, got out of bed regardless of everything, and staggered to sit on the stone bench. He didn't care whether the food in front of him was delicious or not, he just ate it indiscriminately. The seafood and sea water mixed together and Cassel swallowed it down. It was extremely salty.

There were kneeling mermaid guards below.

Ji Chuya looked at him for a while, approached him, and then saw Cassel's wings trembling slightly. Ji Chuya stopped and his eyes fell on Cassel's bleeding wrist.

Cassel is still afraid of Ji Chuya. He swallowed the food hard, stood up and backed away.

Ji Chuya frowned and took two steps forward: "Why are you running?"

Cassel shook his head vigorously. He backed away until he could no longer retreat: "Don't come over here..."

Ji Chuya paused.

The guard said, "King, the witch is still waiting for you."

As soon as Ji Chuya left, Cassel screamed "wow" and vomited everything, retching at the same time. The guards next to him were shocked and surrounded him one by one, calling him "Queen" and offering ointment to apply on Cassel's wound.

But Cassel was terribly afraid of them. He curled up in the corner, whimpering, his wings shrinking, and crying and yelling at them not to come over.

The guard paused.

"No, no, no."

"Don't cry, don't cry."

Cassel wiped his tears vigorously, looked down at his sleeves, raised his gaze to the group of merman guards who dared not approach, and stopped crying.

He whispered, "Don't come over here."

The guard nodded. After looking at each other, they dispersed and pretended to do their own things.

A mermaid came over and stood not far from Cassel, saying softly: "Let me bandage your wound."

Cassel shook his head vigorously. He inevitably thought of when he first arrived, all the mermaids surrounded him, speaking words he couldn't understand, and he watched Ji Chuya cut his wrist and distributed the blood to the injured mermaids to drink.

The injured mermaids recovered, and knelt down and kowtowed to him repeatedly, but Cassel didn't notice it. He just felt cold all over, his vision gradually went dark, and finally he lost consciousness.

After I regained consciousness, I was trapped in this place, without seeing the sun.

Seeing that the mermaid was about to come over, Cassel held his wrist and cried and shook his head. He resisted violently and felt his whole body getting hot and itchy. He began to feel uncomfortable and kept scratching his neck and arms while shouting "don't come over".

The guards finally noticed something was wrong and rushed forward, but Cassel was too resistant to them, like a fish out of water, and wouldn't let anyone get close to him. They coaxed him, but he was still too scared. The guards finally had no choice but to knock him out temporarily.

The exposed skin was covered with red rashes that spread deep into the body. Several merman guards were dumbfounded. After they realized what was happening, they crawled to ask for help from a witch doctor.

"For thousands of years, the mermaids have been declining. In order to survive, they had to use the mermaid pearls to protect the mermaid children. Now the mermaid pearls are lost, and the king has used the fate of the entire mermaid tribe to catch this one hope. Don't be reckless."

In the hall, among the corals, an old mermaid transformed into human legs and sat upright on a shell cushion. She spoke slowly in a hoarse voice.

Ji Chuya sat opposite, frowning: "Of course I know."

The two men sat opposite each other, talking about the mermaid tribe and the current situation, then brought the topic back to the original topic. Then they heard a guard come in from outside and say that there was something important.

Ji Chuya was upset and turned around and said, "What's going on?"

The guard said: "There are rumors outside that if the king does not hand over the queen, Yun Dian Jian Zun will throw the captured mermaids into the demon world, and also said, also said..."

Ji Chuya sneered: "What else are you talking about?"

"He also said that he would destroy the mermaid pearl in front of everyone!"

Ji Chuya flipped the table and said angrily: "This is outrageous! Is he going to die? He tried to rob the queen of the mermaid tribe, but Immortal Shangyao still allowed him to do this?"

The guards were so scared that they kowtowed repeatedly: "But the outside world has rumors that the king has not married, but has abducted someone to be the queen, and they still say the king, the king..."

"What do you say about me?"

"They say Wang De is unworthy of his position. Now people outside are clamoring to destroy the mermaid tribe, led by the fox tribe."

Ji Chuya sneered. He finally understood: "It turns out that this is a mantis catching a cicada. Nie Wuhen wants to be the oriole!"

The guard said nothing.

The witch stroked the beads on her wrist, was silent for a moment, and said: "There are two solutions. The first is to send that person back and get the mermaid pearl back; the second is..."

Ji Chuya turned around, with an unconcealable coldness in his eyes: "The second is to get married again and hold a Hongmen Banquet."

As he was speaking, another guard outside said that something terrible had happened. Ji Chuya asked irritably what was wrong.

The guard was terrified: "My king, the queen is dying!"

