A husky shook its shiny gray fur and gave Su Chen a flirtatious wink.
"System, your expression... um... is a bit..."
"Stop, I know what you're going to say." The husky plopped down on the ground, raised one front paw, and spread its soft paw pads outward.
"I must say, you've made a good friend." The system turned around.
Su Chen followed his gaze and saw Bo Lie, who was holding the bedding and looking quite disheveled.
"Why are you doing this to yourself?" Su Chen sighed.
Bo Lie grinned, "A bunch of idiots can't be led. At least you, a little idiot, can listen to me."
"Tsk tsk, as if you're not brain-dead. You have a perfectly good protection camp, why do you have to come looking for a 'zombie' like me?" Su Chen said, but the corners of her mouth couldn't help but turn up.
Bo Lie didn't pay any attention to what she was saying; his mind was completely drawn to the husky at her feet.
"Where did you pick up this dog? Are you sure it wasn't infected by zombies and turned into a zombie dog?"
Su Chen chuckled, "I don't know either, it just keeps following me... It looks like it has a lot of meat... Hmm... Slurp."
Bo Lie was so frightened that he quickly hugged the dog system.
"What?! You can't be that heartless, can you?"
“If I get really hungry, I will,” Su Chen said calmly.
The system had a love-hate relationship with this host. He was currently in Su Chen's arms thanks to Bo Lie, and as a single guy, he was incredibly grateful to her. But then… she insisted on…
The system suddenly remembered a survival show where Bear Grylls glanced at the director when they couldn't even find insects, and his expression was quite subtle...
He thought that the host's expression at that moment should be similar to that of Bear Grylls back then.
"Where are we going to stay tonight?" Bo Lie asked again.
Su Chen: "..."
She didn't want to respond to that.
"Host, I have a tent and a sleeping bag," the dog system quietly relayed to Su Chen.
Su Chen immediately understood the reason behind the dog-watching system's attentiveness.
Sure enough, everyone likes beautiful and mature women.
Su Chen didn't have a bag. If she suddenly took it out, even if Bo Lie didn't ask, he would still become suspicious, so...
"Huh? What's under that dog's belly?" The surprised expression and excited voice left no room for doubt.
"What? What?" Bo Lie suddenly became curious.
Su Chen first used a stick to poke at the brown outdoor sports bag under the dog system's belly, and then "hesitantly" reached out to unzip it.
Inside was a huge tent and two sleeping bags.
Su Chen was surprised to find that the two sleeping bags were actually down-filled! It seems the system really went all out!
The tent, though it could hold three or four people, was made of fabric that was simply not enough to keep out zombies.
Although she wasn't afraid, Bo Lie wasn't...
"Why don't you go back to the protection camp..." Su Chen turned her head and said earnestly.
"No, I can't leave you alone." Bo Lie was deeply moved. The more Su Chen urged her to go back, the more she wanted to stay and protect her.
After all, in the apocalypse, a person without power, especially a lone woman, would likely not survive more than an hour, and that's an optimistic estimate.
Su Chen wanted to cry.
"Haha, don't be so touched, we're all friends!" Bo Lie comforted him.
Su Chen shook her head, wanting to cry but unable to shed a tear.
He cried out in his heart, "You big fool, it's my fault for not being able to protect you! I can't even protect myself!"
The two of them, laughing and crying, found a sheltered spot and set up their tent.