Cassell felt uncomfortable all over. Even in his sleep, he was crying and making a fuss, sometimes yelling about Barbatos, sometimes talking about Nie Wuhen. He scratched his neck unconsciously, but someone grabbed his wrist tightly, preventing him from scratching.

Cassel was even sadder. He cried and struggled, and due to the violent emotional fluctuations, his head began to hurt, his body became hot, and even his breathing became hot.

Ji Chuya was dumbfounded. After the witch doctor came over, she looked around and took out the pills, sighing, "He's allergic and overly frightened... King, why are you torturing him?"

Ji Chuya frowned: "Can it be cured?"

The witch doctor put the pill into Cassel's mouth, but the latter not only did not swallow it, but also spit it out. The pill also choked Cassel awake.

Cassel looked at the mermaids around him and was instantly filled with fear. He backed away little by little, clutching his clothes tightly, crying and asking them not to come over. No matter how the witch doctor persuaded him or how he tried to prove that he had no bad intentions, Cassel would not listen to him.

Ji Chuya just felt a surge of anger. He took the pill, grabbed Cassel's arm, and wanted to force him to eat it. Even though Cassel struggled, he was forced to eat it.

But it was too bitter, Cassel couldn't swallow it, he pushed Ji Chuya away, then lay on the edge of the bed and retched, vomiting out everything he had just eaten, his tears almost running out.

“Don’t come over here…”

Seeing that Ji Chuya was about to come over, Cassel suddenly felt creepy. What happened half an hour ago took root in his heart. He didn't care about anything else and just ran downstairs!

Can't run away.

"Don't come over here... I beg you, don't come over here..."

The guards beside him knelt on the ground: "King, we can't scare him anymore..."

Ji Chuya looked at Cassel who was in a state of collapse, slowly took three steps back, and suddenly said a name: "Nie Wuhen."

Cassel stopped crying. He looked up blankly, looking around with tearful eyes. The red rash was so dense that it had already crawled to his chin.

Cassel whispered, "Where is he?"

Ji Chuya said: "Take the medicine, and when you wake up, I will let you see him."

"Will you lie to me?"

"I can swear, no. As long as you cooperate, you will definitely be able to see him."

The wings flapped slightly, rippling the water. Cassel wiped his tears vigorously and nodded in agreement.

The witch doctor received the order and tactfully placed the pill beside the bed. He watched Cassel slowly stretch out his hand and looked at them with particular vigilance.

Ji Chuya and everyone else stood not far away, watching him put the pill in his mouth. The next second, they saw Cassel retching and vomiting it all out with a "wow".

Ji Chuya's face changed and he was about to step forward, but Cassel reacted immediately, retreating in panic, his eyes full of fear. He cried and repeated: "Don't come over..."

"What happened?"

"It's so bitter," Cassel explained, trembling all over, hoarsely, "I can't eat it..."

The witch doctor said: "It's normal for him not to eat anything for a day. He should be full...but he can't eat this fish. He is allergic to it."

"Change the ointment," Ji Chuya stood still and instructed, "Let him apply it himself. I'll be back soon."

Cassel felt groggy and dazed. In a daze, he felt someone put his hand on his forehead and whispered something. He woke up almost immediately, shook off the person's hand and stepped back timidly.

In the empty room, a strange mortal appeared. He stood nearby with a box hanging around his waist. His back was to Cassel, so Cassel couldn't see him clearly.

Ji Chuya looked at Cassel with some impatience. He took back his hand and said, "What are you afraid of? Weren't you afraid at the beginning? What are you afraid of now?"

Cassel's shoulders trembled slightly, he bit his lip tightly, and looked at him warily.

The witch doctor hurriedly said: "King, it is more important to appease him."

Cassel was extremely afraid of the mermaids and would not allow any mermaid to get close to him. This left all the mermaids helpless, but they could not let him fend for himself. Finally, they had no other choice but to find someone with a similar body shape to Nie Wuhen.

Everyone around had gone out. Before Ji Chuya left, he seemed to stay for a moment, but finally left. In an instant, Cassel and that man were the only ones left in the room.

Cassel's shoulders relaxed slightly. Seeing that man coming over, he panicked instantly and was about to run away crying, but the mortal's words instantly froze him in place.

"Casel," the man soothed, his eyes looking sad, "Don't be afraid of me."

Cassel looked back at him, tears gathering in his eyes until he could no longer hold them back. As the sea water rose, he sat on the bed. It was not until he saw "Nie Wuhen" approaching to hug him that he seemed to react. He rushed over to hug him back, sobbing, "Nie Wuhen, why did you come just now..."
